This is a huge campground with a lot of permanents. We had a pull-thru on top of a hill that was fairly level. The hook ups are in the center of the sites not at the back as normal. Easy access to 80 in and out. No wireless. Would stay again is wireless isn't needed.
This is our second stay in less than a year. After reading the latest posting I was a bit nervous about the power, but a dialog with the owner overcame my concern. I also learned that they recently upgraded their wireless service that is now password protected. This is a gem of a site with a family that keeps a neat and clean family campground. They have the best laundry room we have seen. Friendly and helpful staff with great tips on dining and area interests. My concern for a level site with elbow room was more than exceeded. We will be here a week and know we will enjoy the time with our dogs. We will definitely stay here again and again.
We stayed in two different sites over a nine-day period. I can see both points of view from the previous postings. The site offers a world of activities and services. The location is easy to access lakes, wineries, city, and RV dealership Wilkins, with excellent repair services. Also call Southern Tier Auto Glass for windshield replacement, did mine on site. The spa offers a variety of excellent treatments that offered great relief of a lower back problem from driving. The sites are variable and most in need of re-dressing of gravel. Great views and trees, many in need of a trim for MHs. We will stay there again depending on the site.
I will avoid this park next time. It is not worth the money. I had to back around a corner and into my site. I took some tree limbs along with it. The back in around the corner was a seasonal suggestion after I failed to make it the logical way. The office gave no clue on this issue. The seasonal sites next to our were busy all night with their landscaping. The site was muddy beyond the cement pad...leaving little usable room for set up. I don't get Woodall's rating of 5. Doesn't rate in my book.
Small-scale (37) site next to hotel and conference center. We were far enough away not to be disturbed but close enough to take advantage of the facilities where the pool and hot-tub are located. The sites are great, but not all have water or sewer. Most of the pull-throughs are without both. We backed in and ran our waterline under the coach for hook-up. The WiFi was not fast enough for video-steaming but OK for all else. We really liked this sites for our dogs...plenty of grass and parklands...plus it wasn't too full. We will visit again.
All we wanted in an overnight stay on our way south, in a 42' MH with no toad. 1) close to motorway (I-55), 2) far enough from the road not to hear the traffic, 3) level site, 4) friendly staff (helped with parking), 5) WiFI, 6) very well maintained, 6) RV service shop, 7) dog friendly. Really nice place to stay: clean, safe and helpful. This will be our primary and last stop on any trips south.
We were allowed to 'dry camp' for the evening. The park was closed with no campers in sight, so we had the park to ourselves. They had cleaned the park for the winter so it was very tidy. We had a very level site (#12) with 50 amp service and dump site. Gravel site with cement landing with picnic table and firepit: ample size site. $5 for about 10 pieces of wood. This is a big park and I am not sure how we would feel about it if we had stayed in the summer. But for our stay it was great.
Very convenient park right off I-40 west of Knoxville in the direction of Nashville. The park was well maintained down to lights at the utility box and garbage cans hung off the ground at the end of each site. There was was under a heater cap so water was available in the 37 degree weather. Good Sam discount available...well stocked office. If the traffic noise bothers you then you may want to skipped this, but our MH is well insulated and it didn't bother us much at all. The real find is back around the lake where camping is allowed, but with no hookups. We would not have fit there, but it was a great morning walk with our dogs. Will stay again.
After we found the park and our spot we found this location to be a very pleasant and friendly park. While the entrance was a bit tight on the right turn into the facilities, it was well worth it. The place was really well maintained and clean all around. Some of the best we have seen. The clubhouse was warm, and like a lake house complete with a wood burning fireplace and TV. The staff was very friendly. In fact we arrived late afternoon on a Saturday and the Enterprise car rental had closed: leaving us stranded without a car to get to town for some excellent food at the Golden Lamb hotel and rest. The attendant offer us the use of her personal car for the evening: WOW!
