This is an older park with lots of permanent sites that are mostly in a different area from the short stay campers. Sites are all back-in and spacious. Bathroom is in bad disrepair but is about to undergo restoration. Pool is small but clean. Only 30 amp electric available but it was very adequate. We were able to access our satellite signal with no problem. Owners live on property and are very friendly and helpful. We would stop here again if in the area.
This park was a pleasant surprise. It was clean and well laid out, it had nice pads for parking and some grass. Conveniently located for touring all of the Island, nice shopping areas and restaurants. Walking to the beach was a daily exercise. We had a great time there.
We stayed at this park through Coast to Coast, and liked it so much we decided to spend the winter months there. It was extremely well run, office staff was very friendly and efficient. The park grounds were really nice and clean. Park Model homes had beautiful landscaping. It is convenient to shopping, eating, theatres, etc.
This park is a wonderful country spot where you can relax and enjoy peace and quiet. It is convenient to several towns: 30 minutes from Raleigh, 20 minutes from Apex, Fuquay, Sanford, and just 10 minutes from Jordan Lake. It is also convenient to such industries as Shearon Harris Nuclear Plant, Novartis Pharmaceutical Plant, Dynea USA, Triangle Brick, Moncure Plywood and others making it a great place to stay while working in the area. A new laundry/bath house/office building is being built and should be in service shortly after the first of the year (2009). Wi-Fi service is also in the works to be installed at the same time. Dickens RV Park is affiliated with Passport America that offers a 50% discount toward your camping fees. We spent a month at this park and look forward to many more visits in the future. When you are in the area check it out, you will be glad you did.
