We found this to be a great campground during a very hot spell. We elected to stay an additional night to enjoy the welcome shade. W/S/E were very good. Found no problem with electric with constant AC use. WiFi was strong and we found that the access codes worked until the time we had arrived the previous day. After registering for another day we found the access still working at check out. The public roads to reach the campground do have some tree branch issues, but traffic was light. A side note - cash only at check-in. However, ATM on premises charges $1.50 service charge, which trumps most banks. We will return.
It irritates me that some KOA's charge a "resort fee". Here that fee is $8.00. I would prefer that the rate just be increased to reflect the resort status. This KOA probably does qualify as a resort - it has a lot going on, with lot's of amenities, including free pancakes. Sites are gravel with some areas having grass between sites. Our site, #72 just fit our 34' motorhome. Water, sewer, electric, cable were excellent. Wi-Fi was also very strong. We would return again if in the area. Location is great for visiting the Harper's Ferry area.
This is a pretty little park conveniently off I-64. Our site was right across from the office and had good fulll hookups. We had a little trouble getting level and the site was a bit tight. Cable had limited channels, but reception was strong. Wi-Fi signal was good, but simply dropped off every now and then. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We would return if in the area.
Apparently, since the last review, the interior roads have all been paved, so there is no dust problem. Excellent concrete pads and patio at each site. Very good w/e/s/c + solid, free, WiFi. Staff is wonderful. We were asked if everything was all right and told to call if there were any issues. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. AMH is far superior to the other Williamsburg choices for commercial parks.
This is a great little park. Friendly staff. Our site was level, partially shaded, with excellent W/E/S hookups, good cable service and solid Wi-Fi. Convenient to explore southern Hatteras Island. We would stay again.
Previous reviews are pretty accurate. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very large park, W/E excellent. Sewer hookup was horrible. We have a class A that rides fairly high and it was still impossible to dump. Not only was the sewer located about 8 inches above the gravel pad, the pipe then extended another 8-10 inches above the ground. Simply stated, sewage would have to flow up hill 8-12 inches. Didn't happen. We probably will stay elsewhere on our next visit to the area.
As I have said before. This park is what it says it is - "The Quiet One." No activities, no pool, and only a swing set for playground amenities. But, it has a spectacular view, and very good W/E/S hookups. Sites are quite level and remain dry, even in the torrential rain storm that occurred during our stay. I would give a 10 if the WiFi were not so quirky. The service is intermittent and slow most of the time and it is turned off completely at night. We will return.
If you have a Rand GPS, put in the physical address, do not rely on the stored info in the Rand. Very nice staff and a beautiful setting. There was no cable in the area we were in. WiFi requires a fee and registration. Hookups were very good. Our area had double/buddy style sites and they might be tight if the place was full. We would stay here again, if in the area.
Nice campground and this was our third visit. Only complaint was a charge per pet. And, the WIFI was a bit spotty this time. It should be noted that this park has a lot of family friendly facilities and activities in season.
Location is fantastic. Easy access to ocean and river beach. Sites are well laid out and hookups are more than adequate. Pedestals are to the rear of the sites and are quite far back. We needed to use two 25' hoses. This an excellent location to explore Salisbury and Newburyport, MA as well as Hampton Beach, NH.
