Rate is based on a 1 month stay. This is a lovely RV resort, well maintained and tightly controlled by the owner. Very convenient to Indianapolis attractions and the Colts training camp.We would have rated it much higher except for 3 major issues - 1. We were there for one month but had to do our own lawn mowing. (or pay them $15 a week to mow). 2. There were 3 power outages while we were there and an all night loss of water. 3. We are 39 ft. long and had to back into a lot that had a hill directly behind it - which left our bumper backed up into the hillside. There are a lot of nice level gravel sites but were apparently booked up by groups. We will stay there again but for a shorter time and a better site, keeping at least 1/4 tank of fresh water.
We stayed here one month. This is an old campground that needs a lot of renovation. The pull-thrus are very close to each other with tight turns on the gravel roadways. The electric service delivered about 108 to 110 volts during heavy air conditioner use. The "game-room" is a couple of machines in the office. The website ad is misleading. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We appreciated receiving packages and mail during our one month stay. The location is very convenient to the Erie Island area attractions, while still being remote enough to be considered camping. Caution - bring LOTS of ant pesticide. Our site was loaded with ants and mounds. We would stay here again but only for a night, not one month.
Rate is based on a one month stay plus weekly pump outs in a transient pull-through site. On the PLUS side: long pull through sites that handle unit and additional vehicle. Beautiful trees and grass with regular mowing. Very responsive owners via cell phone (office is open regularly only on Fri, Sat. & Sun). Very family oriented with activities, small sand beach, playground. Keeps good rules on controlling noise. Well water was good quality. On the MINUS side: very steep winding road that at places won't allow two passing vehicles. Tricky for big RVs and the faint hearten. Much of old asphalt road is pot holes and ruts and poorly marked big speed bumps. The top of the ridge is the pull throughs in the middle of an oval gravel road. Constant golf cart and vehicle traffic with huge billows of dust clouds. Washed our truck one day and filthy an hour later. Several episodes of low voltage and one power outage. Only two shower houses at the top of the ridge and quite distant and at the bottom at the office. Porta-Johns for the rest of the area. Weekdays nice and peaceful, weekends a zoo with massive tent groups and barking dogs. Boat launch is rugged with no readily accessible dock to the launch area. All-in-all a very nice stay but a campground best suited for seasonal and tent camping. Price is right.
Rate is based on AAA discount. Basically a big field with spots of gravel laid out to make a site. Same with sites near trees but they cost more. Trees are big old live oaks that might be risky in big winds. Close to highway noise but convenient to Savannah. Our site had only 50 amp service and no shut off switch or breaker on the pedestal. Could be dangerous having to unplug with live power, especially if raining. Good for a couple nights only.
Campground is only 4 years old and in beautiful condition with paved roads and concrete sites with patios. This is an adult park reasonably close to I-10, to Mobile AL sightseeing and to the Gulf of Mexico resort areas. We were greeted by the host as soon as we entered the park and were invited by a group of current guests to join them for dinner that night! When our next itinerary campground lost our reservations, this park quickly arranged to accommodate us for another night. Rate is standard with no applicable club discounts. Wonderful, clean, quiet and friendly!
Rate is based on AAA discount and does not include tax. Overpriced but convenient to interstate. No exercise facility. Would rate this park higher but being directly under the flight path of the nearby airport was loud and annoying. Good for a quick stopover.
Stayed for a week. Absolutely awesome. Huge landscaped concrete sites with concrete patio, picnic table, and grill. Fabulous facilities with big blue lakes to kayak or paddle boat, sandy beach for swimming, and also fishing. Wonderful office/clubhouse, pool with spa, exercise facilities. Utilities include city water with excellent water pressure. Good TV station selections via antenna. Located in beautiful forest with no highway or train noise. Excellent business practices with full disclosure email reservation confirmation. Very friendly and helpful staff. Price discounts on 3 golf courses available through the office. Will definitely return for a longer stay.
Rate is based on Good Sam discount. The site and facilities were adequate for a short stay. Place is well maintained with strict rules and huge speed humps to keep everyone at 10 mph or less. There is a pool with no clubhouse or bathhouse facility, no exercise room, and no cable TV. Would have rated this park higher except for poor business practices. We made a reservation 2 months ago with a nonrefundable deposit and an agreed upon total cost and number of days. We reconfirmed this reservation the day before arrival. We feel that this constituted a legitimate contract. However, when we arrived we were charged another 15%. When we questioned the accuracy, the owner very rudely announced that his prices were subject to change without notice and that his taxes had gone up. 15%? No mention of course about our nonrefundable deposit, so we were stuck. There were plenty of open sites, so we suggest avoiding a reservation with a deposit and be prepared for unannounced price increases. We will not return.
Nightly rate is based on one month stay. Nice facilities and many activities. Very friendly people and courteous staff, especially the work campers. Emphasis is on lot ownership but ho high pressure. Never could get decent Wi-Fi signal. Had several power outages and generally low water pressure. On site sewage treatment plant gets a bit odiferous so suggest a site closer to the office and pool areas. Nearest town of Wauchula has a few stores for essentials and a couple decent restaurants but that's about it. A lot of the stores on the main street have ceased business. The nearest mall or movie theater is a 30 mile drive. Great for a short stay only.
