After hearing mixed reviews about Rosemount, we went anyway. I think we found a hidden gem. I think Wi-Fi is available at the office. Only reason I didn't give a 10 was because of the funky sewer hookups. Most come out of the ground on steep angles and do not have any fittings. That's easily fixed with duct tape. Pond is nice but not within walking distance. Campground is on a hill but it's not bad to walk. Sites were huge and level, but the exit roads were a little tight. Will return.
We had a great coupon so that is why we picked Drummer Boy. Rate noted is stated on their fee list. There is highway noise, but it didn't bother us. We were in sites 48 and 48a. Sites were level and big. Not happy with the uphill sewer hookup in 48. Seems everything is a bit over priced. Ice cream stand was a joke. No sundaes because of no soft ice cream or syrup, no milkshake because they had no milk. 2 types of freezer burnt ice cream and stale cones is what they had. The staff gets a 50/50 vote from us. The maintenance guys seemed friendlier than the office staff. There was 1 girl in the office that seemed it wasn't a bother for her to wait on us. The most bothersome part of the 4 night trip concerned 3 of the kids in our group. They bought light up necklaces in the store. Well, after 5 minutes, none of them worked. Took them back and were rudely told that all we can do is buy new ones. Other than that, no major issues. Cable TV is great, Wi-Fi is way overpriced, $6 per day. Won't say we won't return here, but we will look at other cg's in the area first
Have to give it a 9, ONLY because the bugs, especially ticks, were terrible. I know of campgrounds that have at least traps for insects. Other than that, excellent. Probably the first "resort" we stayed at that I would actually call a "resort". Great for bike riding. OK game room. Snack bar was above average. Activities were excellent. Friendly staff with many employees. The septic ran uphill at our site, but that was a minor distraction. We would go back again.
Roads are dusty. Mostly seasonals but found them all friendly. The staff was also friendly. Water pressure was a trickle in morning and evening. Campground is mostly flat, so bike riding and walking was very enjoyable. Worst part was getting into and out of the sites. Once we were set up, the site was nice. We have a 30' and our friends have a 32'. The staff does help you into your site, but exact positioning is up to you. Leaving took some tactical maneuvering, but we got out. Unsure if we would go here again.
Continuous activities, super friendly owners, clean, this list can go on and on. Definitely a once a year (or more) stop for us. Our site (51) had easy water access and the fishing was great. Owners making constant improvements and they take the time to get your opinions and make sure you are having a good time. Store is kind of small but has the necessities. It would be nice to have a bigger game room but that can be easily overlooked. Word of advice if you are going here: watch for the Sunnybrook Ice Cream Store, the campground road is right next to that and the store actually hides the sign. The owner said he will fix that problem by next year.
Has potential, needs some cleaning up. Sites were huge and level. Game room was nice, store was well stocked. This was nicer than we expected and nicer than some higher rated campgrounds. We may return again.
Not sure why the other reviews were putting this place down. Some of the roads are kind of tight and some of the sites may be tough to get into, but if you take away the trees it would take away some of the beauty. Our site was almost level, very shaded, lots of activities, nice pond and pool. Everyone friendly, including the owners. Who cares where they are from? The store is a bit small. Next time the bikes come along. We will be here again. Pleasant surprise after reading the other reviews.
Only thing this place lacks is a fishing pond, but fishing is nearby. Staff is friendly, great place for kids. Restaurant is excellent. Being a newer campground, most of the sites lack shade and become toasty in the hot sun. There once, and our second trip is reserved.
Where to start? When we arrived, the owners informed us that the sites we reserved are prone to flooding and since a hurricane was coming through, they let us walk around a few sites and pick what we wanted. The activites were excellent, everyone camping there and working there were friendly. Sites were very private. It's hard to imagine how much we enjoyed this place even though we got tons of rain that weekend.
