Very tight entrance to this campground. Good quiet atmosphere though. Did a little fishing while we were here and actually caught a few. Very shaded campground so don't bet on the satellite working. We would probably stay here again.
Stayed here on our way to Chattanooga and it was one of the highlights of our trip for our 9 year old. They offer so much that it would be impossible to list it all here, but we look forward to camping here again. You should really check out their website. We are looking forward to the re-opening of the Furnacemasters restaurant and attending Trade Days for the first time. The road to the park from I-20 is narrow in places but I really can't think of anything negative to say about the park itself. A very good place to camp.
Very nice, clean state park. When we were hooking up our microwave shorted out. Hope is wasn't from a voltage problem with that site, but we moved to a different one and everything else worked. Only stayed here one night but it seems like the type of place that we would visit again if in the area.
We stayed here during spring break just to get away. Arrived after dark and had a little trouble backing into our campsite as there are no pull throughs. Don't think it would've been a problem during daylight hours. Not much to do in the area unless you like bingo. Woodall mountain (highest point in MS) was a huge disappointment. Excellent trails to hike inside the park. Great place just to get away from it all. Dump station on exit was a little tight on exit, but we would definitely stay here again. We pull a 38 ft. 5th wheel.
Stayed here for the Memorial Day weekend just to get away from Jackson. All campgrounds near Jackson were full so we tried this one. Very friendly staff. They offer extras like ice cream in the evenings and a pancake breakfast in the mornings. We enjoyed the pool but the water slide was temporarily closed. Nice campground but not a good location. Salvage yard of some kind just before you turn into the campground. Overall a good stay and would visit here again.
Our favorite place to get away for a relaxing weekend. Offers swimming in the lake, fishing, small playground, tennis courts, and even has an air conditioned pavillion you can rent for family reunions, etc. Sites are roomy and level and easy to get into. This is a nice place to just relax and enjoy being out of the city. Too bad it is all about to change. The whole campground and lake area is about to be developed into a Yogi Bear campground which I'm sure will be nice, but not the same.
Good access for the big rigs. Only 35 miles from Mammoth Cave. Friendly staff with very clean campground. Our only complaint was that they need a little more gravel. If you have red dirt, it should be covered. We would camp here again.
Fairly close to interstate but little or no traffic noise. Good pull through sites that are very friendly for the big rigs. We pull a 38 foot 5th wheel. Staff was friendly and helpful. The owner walks you to your campsite even in the rain. Sites are spacious to allow for slide outs and awnings. We would camp here again.
Upon arrival we were told to go to site 138. Had to pull back to office when this site was still occupied. Told to go to site 148. Both of these are pull through sites. Had to move a picnic table and literally jack-knife the trailer to get in. Still wouldn't have made it except the people across the road from us were not home which gave us a little extra turning room. Definitely not a big rig friendly campground although several were here. Sites are so close together that when you let your slides out they almost touch your neighbors awning. Overall a clean campground with friendly staff but we will look elsewhere next time. We pull a 38 foot 5th wheel with a long bed crew cab dually.
Campground staff very professional and friendly. Also have discounted tickets to area attractions. All facilities clean and maintained. Only 10 minutes from everything there is do in Chattanooga. We pull a 38 foot 5th wheel with a long bed crew cab dually and had absolutely no problem getting in and out of their campground. Would recommend this campground to anyone.
