Our site was close to the pool and camp store. The shower house was in good shape, clean, and looked like a fresh coat of paint had been added this year. The staff was very friendly, there was some noise from the nearby airport (small planes only), that quit soon after dark. Overall, a good campground, and we'll be back again next year. We chose this campsite because it was close to Cedar Point, and also Vermilion Ohio, where we were racing a triathlon.
Second time we've camped at this park, this site was very small, pad listed as 66 feet, but a 28 foot trailer and an Expedition wouldn't fit on the pad. Bathrooms needed some work, paint and cleaning. The Showers were OK, but hot water lasted 3-5 minutes, and we tried for a hot shower at three different times throughout the day. The Dump station was very nice, near the trash, and easily accessible.
My wife and I camped in our 28' Trailer, in the Pet area. We had a site listed as 'Slight Slope', and 'Afternoon Sun'. The slight slope was exactly right, not enough to be a problem, if you had a few blocks for the jacks. The site had lots of trees, very tall, and provided lots of shade, there was some afternoon sun, but not much. The bathrooms were a little dated, and I cleaned the shower head to improve water flow! Otherwise, the bathrooms and facilities were in good shape, pretty clean, and the wife was even happy with the showers.
This was a great place to camp, even if the entrance was pretty steep to get up into the campground. The showers and bathrooms were very clean, and well taken care of. It hadn't rained in awhile, so it was pretty dusty in the campground. That said, these were the largest campsites we had ever stayed in, very nice and shady too. The staff was friendly, and stopped by each day to visit for a few minutes, and say "Hi". Will return later in the year to this campsite.
Very Nice for a KOA, the lot was long enough for our trailer, and tow vehicle. The lot we had wasn't really wide, like most KOA's. We did have to pay extra for late departure, but it was nice that they delivered fire wood, and picked up trash for each spot. The dog walks were the nicest we've ever used, large enough for our greyhounds. We didn't have any problems with mosquitos, even though we were parked pretty close to the stream. The bathrooms were clean, and well maintained. We'll stay here later this year, when we go back to race in the area again.
Campground is under New Management, and are making repairs and modifications to the Campground. There are a number of long-term campers there, but the campground was clean, and the staff really friendly. Lakeside sites were $35, others are $25, and there is 50 Amp service at every site now.
Excellent campsite, it is a ways from the Interstate exit, but it is a quiet campground. Wonderful pull through spots on the main road, and a nice tree to provide shade from the afternoon sun. The showers were good, with plenty of hot water, and they were clean. Our site needed a longer sewer hose, 25' to reach when we parked, otherwise the tree would have interfered with out slide. Plan on going back next September.
Smaller KOA, the Kabin bathrooms were really nice. Had a pull-through, and had to move after 5 days, since a monthly user was coming back. They had me in another site very quickly, and the next site was even better. Some of the sites have a small brick patio, others have a nicer and larger one. We actually overstayed our reservation, and they found us a spot! We plan on using this KOA at least twice a year. It is a 6 miles out of town, and be aware that Verizion cellular doesn't work there. If you cycle, the Poudre Canyon Entrance is right outside the campsite.
Stayed twice, on the way to/from Colorado. First time, checked in with a reservation, coming back, just dropped in. Had a full hookup with the reservation, and only water and electric as a drop in. The guy that showed us to our site asked if we wanted a fire that night, and he went off and came back with a semi-wheel, buried the thing and dropped off some wood for us. They are in the process of upgrading the sites, and the sites are a little close, but for a one nite stay, a wonderful place to pull in. By 10pm, all of the kids were in bed, and it was quiet as a ghost town.
Camped in the Pet Area, the area had a good amount of shade, it rained while we were there, and the site didn't have good drainage. The bathrooms were OK, the mens room was clean, the womens needed a little work in the showers. The neighbors were fairly noisy, and I ended up getting the Ranger to shut their animals up. Will camp here again, since I can't believe will meet the same jerks again.
