Squeaky clean and well maintained park. I do not recommend the pull-through sites unless you are in a group. Almost no separation. Back-in sites are well laid out and have enough distance in between. Facilities and utilities are immaculate and management is friendly and helpful. Good Wi-Fi. Water for park is gravity fed and pressure is over 100PSI. A water pressure regulator on the faucet is mandatory. Be sure to use one. The park has just installed live webcams that monitor two roads in park.
I'm writing a review about this park because people need to know it exists. We have stayed there twice in the last two years while doing business in the The Dalles area. Worth the 45 minute commute. The park is situated on a beautiful lake framed with pine forest, private vacation cabins, and views of Mt. Hood to the west and rolling green farmland and high desert scenery to the east. This is a fantastic place to visit with kids. The park has a wonderful sandy beach and swimming area, a recently upgraded dock/marina, boat/jet ski rentals, lakeside restaurant/lounge (with a pretty lively nightlife), a small store, playground, nasty little video arcade, laundry, and showers. If you can't deal with dust, kids, and the general commotion and half-run-down condition of the place it's probably not for you. There is a section with (I'm guessing) around 70 fulltime units stacked in on top of each other like a basket of dumped toys. These are for the most part not intrusive to the rest of the park and inhabited by folks who spend every weekend fishing there. All the negatives aside we have a blast with our kids there. They never get bored and the beauty of the surroundings make it OK for Mom and Dad too. This is one of those places that makes me wish I'd won the lottery just to be able to make it worthy of it's location and potential.
We were very pleasantly surprised by this park. Even though it is an older park primarily geared towards long term residents, we were surprised to find most of those sites vacant and most monthly/yearly tennants are all together along the west side of the park. The managers, a retired couple staying there in their RV are without a doubt the nicest hosts I have encountered in years. We arrived late and they were very gracious and got us right into a spot even though my reservation had been lost in cyberspace. The next morning they had us right in a premium riverside site as soon as another rig notified them that they were pulling out. They knew it was our anniversary and wanted us to have a great site. And great it was. Right on the river! Needless to say we left them a nice gift and will definitely stay there again. The park's website does nothing to show the beauty there. The park is well kept and the laundry, showers and community areas and facilities although old, are absolutely spotless and in good order. Neat place!
This is a very nice park for the area. Convenient, quiet, and nice Blue mountain views. The staff was among the nicest I've encountered. They do a great job considering this is not an area that would typically attract RV'ers. I would recommend it to anyone.
Very nice modern park for the area. We were there for a little league baseball tournament and they were great about having all the young baseball players around and were great about working with us with an unpredictable tournament schedule. Nice long pull through sites with healthy lawns and level sites. Seasonal residents are way around the corner in an area away from anyone else. Excellent value!
I won't knock this park. It's above par compared to what else you'll find on the central coast. We have always had good experiences and have been lucky to not have noisy neighbors. Very convenient to the best beach access in the area. Sites tend to be a little narrow because of tall vegetation but it's right near the beach so I find it acceptable given the jungle like nature of the immediate area. Will stay there again.
I'm not docking them any points for not having a pool.. It's Central Oregon and there's many places nearby that make a pool a ridiculous choice. As stated repeatedly this is the premier park in the west. Kudo's to the new owners for keeping it in business and holding the same high standards as always.
This is a very nice older park within easy access to local attractions and business functions. The landscaping is beautiful and includes a nice variety of flowers. As said before, the terraced levels of the park and ample greenery give it the feel of a much smaller facility. Most sites appear to require at least two inches of side to side leveling. Proximity to the main rail line may bother some but I did not find it as a negative. I found the staff to be impatient and rude, which is unfortunate. Guest parking consists of approx. eight tight spaces next to the dumpsters in two locations serving over 400 sites. Any alternative guest parking will be viciously enforced by the staff. (We learned the hard way when an elderly relative stopped by for a quick visit and parked in a vacant site next to us for 20 minutes and was made to park 150 yards away at the dumpster) I feel the parks marketing as a 'high end' facility with rigid standards is a bit of a stretch. I was grilled over the phone about the year and condition of my vehicles (late model and higher end) only to arrive to find quite a few 80's and even a few 70's motorhomes and trailers set up for year round occupancy, including units with skirting, built-on decks, roof covers, dog fences, park models, and cars with the grass growing up around them. Any full time residents we encountered were very nice but it still came as a bit of a surprise after choosing this park based on their advertised strict admission requirements. obviously the rules don't apply to everyone.. If you don't want to pay top dollar to camp in a "trailer park" setting make sure you reserve a site closer to the main entrance. We stayed for a week and would probably stay there again but will insist on a certain area of the park next time.
One of my favorite parks on the Oregon coast. Nicely kept and the shuttle service to Cannon Beach is such a benefit. Rates are a little steep but can be negotiated in advance. Stayed there many times and it's always enjoyable.
