Nice little reasonably priced KOA right off of I-95, very convenient. Grass and gravel sites in a shaded, wooded area. Staff was friendly and efficient at check in. Pool was newer looking but, when we arrived in the evening, was in need of cleaning. Bathrooms were clean and showers were also, even in the evening. Camp store was well stocked. Very quiet location. Would stay here again.
Beautiful, natural setting. Check in was quick although the staff member checking us in was a bit short with us and not very friendly. Stayed in B loop right across from the entrance to the beach. Only one loop has electric. Level asphalt pad on our site. Check for pad size before booking because there is a large variance in size from site to site. Bath houses were modern and clean. Camp store was fairly well stocked, especially considering it was late in the season. Paved paths for walking and bicycling. No lifeguards on the beaches other than the area at the ranger station. Would definitely return.
Rate reflects Good Sam Discount. Site was mainly level although there was a slight dip when entering that caused some swaying of the motor home. Electrical hookups looked worn. Had an issue with water pressure going very low as we cleaned up for leaving. Noticed others outside checking their water connections at the same time. Pool is small, but nice. Splash ground area was nice for the little ones. Other than the pool, almost all of the amenities cost extra, including Wi-Fi. Lovely location.
This is a wonderful place to be. The campground itself is lovely and well maintained. Showers were spotless, with two curtains, one enclosing a changing room and one enclosing the shower area. There was a nice mat on the floor keeping the water from your clothing while changing. Small number of showers but only one of us had to wait a few minutes to shower. Verizon service was a bit hinky and TV reception is definitely spotty. The sites are mainly sheltered by natural growth. Our site had the picnic table area behind the pad, which provided seclusion and privacy. The beach was well maintained but not enough shallow water for small children and rocky so wear those water shoes. The strip in Geneva-On-The-Lake is just icing on the cake. We will definitely return.
One of the finest campgrounds around. Impeccably manicured and clean. Restrooms and showers are the best we have seen all year at any campground, let alone a state park. Most sites have a natural barrier providing privacy. Most pads are asphalt and level, although there is some sloping front to back on the sites around the lake. Unfortunately, due to the severe drought conditions this summer, the lake was low and the water was a bit on the slimy side due to increased algae growth. We chose not to swim at the small campground beach due to this. Christmas in July celebration was very fun and the kids in the campground all got a visit from Santa. A wonderful experience. We will most definitely return.
Pretty setting on a reservoir. Stayed at the Eagle Point location which across the road from the main campground. Very few flat sites. Although there are sites that accommodate big rigs, the place is not big rig friendly. Pool is very nice. Restrooms are clean but hardly modern. Many seasonals and most are in rather shabby condition. Popular local campground and quite busy and noisy until midnight or so. Geese were abundant and so was their excrement. Playground equipment is in fairly rough condition and there is little else here for youngsters. WiFi is free at the pavilion and there is a pay service that is NOT worth the price. Connectivity was sketchy at best. Only TV reception with Winegard wingman was local PBS. We will probably not return.
Rate reflects 10% Good Sam discount on a holiday rate. Not much more to say than what has already been said previously about this park. Spent 5 nights here over the Memorial Day holiday and couldn't be much more satisfied. Lots of activities, well-manicured park with lots of amenities. Pool opened and it was very clean. We had a beautiful, shaded back in space on the south side of the camp by the hiking trail. Kept us pretty cool over the very hot weekend. Park was packed and we still felt like we had some privacy. Only downer was hinky wi-fi. But, with everything else offered, we can overlook that. We will be back and highly recommend this park.
What an absolutely lovely state park. Located on the shores of Lake Erie with two nice beaches, this campground built around a marsh area is a wonderfully peaceful place to spend time. Camp staff is friendly and courteous. Shower houses, while not necessarily plentiful, are clean. Bike paths are paved. Other amenities have been mentioned in the other reviews. Picked up 69 TV stations with a Winegard w/Wingman. Sites are huge. One thing worth noting...if you are allergic to tree pollen, there are some very large poplar trees that spew lots of cottonwood seeds in May and early June. We love it here and will be back many times. Would be a 10 if things weren't so spread out...although that is probably why the sites are so quiet and peaceful. But the beach is quite a haul from the campground.
Rate reflects Open House Half Price Weekend rate. Beautiful park carved into the side of a hill with beautiful views in many directions. Sites are gravel and slightly unlevel with some mostly unlevel. Our site only required blocks two high on the right side to level. Water pressure was good as was electric quality. Some facilities (pool, Ruth's Cafe restaurant, Grandpa's Farm petting zoo) were not open for the season yet. Very clean restrooms, showers, and laundry. Laundry had two washers and two dryers, with one washer clearly marked as Out of Order. Appliances were recent models and appeared to be in good condition. Cost was pretty standard based on our experience. Park is very pet friendly. Some seasonals as well as transients. Only real downsides were the camp store was not very well stocked yet (probably due to it being early in the season) and the Wi-fi was almost unusable. We could connect with our iPad but the connection was not stable. Because the Wi-Fi requires an online agreement, it cannot be used on anything without a built-in browser like Apple TV or a gaming console. Not sure we could have maintained a connection anyway based on the experience with our laptop and phones. Even with this frustration, we loved the facility and the people. The staff could not have been friendlier and the clientele just as friendly. We will return and recommend it to our friends.
Rate reflects winter season rate. This is a beautiful park built around a large reservoir. We took an over night stop here (45 minute drive from home) preparing for our first trip of the year and it was lovely. We did not use the restrooms on this trip and only a few were open, but my memory says they are clean but could use some renovation. As it was still considered winter season, the camp store was closed and water was not turned on at the spigots. There are plenty of paths to bike and walk, many along the shoreline of the lake. The sites are generous in size with quite a bit of natural brush used for separation and privacy. We will be back many times.
We have been coming to Ocean Lakes for more than 10 years. It is not a place of peace and quiet, although it can be if you come at the right time. It is, however a lovely place that is close to plenty to do with your time. The restrooms appear to have been updated during the off season and were spotless. Water was fine for all uses with a filter. The beach is beautiful and well kept. Sites are very level. The camp store is well kept and the laundry is clean and reasonably priced. There were some machines in need of repair but they were clearly marked as Out of Order. The golf carts are here in abundance and can be annoying, especially with kids under age driving poorly. The fireworks are also a bit much at times. But we love coming here and will continue to do so. The facilities are awesome and so are the memories.
