We stayed at Hardeeville for two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed it! There are two parts to this campground: the front which is not very shady and close to the road (you'll hear road noise, but it's a country road) and the back which is very wooded/shady and drowns out most of the road noise. We stayed in the back. Sites are mostly gravel and fairly level. Some sites are oddly placed, so pick the one that suits you. There's a laundry room, ice with an honor system box, drink machine, and one other building with two toilets (fairly clean). No showers, pool, activities, etc. It's just a place to park. Wi-Fi was excellent - steady 1Mbps signal. Good water pressure and power was fine. Free firewood! Just go to the pile and pick it up. Bring bug spray - mosquitoes will eat you alive and ants are everywhere. We loved our stay and would return. PA rate is $21 with 50a/W/E/S.
St John's is a multi-purpose complex. The portion of their property that backs up to the interstate is the flea market and is only open on the weekends. We visited, but bought nothing. It's definitely more 'flea market' than 'yard sale' type merchandise. There is a short road (gated) with a pond that connects the flea market to the campground. In the campground, there is the 'main row' that is a set of only a couple pull-through sites. These sites are extremely long cement slab (but very broken/cracked) sites. On each side of the 'main row' there are several more back-in sites in the grass. Some of these are 30a and some do not have sewer. Then there are several more rows for the permanent/long term residents. They do a background check for these residents and we had absolutely no problems. No rowdy people, no parties, no noise at all, really. The RV sites themselves are far enough from the road where you aren't disturbed by the road noise although you do hear it. Electric was fine, good water pressure, easy hookups, pretty good cable TV. (It got fuzzy a few times; and ask for an adapter in the office if you need one. It's just a piece of cable coming out of the ground. They will provide male-male connectors.) Has blazing fast WiFi. (12Mbps, when it worked. Dropped often.) Clean but simple bathrooms/showers, decent (but pricey) laundry. Very friendly in the office and they have plenty of maps/coupons. Overall, we enjoyed our 2 week visit. They have an excellent rate via PA and are the perfect distance for visiting St Augustine. I could work via Wi-Fi but needed by Sprint card as a backup since it dropped often (the internet connectivity, not the routers). Very basic, older park but met our needs as a home to visit St Augustine. We'd stay here again if we were in the area.
The BEST RV park in Pensacola! Wonderful owners (and family) who are extremely friendly and helpful. They welcomed us, led us to our site, helped us back in, provided maps, directions, and were always available to call on. Located on their property (current or previous nursery) in the back away from highway noises but extremely close to I-10. Level gravel sites, good electricity and water, some shady sites, clean bathrooms, nothing to complain about! We will stay here anytime we're in the Pensacola area.
Avalon Landing is a very nice park with excellent hosts that are willing do go the extra mile to make you happy. We stayed here about 6 weeks and were very pleased with our stay. They are currently expanding on the other side of the water, so there is a little construction noise during the day. Also, they are right on a road that has a fair amount of traffic all day, so you'll hear some noise there. They do have wireless but it was not very reliable while we were there; however, it does appear they were working to improve it. This is a small park, your big rig will fit, but your car will have to sit slightly in the grass or on the campground road. You're not crammed next to your neighbor, though. There's also sewer connections on both sides of the RV, which is nice because you can choose to pull in or back in. There is a very small pool and laundry facilities as well. Overall, a very nice park, no major frills, but clean, well kept, and excellent hosts. We will stay here next year again.
Very basic campground right off the interstate. Most sites were not long enough to fit my RV and toad. The entire campground is aged and needs repair, paint, etc. Backs up to a truck stop and you can clearly see them over the fence. We checked in late and couldn't use the Wi-Fi because we needed a key. I'd only stay here again for another overnight stop, never longer.
Very nice campground. Grounds are well kept and the layout is excellent. There's no wireless at the sites, only at the clubhouse. They're nigh time security at the front gate and it's double-gated. The office staff isn't very friendly and problems may or may not get fixed. If you plan to leave after the office is closed, go early and talk with them so you can get your gate key deposit back and figure out how to return the keys. Overall, a great place to stay.
We stayed here for about a Month during October and early November. The staff was extremely helpful and the neighbors were friendly. The pool and clubhouse are quite nice as well. We instantly made friends and were even invited to a birthday party of one of the lot owners. I have no idea what people are talking about with the sewer smell - I never smelled a thing. We absolutely loved the park and would certainly stay here again. We're full-timers.
Pricey during peak season, but overall a great park. We stayed on a Super Site which gives you a huge picnic table and oversized cement slab. The place was packed when we were there and we actually had to move to the KOA for the last week we were there because they didn't have any more spaces. Be prepared for loud music during the evenings at the pool and other shelters. Also, during the day the jet noise is very, very loud. There's always someone at the entrance to greet you, too. We'd stay here again for sure.
Only stayed here one night. No gated entrance. Sites were pretty close to each other where I stayed. Long enough to where I didn't have to detach my toad, though. Restaurant was not open at 9:15 AM for breakfast; seems they're only open from 8-9 AM.
The camp hosts are great! They escorted me to my site and even helped guide me in. I worked from this location and the Wi-Fi was very reliable and the speed was more than acceptable. The campground is gated and you get an access key. Nightly rate for us included the monthly fee plus electricity averaged over our stay. Electricity seemed pricey, but overall $27 a night is not bad. We'll certainly stay here again.
