This is an excellent park to stay in: the sites were roomy even for big rigs and the grounds were always well groomed. The owners were friendly and helpful and kept the store well stocked with food items and RV parts. There were some long-term campers here but they were neat and their sites were kept clean. Since it is such a great place to stay: it is best to call ahead if you are coming to area, they tend to stay booked. We will be back again.
This is not a bad park but I rated low because it almost floods in the center part when it rains. We were lucky to be in between the two "lakes" that formed when it rained really heavy. One side drained quickly after the rain stopped but the other side did not and stayed muddy for days. There is no cell phone service but that is not their fault. The locked gate as we understood it was you can get out at any time, but returning after midnight you park at the office and walk to your site. Would be a problem for handicapped people, like me, luckily we are usually in before midnight. Would camp here again.
This is beautiful park to spend some relaxing time in, and the grounds are beautiful. For a fall trip the leaves will be spectacular. The managers were friendly, nice to visit with and concerned about our comfort. There are many things to do in the area and there are some great restaurants to visit. We definitely would visit here again.
This is an excellent park. We paid for the week so we could explore the area and had a nice shaded site, great cable and Wi-Fi. Park was clean, quiet, friendly with nice sized spaces. We decided to leave one day early simply because we through exploring and as we were getting ready the owner checked to see if anything was wrong. We assured him we would be back if we traveled this area again. Great park, we had plenty of room to maneuver.
We camped here in a 40 ft. Motorhome and that is the top length they should take. We had a couple of times where we barely eased through. Since we were staying two nights they put us in a pull through near front of park. Road noise was a real problem. The back of the coach was so near the highway we could tell what the driver was wearing. The lady in office was rather snippy when asked on the phone about road noise and was very unfriendly when we arrived. The other problem we had was the sites were so close to each other that our coach filled with smoke from a neighbors fire. The weather was cool so everyone had fires going snd we left after only one night just to get out of the smoke and noise.
The staff is very friendly and the location peaceful. They plan activities for the campers, nice playground for the kis, but that said, the park layout is odd, narrow inside roads and most sites are such that it is very difficult to level. When our jacks came down on the blocks it buried the blocks in loose gravel and we were still not level. Sites are short and you have to be creative to park car near coach.
This park is immaculate, the people are very friendly and accommodating. It is the perfect place to park and explore Southwest Virginia and part of Tennessee. They create a sense of community by having a local group perform on Friday nights in the pavilion and encourage you to sing along. We chose a back-in site, and the owner told us that we probably wouldn't be able to use satellite because of mountain, but their cable tv was so great it didn't matter.
This park is in a lovely setting, but that is the only upside. The RV sites are hodgepodge at best, different sizes, different hook-ups with some working, most not and we were basically left to work it out for ourselves. Ended up in a site using water from the site next to us. We found water at one, sewer at another, owner was irritated when we reported sewage leaking from site next to us. Did send someone to look at it and he was rude, although it was pumped out. Asked when we were leaving! We felt unwelcome at best. Park somewhere else and drive in to visit Pearl Museum!
This park is in a beautiful area and offer lots of extras such as pancake breakfast, hayrides, etc. The owners are super friendly. The reason I gave it a 7 is that the sites themselves need a little extra work. Granted the terrain is steep, but the sites are narrow and uneven. They offered a picnic table and grill in our site but it was unusable, there was no level ground to move the table in order to sit on it. If you don't mind dealing with the rough site it is a really nice place to spend a few days.
