I have one complaint about this campground...we didn't stay long enough! Beautiful campground, very neat, clean and quiet. Large dog park. Roads are gravel but not dusty. Great for bicycling. The turn going in is very tight but doable. We were not the only large RV there. Staff at the front desk and golf cart escort were super helpful. I was looking for brochures of the area and the desk gal helped me find what I was looking for. There is so much to do in the area that we could have spent a week here. Next time we will. I thought the price was fair for full hook ups and 50 amp. Our space was just a bit off level but nothing the leveling system couldn't handle. Also, the lots are very large was is a bonus on top of everything else. This is now one of my very favorite places to camp.
We decided to splurge and rent the premium site. While this is not something I would do again due to cost, we truly enjoyed the site. The swing was a favorite and received lots of use. Also having patio furniture was a treat so that we did not have to get our lawn chairs out. The Weber gas grill was super clean. The campground is beautiful. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I even saw the staff stop to help a fellow camper with his sewer hose. Don't be worried about that bumpy steep incline going into the campground. Once at the top is there is plenty of room to maneuver around. We have a 42' Class A and got in and out with no problems. Close to Hocking Hills and several antique/flea markets. Due to the hills this is not a campground for older people to bicycle around. We would go back.
Very big rig friendly. The pull-through lot was huge and we had plenty of space left over even with the tow still hooked up. No auto level needed. The staff was very friendly and nice and gave us driving directions. However, the bad news. I was very surprised that this was a Good Sam Park. I imagine back in it's day, this park was a real beauty. However, all the gardens were grown over. It just looked tired. Also, and this can't be helped, it was the noisiest campground that we have ever stayed in. It is located between a railroad track and a very busy freeway. The train didn't bother us one bit but the noise coming off the freeway prevented us from staying outside very long. This seems to be more of a one night, passing through kind of place and not the place to spend a weekend.
I cannot wait to return! This just changed to a KOA. It is a small hidden gem. All roads are blacktopped so no dust. The site was so level we did not have to even auto level. Was also long enough for our 41' and with the tow vehicle parked in front. There is a nice pond with a sand beach for swimming. Staff is super friendly. Very fun play ground for the kids. Even though this was an early weekend, there was lots to do.
I rated this same campground very high last year even though we had a reservation issue with our pull through. We ended up sharing it with a small camper. However, this year was unacceptable. I made reservations on 1.20.12 for July 3, 4 & 5th. 2-3 weeks before our visit, we received a call that said we could not have the site for the 5th and would have to move as someone else would be placed in that spot. Not sure why we were the ones that had to be moved, but we were told there was a huge mix-up with reservations for that weekend from the beginning of the year. They offered to place us in the "over flow" lot which I found out meant the parking lot. As we have an almost new 42 foot motorcoach I was not at all pleased with that arrangement. I told them to cancel our reservation and refund the money. That request had to be approved by someone else and we were finally told that could be done. One mix up I can understand but 2 in 2 years now places this campground on my "never visit again" list. Very sad.
Such a quaint, small campground. Oh, so very friendly Permies. We had many campers stop by or invite us to "sit a spell". Close to town and local attractions. Due to the lack on rain in Ohio, the swimming pond was non-accessable, but would have been nice other wise. This has been placed on our re-visit list.
What a great hidden gem. The friendliest campground we have visited. Lots to do. They had a potluck/soup lunch with a huge screen showing the OSU football game the weekend we were there. This was an inside pavilion. They also have a large outdoor shelter house which is used often. My only complaint is that this is not really big rig ready. We reserved a pull through for our 42 ft couch with a pull vehicle, only to arrive and 2 small campers were already there. The site they finally found for us was very level but a bit of a twist and turn to get the RV into. Very open with trails for golt carts. Now that I know what to expect, I would visit again but see if a better spot could be found first.
We try to visit a different campground each time we go. There are very few that I want to visit twice, except this one. Fabulous! I agree that the road going in is narrow, but we had no issue with our 41 ft coach. There is so much to do here. I liked that you could buy an arm band which enabled you to use all the equipment. The campground is huge and the sites are so spacious and level. Tree limbs were not an issue, yet we had a shady spot. If you have a gas powered golf cart, you would get your use out of it due to the many roads. Each section/pod has it own playground with unusual equipment. American Bald Eagles have a nest nearby and they fly over the lake by the marina. The owners and campers are all so friendly and we had good conversation with several. An adult could easily bike here as the roads are level. We learned the hard way NOT to depend on the ole GPS. Use the directions the campground provides! Give this one a try and you will be pleased.
This is a quiet, small, out of the way camp ground. Very shady yet we had no trouble with branches preventing us from parking. The lots are good sized and you are not on top of your neighbor. Very friendly owners. Close to Railroad Trail bike paths and antique stores. The fire pits all needed cleaned out and when we arrived ours was full of trash. However, we so enjoyed the atmosphere that we would go back.
27 Flavors of soft service ice cream! Need I say more? This is one beautiful campground. Fantastic swimming pond with 5 life guards. Landscaping is top notch. This is a place that wants you to have a great family experience at not a great cost and I give them a lot of credit for that. The consession stand was very low priced. We towed our truck and never left the grounds it was that fun. An older adult could not ride a bike here as the campsites are on a steep slope. We will return often.
This campground has such potential, however, I do not see where the new owner has done much. There is a beautiful indoor pool, big screen TV room and a catch and release fishing pond. It is starting to look shabby. No landscaping and the buildings could be maintained better. Our space was very unlevel and had only a thin layer of small gravel. With a 42' motorhome, we quickly started to sink. There were power lines and tree limbs right behind us so it was difficult to back up very far. However, it was our fault that we did not asked to be moved, but I feel that we never should of been placed there. Great campground for adult bicycling and many activities planned.
This was a holiday weekend and I thought the price was acceptable. I loved that there was an adult pool along with a toddler, family and sprinkler play zone. Lot was VERY level (for our 42 footer) which we always appreciate. Camp staff goes out of their way to help. Campground was great for adult bicycling. Close to Jet Express and Port Clinton. Will come back.
Small but charming campground. Lots are good size and level for our 42' rig. Clean, clean, clean. Good upkeep on landscaping. Owner very hands on and friendly. Bicycling for an older person would be a challenge. We have stayed here before and always enjoy our time.
