We really enjoyed this campground. Since it is a state park, we had to pay the vehicle entrance fee. I chose to purchase the annual vehicle pass for $25.00. The fees to stay two nights was a $42.00 Use Fee and a $3.00 Transaction Fee. The scenery was very nice, especially for Kansas. Lake with fishing, swimming, and rental canoes and paddleboats. Lots of trees and hills for hiking. Viewed loads of geese and saw two deer. Negotiating the park with my 35' fifth wheel was easy. Sites were gravel/grass and almost level. Bathhouse looked fairly new from outside, but I didn't go inside. We want to return to this camp for a future visit.
Quiet campground. Easy in and out and negotiating within the park with my 35' fifthwheel. Site was VERY level! WIFI signal was strong. Gas pumps out front no longer in use. Not much on frills, but quiet, and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.
This is my favorite place to camp. The park is very nice and near the river (although you can't see the river from the campground). The city pool is nearby. They have a dump station as well. It is very well maintained. There is also a drive-in movie in town during the summer. I highly recommend it.
I didn't get to actually camp here. The campground is closed as the city completely remodels it. They have torn down the bath house and built a new, cement block bath house (still under construction). They have also brought in a lot of fill and rock to level the place out, so this should solve the constant mud and puddles issues in the past. Also, they have put in all new electrical pedestals. I dont' know when it will re-open. I am looking forward to that day.
