The location can't be beat if you desire the full Graceland experience. The staff was incredibly friendly, the store well stocked, and the park clean and secure. Shuttle service is available (and suggested) for all downtown Memphis attractions and one restaurant will pick you up at your site in a pink caddy! We had so much fun that we stayed an extra night. No worries about the city - it is like any other. Consider this park to be a good base camp only - not a "nesting" park with lots to see and do within the grounds.
Perfectly located to Battlefield National Park. Easy in, easy out, very friendly staff and very clean and quiet. Sites are well maintained. This is a great base for visiting the area but wouldn't be suggested for those looking for a "camping" experience. There is a pool and playground but amenities are otherwise limited and vistas are nil.
Fantastic staff, exceptionally clean park, very, very safe. Sites are indeed well spaced and the entire park is tree covered. I've looked at every park in the Dallas Metro area: this is the one that I chose.
Perfect for beach lovers and ocean front sites are a must - pay the surcharge to have the ocean in your window when you awake. The only downsides to this location are two - the sites are very, very close together and they alternate facing in and out. As a result, you are canopy to canopy with your neighbor with no buffer. Hook-ups can be a real stretch if you are nose in. That being said, the staff is wonderful, the beach is expansive, and the experience delightful - if and only if privacy is not an issue.
We stopped here for one night while visiting our son in Garner. The park is truly a mobile home park on a very slow conversion to an RV Park. They have a long way to go. There are no amenities outside of the normal hook-ups and things are very interesting or attractive. This is fine for a quick overnight but I would avoid for a destination or extended stay. The reservation process is entirely informal so don't expect confirmation.
This is definitely a throw-back camp ground so be prepared to actually "camp". This is not the place for those that prefer concrete pads and shoulder to shoulder living. Big rigs will have challenges leveling and navigating; however once you are set up . . . it is simply glorious. Be absolutely certain that you speak with the manager about your rig and which site will accommodate you. We did fine in a Pace 36D but we took it really slow. Do not arrive after dark! There are no interior lights in the camp ground and sites can be hard to find. Plus, it is heavily wooded and you might scrape a tree. Interior roads are paved but narrow and twisting. Most sites are very private and all have a great view of the lake. Sites are blanketed in a natural carpet of pine needles. No trouble with hookups and water pressure is strong. If you enjoy rustic, "camping" campgrounds. This is perfect. Bring water craft and bikes!
Easy check in and very well organized. Site layout gives plenty of room between sites, however, limited privacy in most. Though it was just my wife and I, the campground appeared very family friendly with a game room, playground, pool, and lots of open space. Trash pick-up at the site every morning was a perk and quiet hours well respected. If visiting to tour the Civil War Sites or tour DC, bring a vehicle - it is further away from the attractions than we expected. The "lake" is really a small pond so don't plan on water activities. The grounds are clean, sites are gravel but level, and the entire operation very well run. A good base for civil war buffs.
Clean, friendly, and truly within walking distance to a wonderful beach. Very jovial group of seasonal and full-time residents, and a wonderful staff. Peaceful and filled with great energy. The park is well manicured and the sites are well maintained. The only inconvenience was that the office is closed on Sunday and we could not access the Wi-Fi until Monday.
