Earlier reviews reflect a "little run-down". They have new owners now who are working hard at upgrading this place. It is located in forested area with access to the bay - very nice. The Internet was great!
This is a very nice campground with full services and then some -- including a nice store with plenty of supplies, swimming pool, restaurant, bar, and more. The folks running this place are very customer service oriented. Our biggest problem, like so many other campgrounds, is that we state we need good internet because we are travel writers. They tried to accommodate us; however, even then, it works, but, mostly very poorly, and sometimes not at all. Only other problem was this morning when their lawn folks came in - no problem -- would expect them to keep the grounds nice. But for whatever reason, they kept utilizing our camping spot as a turnaround zone, over, and over, and over. Though we were trying to work, we finally left the campground, as it became sooooooooo annoying. Nothing about "quietwoods" with those guys.
We were having trouble finding a campground. This place was nice and had all services. Staff very friendly. Most sites appear to be full-time or permanently leased for lake home use. WiFi not good, even though we were parked right next to the office. But, to give them credit, they said they were working on bringing in someone to help and were very responsive. We have only a 22 foot RV. Access and parking for a big rig looks very tough.
This place is great in a pinch. We stayed here on Labor Day weekend, as we could find nothing else. Basically, you are camping in a parking lot with a tiny bit of grass. It worked in a bind, but, no amenities outside of basic utilities. NOTE: Basically, their website and others say that you can check in at night and on weekend, via a drop box. But, this has changed. If you don't get there by 3'ish, you are SOL. In their defense, they are working on an automatic system. But, during out visit, we saw numerous folks pull in and leave, after discovering a locked utility box.
You give up some amenities here for the view and seclusion. Great 'little' campground with some spots available for reservation. Limited pull through's. On holiday weekends would highly recommend reserving spot on line. This is an AT&T dead zone, sometimes not even voice available in the park.
We used our Passport membership for a great discount. Wonderful campground, very flat, in the midst of a corn field. Easy access to Amana Colonies. Very friendly management. Great for larger RV's as all appear to be pull through spaces. Would stay here again for sure.
This place is nice, shady, well-kept, and the people running it are very friendly. The only problem we had with the campground itself was with the Internet constantly going in and out during our entire stay. The worst problem; however, has nothing to do with the campground. It is the location. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night and there is a racetrack nearby that is very loud and continues far into the night. Recommend checking Valley Speedway's schedule if you want to get some sleep. For the price, we would not stay here again.
This IS NOT the rodeo arena campground as stated in a prior review and the reason we stayed here. Outside of a fairly good location and the only place in town with all hookups, would not recommend. No amenities whatsoever. $20 per night far too high. There is a state park just about 10-15 miles to the east where you will spend less and get more.
Friendly staff and good RV Park. Great Wi-Fi close to the office, and just off highway 90 and 83 interchange. Did not use bathrooms while here, so don't know about them. Spacious and it appears to have some long term residents. Great place to stay to explore New Iberia and Avery Island which are close by.
If you are wanting to get close to the French Quarter without paying through the nose, this is a great RV Park. They offer shuttle service to and from the French Quarter from morning to around 10pm. Great WiFi and Cable TV. The RV Park is very tight though, and while they are pet friendly, there's not a lot of places to take your dog, other than your own area and up and down the single road in/out. Would recommend to those wanting to spend quality time exploring New Orleans. We marked "do not know" on family friendly simply because of the tight space.
We can see why this RV Park is rated one of the best in the South. Great location just a few miles from the Gulf Coast. Very active with guests with planned outings and activities. Very clean and great Wi-Fi throughout the park during off peak hours. Although we stayed for only a few days (at passport rates during the week), there are several snow birds that come back year after year. Highly recommend this RV Park. While we did not use the shower/bathroom facilities, we did use their laundry, which was clean.
Good location, nice view of the river, very accommodating and friendly staff, some sites need better leveling as we had several inches of water at our front door. WI-FI is non-existent, unless you're in the clubhouse, I guess. We were parked right in front and still couldn't get it.
Extreme southern hospitality. Wonderful staff. Historic location (marker on site). Can't say enough good things about the owners and their crew. Staff constantly making sure roads are good and that customers are taken care of. Small store in office made it very convenient. Great WiFi throughout the campground.
Beautiful area. Resort includes a restaurant that we heard was good, but we didn't try it. Spent three nights here. Wi-fi advertised at all sites; however, it was better in some spots than others. Management guided us accordingly. First come first serve on locations. Fairly close (2 or 3 miles) to shopping. No onsite laundry but laundromat only a couple miles away. We did not notice any advertisement of cable TV, but they had it in abundance. Peaceful stay and would stay here again.
Reserved and paid two nights due to advertising that Wi-Fi was available at all campsites. Unfortunately, this was not true. Wi-Fi did not work at all. Campsite was uneven and a little difficult to get into due to concrete retaining wall on one side. Nicely landscaped, very close to shopping and services. Left after one night and received refund for second night without a problem. Thought the price a little high compared to other campgrounds.
Full hookups and level parking, nice and quiet setting. No other amenities. Park is part of a gun club which is closed in winter months (when we visited), so all was good. No on-site management, honor pay system (OK with us). Would not visit during gun club activity (March-October) with regular shoots on Thursday nights. Rate posted is Passport discount. Would not stay here at full price of $30/night.
We found the manager on site to be very friendly and helpful. Guided us to our spot and made sure we were aware of the amenities. Only stayed one night. Clean and well kept. Accepts Passport members so we were very happy with the rates. WI-FI adequate, although just a little slow compared to a DSL connection. Load times were not a hindrance, but it may be difficult to stream movies here.
