We stayed in the 10 hook-up part of the county park. They state full service, but only 30 amp and not a trash can in site. Backs up to a trailer park. The area was quiet but no view of the lake. We would not stay here again for that price. The $7 sites are on the lake but very, very steep entrances.
This is a no frills quiet park. The price is right. The sites are narrow but one stays here to sightsee, not sit in the park. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We had deer right in front of us in the field. We would stay again if ever in the area.
The owners are trying very hard to keep this older park looking nice. We did not notice the highway noise. Site were a little narrow but nicely shaded. We did not use the wifi as we have our own and their cable worked fine. Restrooms were clean. A little expensive, but the only one in town! We would stay again, for a week. There are many activities in town.
This is a beautiful well-run state park. Reservations are a must, especially for the best sites. There really are no bad sites in Wheeler Loop. Showers by marina are clean, as bathrooms, otherwise there are vault toilets. 2 other lakes nearby for fishing and kayaking. We can't wait to return.
Roads and sites were very dirty and dusty. Low voltage on one leg of 50 amp service so could not run bedroom air. They did have a moderate continental breakfast, and staff were nice. We would not stay here again, even for one night. Keep going to next destination.
Very well manicured spots. Each site had a patch of grass and sites were marked by curbing. A little expensive as there were no amenities, for example, no laundry. We stayed 5 nights and would definitely return. Staff was great.
This is a nice park for an overnight...we had to pay extra for 50 amp service and for a small dog. There are about a quarter of the sites taken up by long-termers or workers. The Wi-Fi was really non existent. When it worked, it was super slow. If you do not have satellite TV, there is no TV. There is a very small area that is supposed to be for cell service; we only got one bar. There is only one place for trash disposal, by the office. There are a lot of hikes and things to see and the pizza place in town is great! It is very wooded (hence no cell service) but close to highway. They say no tents, but there was a tent and another tent off a 5th wheel. The showers and bathrooms were so/so.
This is basically a parking lot. Only trees are for the back-in sites, and the road leading out of campground from the site is very narrow. Be careful making a reservation here. We tried to cancel our reservation with 8 days notice and they would not refund any money. It is close to town but not walking distance. There is no highway noise. It is OK for a night, but campground in Napa is better.
This is a great place for overnight or a couple of days. Trees and creek make it serene. Deer visit the creek. Wide and long spaces. On the highway but noise is not noticeable. Electric boxes could use some updating, but, on the whole a great place. Staff was great!
This is a five-star for serenity! If you want to get away from it all and feel the grass between your toes, this is the place! Deer feeding right in front of us, sitting under the shade trees. Spacious sites. A little bit of heaven and the owners are super. Not fancy but so relaxing...we will come back!
While the park is very clean and well kept, we feel we are in a city. The tow cars or trucks are parked on the street in front of the RV's so there is only one-way traffic. This gives the park a very claustrophobic feeling. Staff was very friendly.
