This campground reflects the managers. It is untidy, overpriced and needs a LOT of maintenance! Here were our issues: They refuse to set up recycling because it appears they actually might have to do some work to make that happen. The rules state that Pitt Bulls are not allowed, but they allowed a Pitt Bull to stay a couple of months when we were there. An X-Rated PORN RV came in and stayed a few days and they didn't have an issue with it even though PORN was written all over the RV and kids are in the camp. The people who work there, work hard, but are limited by the management. The mail is left out for days so people who have checks coming in or credit cards can find them sitting out and being picked up by anyone. The laundry is NEVER cleaned and breakdowns are ongoing. We would never have stayed there if there was a better, closer place to stay. If you must stop in Marietta, go to the WalMart, it's a much better deal! And talk about overpriced! They didn't get the pool repaired and working till midway through the summer! Not a fun place to stay or take the kids!
This park is a Trailer Park/RV Park so you can be right across from a permanent resident in a Mobile Home. The office personal were very helpful & informative. The park is very clean and well maintained. They have a nice pool area, shuffle board area right by the laundry room which operates not with coins, but with a card that must be picked up in the office and then filled outside the office, much like a cash card. 2 issues of concern: You must drive through many mobile homes to get to the RV section which can be disconcerting at night if you are a late arrival and need to find your spot without assistance. They DO have a FERAL cat community which they have worked with the SPCA on, but we did walk outside in the morning and find cats on our picnic table. The manager addressed the situation by thoroughly explaining that it was the most humane way to handle the cat problem in their area. You'll need to decide if this is a big problem for you personally.
What a lovely park! Newer with paved roads, VERY clean with lots of space. They DO have some permanent RVers, so they've made themselves at home with a lot of outdoor "stuff", decks, toys, etc, but it really is a lovely, clean, nice park and we would definitely stay there for an overnight or an extended stay. We recommend this place to anyone traveling! It was one of the best places we stayed while traveling.
The park is very clean with gravel sites and grass just outside your door. We had a great spot and could see the pond. They keep the area around the pond mowed so it is great for walking our dog. The person at the desk, should have angel wings! She was professional, friendly, helpful and was really wonderful to us because we ended up staying a week due to a truck breakdown. The camp is right off the freeway, easy in and out and we would definitely stay again. It's a great place to stop while traveling through Houston, Texas.
