I joined KOA since I selected to stay at this site. Initially I was pleased driving up to the site. I came after hours and the staff had my camping packet complete and attached to the office door. When I got into the park I noticed the access roads were in need of repair (pot holes) and the lawn strips were badly overgrown. The restrooms and laundry room were not security controlled and I experienced them being used by persons that were not guests of the park. This is an older park and the restroom / showers reflect that. My contact with the staff was very pleasant. They were quite helpful and friendly. There are some pleasant features of the park that include the pet areas, bird sanctuary, bike/walk trails and neighboring parks. The close proximity to a major roadway used by big trucks detracts from the peacefulness of the park. I stayed during the off-season and while the pool and other amenities were closed, I still had to pay a handsome price to stay there. I also discovered that not all "Full Service" sites had full service available. I have stayed at many nicer parks for a whole lot less money. Overall, I was really disappointed with this KOA campground. I expressed my displeasure in my evaluation to them and KOA Headquarters.
This is a beautiful park. It is nestled right on the Rogue River. It is beautifully landscaped and provides sitting areas along the walking path facing the river. The sites are spacious and allow ample room for slides. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A definite "Must Stay" park. Shady Cove is a cute and quaint town that is 1 hour away from Crater Lake.
This is a wonderful park. It is very well maintained - clean and safe. It is situated in a very beautiful area. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I absolutely love the serenity and atmosphere of the park. I stayed 1 night, while passing through Oregon. but I will certainly revisit this park in the very near future.
