The KOA park is a very clean and nice park. Located conveniently close to shopping and the area attractions. The park has beautiful trees which make for nice shade and they are no low hanging branches that hit your RV. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. They have security which is very nice. Most of the sites are level and there is plenty of room for big rigs. I did have some problems with getting internet service. There is two places designated for your dogs. One is a big grassy area and the other is a large fenced in area where you can take your pet off the lease. The park overall is very nice and we will return here again.
Staff takes pride in this RV Park. We stayed here for 3 nights just trying out our new RV. I was so impressed with the staff and the park. Employees made sure we were happy and everytime someone checked out of their site there was a employee right there making sure the site & grill was all clean for the next camper. The park was VERY clean and well maintained and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We have a 42ft, fifth wheel and most of the sites were big rig friendly. Nice location right on the river. We will be back to stay here again. Our $35.00 rate was a patio site.
My husband and I have been staying at this RV park for several years. We love the park because of it's location on Carrizo Canyon Road. The park itself backs up to the Lincoln National Forest. Great hiking & ATV trails. The surroundings are just beautiful you truly do feel like your way up in the mountains. Close to the downtown area and the Inn Of The Mountain Gods. The park itself is in great need of maintenance. We have watched this park over the past few years deteriorate. RV sites are very close together and they advertise pull throughs and I only see two sites that might be considered a pull through. I don't know if I would call this park Big Rig friendly due to the fact I have seen some motorhomes have difficulty getting their slides out. Be prepared, sites will require some leveling. Never seen inside the cabins, but they look nice from the outside. The Wi-Fi is a joke: must be right in front of the office for it to work. The trout pond used to be a neat place well maintained and stocked with fish. It is still stocked with trout, but the pond itself is falling apart. The cement sides are cracking & buckling. Sad Site! During the summer months the park is always full I think that is due to the great location. We camp here is a 38 foot rig and I give the location a 10 but the park itself I can only give a 4. I hope the owners realize what a true treasure they have and take action and make the necessary repairs. The owner's and staff are very friendly.
My husband and I were so impressed with this RV park. After a long day of travel we pulled into this wonderful KOA park. We were greeted with friendly and helpful staff who escorted us to our deluxe patio site. The park is located between Carlsbad and Artesia right off Hwy 285. The park was clean and very well maintained. What was even nicer was after a long day of travel we did not even have to cook. A delicious BBQ meal was delivered right to our door. The Wi-FI was excellent. Only stayed one night, but we will return for a longer stay. Great KOA!
This is a very nice & clean RV park. Even with the extreme drought in Texas the park was so pretty & green. Sites are very large & great for the big rigs. Staff was nice and very helpful during our stay. We took advantage of the shuttle bus service to the trade days and it worked out great for us. Free BBQ dinner Saturday night. Price reflects our stay during the First Monday Trade Days which is a little more but with the free shuttle bus & BBQ it was well worth the price. Pet friendly. We stayed here 5 nights.
My husband and I have stayed at many campgrounds that call themselves resorts, but I have to say that the Buckhorn is truly a resort and it is the best RV resort we have stayed at. Immaculate grounds, sparkling adult & family pools & tennis courts. The laundry facility was clean & nice. The staff was very friendly & helpful and the night security was a great. Sites are big & spacious. Our rate was with 10% discount.
Nice and clean RV park close to Lake Nasworthy. The park was very quite and they had a nice pool area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The owner has been doing a lot work trying to improve the park and make it better. They do have new patio sites with picnic tables for big rigs. Would stay here again.
This RV park shows no pictures of the RV sites on their website and there is a reason for that. The park is very ran down. The sites are so unlevel that there is no way to get your rig level no matter what you do. The road (Juniper Rd) that you have to travel down to the RV park is so rough and narrow you have to wonder if you will have a RV left once you get there. The owners of the park are very unfriendly and not helpful at all. When we arrived we were the only customers in the park and it remained that way for our 4 day stay. The wireless Internet service was a joke, there was no service. And forget using your satellite dish, too many trees. The restrooms and showers I did not go into, because they looked so old and run down. Way over priced at $40.00 per night. My advise is to go stay at the COE Park or Whitney State Park.
We only stayed here for one night while traveling through, but this RV Park was super nice. All paved level sights. Great for big rigs lots of space. The only thing I noticed was, there was no store on site for supplies/food. Nice pet area and swimming pool. Price reflects discount. Normally $40.00 per night.
This KOA is a very clean and nice RV Park. All the utilities worked very well. Great internet service. The staff was very friendly and made sure we were very happy. They even have a shuttle bus to take you to all the attractions. Very kid friendly. Laundry room facilities were clean and worked great. RV park is located close to all the attractions. Plenty of room even for the big rigs. Would stay here again.
The staff was OK but not all that friendly. The sites are very tight and not much room. They do have a couple of sites that are bigger, but you must call the office to reserve one of these sites. Do not rely on the internet reservations. Due to all the I-30 construction trying to get to the KOA is a nightmare, and all the traffic noise is horrible. My advise if your driving a big rig you might want to think about another RV park.
