We have stayed numerous times at this park not only because it is convenient, but because it offers us everything we need! Spacious, level, pull-through sites with full hook-ups, clean restrooms and showers, and a large lake offering fun catch and release fishing and relaxing views. The owner, his family, and staff have always welcomed us warmly, offering any assistance needed to make our stay pleasant. We often have our young grandchildren visit and stay with us while here, and they love to use the playground, game room, fish in the lake, and feed the ducks!! We recommend this park to anyone needing a clean and comfortable stay. We look forward to many more stays here in the future.
This park was used by us as an overnight stop and provided us with all the necessary amenities we required for an easy stop over. Although the main area of the park had back-in sites for many extended stay units, we were given a nice long, level pull-through site so we would not have to offload our car and/or unhook the tow dolly. We had an open view of the southwest sky which enabled us to use our roof-top satellite dish. The park also provided Wi-Fi at no charge to guests using it. The office was located in a beautiful log cabin lodge, and offered a warm and relaxing atmosphere to sit and read or watch television. The Olympic size pool was located just behind the lodge. Unfortunately for our stay it was too cold to use. Although we stayed only one night utilizing our Camp Club USA discounted rate, multiple nights are allowed here with the discount. The park is located approximately 1 1/2 miles from I-59 and the lack of road noise was very relaxing and much appreciated!!
A very nice park with the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. All sites were level concrete pads with 50 amp service and cable tv. WiFi was available at no charge. The office building housed very nice restrooms and showers for those requiring them, and also made available three pairs of coin-operated washers and dryers. We stayed two nights using our Camp Club USA discount.
We were very surprised and pleased the minute we pulled into the park, finding it to be very well kept, clean, and providing spacious sites! Although the park was just recently sold by Western Horizon Resorts to Ocean Canyon Resorts, we were welcomed as Western Horizon members to use the resort and were not charged any of the surcharges that Western Horizon usually charges their members to offset utility costs. Note: this review would not accept that we paid $0 dollars per night as members, so although the nightly rate is shown as $1, it was actually no charge to current Western Horizon and Coastal Canyon members. The staff was very pleasant and always found time to offer assistance to us when we sought it. During our two week stay we watch in amazement as many upgrades were completed such as new electric providing 20/30/50 service at each site, new rental cottages, painting, and the swimming pool and hot tub liners redone. The weekly schedule of activities offered dinners, tag along tours to local places of interest, casino trips, cards, games, and exercise. Our satellite dish worked with no problems even with the many tall pine trees. We even had good reception off our antenna for regular broadcast network stations. As for the cellular phone service, our Verizon phone worked most of the time, but we must have been right at the edge of our signal range because we did have some difficulty with calls dropping from inside the coach. We also were able to use our Verizon Wireless Broadband service which actually worked better than the phone service. With all the good things this park offered, it is difficult to be critical, but I will mention that we found the only drawback to this park was Highway 435 from Abita Springs, LA to the resort. It is a two lane highway with no shoulders that must be maneuvered with caution if you are driving a big rig.
