Although this campground is "out in the middle of nowhere," it's a very nice place. And it is nice to have a place out in the middle of nowhere when you've been traveling all day & just need a place to pull off & sleep for the night, which is what we did. Fairly level pull throughs, shady sites. Owners were friendly & helpful. Quite a bit of highway noise, though, and a train runs close by, too. Easy on & off the interstate. Would stay here again if passing through but wouldn't make it a destination point.
Close to attractions and park provides shuttle to the ferry's. Sites down by the lake are nice with a pretty view of the bridge. But park is huge and only one dumpster at the entrance by the office. Kind of a pain. Need to provide trash pick up or at least dumpsters spaced around the park. No patios. Site was fairly level. Forget about the Wi-Fi - a pain to use and weeds were pretty tall and overgrown. Wood was wet. I would stay here again because of the location, but not as wonderful as other posts have said. At least not where we were.
Lovely campground! Large, level lots with concrete patios and picnic tables. Seems like they have tried to fix the fire ring problems that were mentioned in other reviews because ours was in a good spot and we had campfires with no problems. Well maintained sites with what seems to be a lot of people who stay all season or all year, but all maintain their lots beautifully. Very friendly staff. A great central location for all the area attractions. Lots to see and do in this area. Would definitely stay here again! In fact, was sad to leave!! Just beautiful!
This was a beautiful RV park. Very clean and very well maintained. Large, level pull through sites. Very friendly, helpful staff. Good tasting water! Trains run very close behind park but did not bother us at all. Would definitely stay here again if ever in the area.
Nice, clean campground with very friendly and helpful hosts. We stayed here so we could visit the flea market/auction in Shipshewana. Campground furnished a shuttle back and forth to it, and even stopped by a bicycle shop on the way back so that we could get supplies that we needed to fix our bicycle. Sites were not level but not too bad. No concrete patios. Had a nice doggie park where we could walk the dog and let him run. Price reflects our KOA discount. Visited the RV museum in Elkhart also, and thought it was really interesting. Would definitely stay at this campground again if ever in the area.
If you are desperate for a place to stay, stay here, otherwise avoid this place! Pull throughs are grassy, no tables or fire rings and far from level. Thirty amp power supply kept tripping, poor water pressure, and the absolutely most RUDE camp host I have ever met! Made our reservations a week prior, but when we got there, she didn't write the reservations down so no reservation. Explanation was she was "too busy and never got around to it." Lots of highway noise. Would NEVER stay here again!!
Rate was $60, but with Passport America, we got the first night for $30. We really liked it here. Away from the amusement park down the street. Clean & quiet, and EASY access to Niagara Falls - just 4 miles away. Only a few sites have cable & there are no pull throughs, but we liked it here very much. No problem with the staff - very friendly & helpful. Will stay here again if we're ever in this area again.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Clean facility. Nice pull throughs with plenty of room. Couldn't use our satellite dish because of all the trees (nice shady sites) and the cable TV was pretty poor in channel selection, but we weren't inside much anyway. Good location as we were there just visiting Springfield & surrounding area (Wilson's Creek Battlefield is not far & very interesting). Trains run right by campground during night so that might bother some, but didn't bother us. Will stay there again when in that area.
