Even though this park does not have Wi-Fi or cable, it is a very nice, clean, grassy park with large, level, gravel pads close to the Umpqua river. Management is very nice as well. The showers and bathrooms were always clean, as were the laundry facilities. Although the park is mostly permanent residents, they are all well kept and the people very friendly. The only negative is the highway noise from I-5. Otherwise, great park. Price reflects the weekly rate with GS discount.
We found this park through a Google search and took our chances. The best thing about this park is that all RV sites are huge, level, concrete pads, which is great when it's raining and if you have a big rig with a tow. The management was nice, hookups great, and cable was good. But WiFi was only available near the office while we were there. The two downsides were that the bath house, although clean, was at the back corner of the park which is a long walk when it's raining. And, the park is right next to the train tracks (very noisy). We would not return here merely due to the train noise at night. Price reflects GS discount for a week stay.
Positives. Within walking distance to the beach, very quiet, super clean restrooms, level pad sites (some gravel and some grass), nice shade trees, and nice management. Negatives. Will have to pay for showers, sites are very tight and close to one another (not very big rig friendly), some long-termers (although not an issue for us), and WiFi only works in the office. Price reflects our GS discount for a week stay.
Good WiFi, good cable TV, clean restrooms, level pad sites, extremely nice management (loaned us a drill without any questions), nice shade trees, and convenient to Glacier Park entrance and Whitefish Mountain. The only potential downside (although not an issue for us). This park has some long term or permanent residents, most were well kept though, so the only overnight spaces available are closer to the highway. Price reflects our GS discount for a week stay.
Ok, where to begin...I will start by saying that their website is very misleading. Prices were different upon arrival. Parking spots were tight, semi level and not well maintained, and the supposed walking trail around the lake was almost non-existent. At least when we checked in, the girl at the front desk was "nice" enough to give us the website's monthly rate of $450, even though it is now $500. She just said, oh well, it's the owners fault for not changing the website. All she did was take our money and name, no phone number, no site number or check out day was recorded (this info is only recorded if you self register/pay after hours). Apparently, the park (and its website) recently changed ownership at the beginning of the year. Rainbow looks like it used to be a great park, but now the restrooms are not kept clean or stocked (hair, dirt, and paper constantly on the floor), weeds have overrun a lot of the RV sites. The sites are very tight and most people took up two sites. The trail around the lake is overrun with weeds (can't even walk 1/2 way around), and if you need help with anything - good luck finding genuine customer service here. We had a package delivered here and it was opened by management (even though it was also clearly marked with my name and site #). Then on top of that, since we were not at the park (gone for 3 days), they just left it under our RV and didn't even have the courtesy to tape it back up or leave us a note. When we asked about it, the girl at the office just said that the owner did it, you'll have to talk to him. We didn't even bother since we were leaving in a few days. Also, their laundry is the most expensive we've come across so far ($2 to wash and $2 more to dry). Oh, and Wi-Fi was only available within a 20 yard radius from the office (which covered about 3-5 of the sites). Overall, we would not stay here again.
If you are in a small RV or tent, this park is great. At first arrival, it looks a little "rough," but once you drive into the park and pass the mobile home park, it's nice. The showers were clean and spacious. Sites were a little tight, but they were shaded and had a fire pit and picnic table. The lady at check in was very friendly and helpful with nearby attractions. She even allowed us to check out a little later than normal. Great place, as long as you aren't looking for luxury camping.
Small, quiet, clean, nice park. Close to town and the many surrounding attractions. The owner was very friendly and helpful with any questions. Shower facilities were excellent. Sites were large and a picnic table was provided. Overall, we'd stay here again for sure.
