I'll echo others that this really is a pretty amazing place. Even though it's new, they did a great job of laying it out to take advantage of the surroundings so that it doesn't have that "parking lot" look. Kids loved the indoor pool (and I'm sure adults love the fact that there is a non-kids swim time). The one nitpick is about the sewer hookups. Though there were two per site (nice touch), neither was close enough for our hose to reach (never had that problem before) and one ends up about 2' from the neighbor's picnic table and the other was about 3' from their door - I thought I was imagining this until I noticed a similar post about it from a couple of years ago. But, we would definitely come again!
This is indeed an extremely nice state park right next to the river. We only stayed 1 night but could easily stay for several days in the future. Just to emphasize that it is the "B" loop that is more open and spread out (but really no shade) and the "A" loop that is wooded but a little closer together. Also, as a previous poster noted, while all the RV sites have electrical and water, only a few have sewer.
This is an older park but it served us very well for an overnight stay. I'd guess almost half of the spaces are taken by permanents, but they all seem nice and the sites are very well kept. Staff is very friendly and helpful; the WiFi was strong; the restrooms are very clean and the showers have plenty of hot water!
Wow. It is hard to believe that this is so close to the I-5. It was like camping in the middle of the woods (and I mean that in a good way). The long previous post pretty much covers the other details. I'll add that the kids loved the big park/field and the restrooms look like they have had a recent renewal (they are immaculate!). We would definitely come back for a longer stay.
This was exactly what we needed for an overnight stopover off the I-5. Friendly staff. Wife was very impressed by the restrooms and showers. Easy in and out. Would definitely use again in the same circumstance.
