My stay was a 10 in my book! Making reservations over the phone reflected friendly staff, which was again experienced upon my arrival. First impression was that this was a very well-taken care of park, reflecting a lot of hard work and pride in upkeeping. Had a nice site overlooking small lake. I just needed a spot for the night but could have stayed longer. Quiet and peaceful. Sites were level and had a lot of room. I saw many seasonal campers, and talked with several people who were all very friendly and spoke highly of the park. The proximety to Duluth is a big plus. 10 minutes and you are in town. I will tell others and definitely return.
Had no complaints so 10 is based on my experience; it was a great stay. Stayed over Memorial Day weekend (three nights) in a 24 foot rig. Got a great site with shade tree along the lake. (Only a few with shade along the lake, so I'd recommend requesting if they can accommodate.) Had a picnic table and fire pit. Convenient location; only 10 minutes quick and easy from Downtown Bemidji. Owners were on site, very friendly and helpful. Pet friendly. Campground is a mix of seasonal trailers with plenty of open sites that accommodated motorhomes, fifth wheelers and tent camping. All seasonal people we met were friendly. Credit Cards not accepted, so bring check or cash. Store had essentials. Would stay here again.
I needed an overnight stay and took a shot at this campground. Glad I did and have no regrets. Good directions and easy to find off Interstate. Quiet location. I had a good experience making reservations by phone with them, and this was reinforced when I arrived. I was met by a friendly staff, who helped me get to my site and get settled in. Sites were roomy, shaded, level. Lots of different kinds of rigs, from 5th wheelers to big giant ones. I saw that sites handled towed vehicles very adequately. I didn't use shower but peeked in to see what they looked like; restrooms and showers were immaculate. Store was small but had needed essentials if they were needed. I like how the on-site staff person told me what site he was on in case there was an emergency. Wi-Fi was excellent. Overall, great location if you are looking for an overnight stay traveling to or from Badlands and Black Hills. Would also stay longer if visiting local area. Well done and thanks.
Very satisfied with my stay. Stayed 2 nights while visiting Crazy Horse mountain and Mt Rushmore. The site always makes the stay and mine was perfect for me; right across from the store and facilities (site 40). Staff very friendly and helpful, which started when I first made phone reservations. Owners were hands on and seen throughout the park daily; nice to visit with and helpful, as were all staff. Very relaxing stay, shaded level gravel site with fire ring and picnic table. Wi-Fi worked just fine. Used laundry room, which was very clean. While I did not use showers or restrooms, I checked them out and they were immaculate. Propane was available, which I needed to top off tank. Lots of friendly people to visit with. Family friendly with a pool and water slide. The store was well stocked with RV essentials, basic T-shirts and gifts, as well as collection of DVDs. Very quiet at night. I picked this campground based on previous reviews and glad I did. I was not disappointed and overall, very satisfied. I would recommend and stay here again.
Very satisfied with my stay. Arrived Wed, Aug 10 same day as Sturgis' Devils Tower Run. Thousands of bikes and lots of activity. The staff performed admirably and were extremely friendly and helpful, despite it probably was their busiest day of the year. I also learned the owner had recently passed away, so again, in spite of the challenges of Sturgis and a loss to their family, their customer service was first rate. I saw this from everyone on their staff, from registration, to gift shop, to restaurant, and out helping campers. Facilities were great. High quality gift store with all you will want. Convenience store items well stocked. Restaurant opened at 7 am for full breakfast and continued through the day past dinner. They showed "Close Encounters" movie each night at 9 pm on the outdoor deck, in full view of the mountain. What a treat. RV sites were level and very roomy; you are not cramped in at all. Lots of shade sites. Even with all the activity outside the campground, inside was very quiet. Lots of families in rental RVs, and from other countries. Lots of friendly people to talk to. Entrance to Devils Tower is co-located with KOA. If you are visiting the Tower, this would be the place to stay. Come late afternoon, stay overnight and hit the Tower when it opens. P.S. Great ice cream, too. Well done to staff; thanks.
Great place to stay, if you are visiting Rochester and especially Mayo Clinic. Owners on site, friendly, welcoming and take great pride in the park. Grounds were immaculate. Gravel parking with asphalt pad and picnic table for each. Pet area was well taken care of. Easy access to Rochester. Shuttle to Mayo Clinic picks you up at RV site and runs every hour. No riff raff here, lot's of upscale motor coaches. People were friendly. Saw mostly couples, no children seen. Stayed 2 nights in Class C. Will come back and recommend.
This place gets a 10 for location and convenience (in addition to friendly staff). Only a few full hook up sites, although other sites are available. Basically a concrete parking lot for the marina. Still, a great overnight stop. Also great if you are visiting downtown Duluth. A five minute walk and you are at the Aerial Lift Bridge in the heart of Canal Park. Will stay here again.
Always pros and cons depending on your needs. Park is huge. RV sites are close to each other offering little privacy. Major park roads paved with gravel/grass sites. Lake and bridge view excellent (get a lake view site if you can). Kid's paradise. Many bikers (two-wheel kind). Three miles from downtown, so you need transportation. Drawback: there is no place to deposit trash; you had to carry your own trash to the main entrance, where the only available dumpsters were (long trip). Really inconvenient. Camp store had good selection of food and camping items including beer, wine and hard liquor (which was a surprise considering the family environment). Another drawback was no laundry facilities; had to do laundry in town. Overall, good stay (4 days) in a great, scenic area.
Needed an overnight stop in this area, and this worked out perfect. A little out of the way, but this was not a factor. Hosts extremely nice and accommodating. We arrived late just for the night so did not use facilities. The store seemed adequate, and there seemed like many activities for kids. Our site was close to the front of the campground, and was OK.
Second visit. Stayed 5 days. Outstanding in every respect. First class restrooms and laundry. Grounds are well kept, as was the pool. LP is available. Has shaded sites. Has an excellent store. Hosts are welcoming. Many military retirees, as the Army post is near. Many families visiting soldiers, etc. Clarksville has excellent attractions and everything you would want is 5 minutes away. Easy off from interstate. Highly recommend.
Stopped late for overnight stay. Just off interstate, but noise at night was not a factor. Narrow gravel road, then down a slope to office. However, once at site, it was level. Campground hosts were very friendly. Restroom was not in that great physical condition, but they were as clean as could be expected for late at night, and they worked OK. Would stop here again.
Lots of families and kids. Beach access was great. If you are looking for quiet, stay on the sound side. We had premium sound side site, which I recommend. Great view of sunset from site. View of beach blocked by dunes on premium beach side sites. No shade anywhere. Facilities excellent; newer on sound side (sound side showers had A/C and very clean). Campground workers very friendly and helpful. Ice on site, and they have a store with essentials. Came from North Dakota and was worth the trip, as Cape Hatteras was beautiful. This is a busy place, but everyone we met was friendly.
Good place to stop for the night. Hard to find, but they directed me over the phone. Owner very helpful and friendly. Site was OK. Rustic atmosphere. Worked for us. Did not use facilities as we were in late and out early. Would stay again.
If you are looking for a place for the night going through Bloomington, check this out. It take about 15 minutes, but is worth it. It's nestled in the countryside in a rural setting. Beautiful. A clean park, with lots of shade, and the owners are very friendly. We just stayed for the night, but would stay again and longer. A very, very nice place.
Outstanding. We stayed 4 nights while visiting our son at Fort Campbell, KY. The park was extremely well kept, including the pool, laundry, showers and rest room. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The owner, managers, and workers were all friendly. There is easy access from Interstate. There is lots of shopping close buy. Half the sites had good shade. The campground had nice store stocked with essentials. There is propane on site. We had a Class C Winnebago View but there were a mix of 5th wheels and big rigs. We highly recommend this park.
Outstanding. We selected a premium site along the creek which I recommend. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Park was spotless and sites were excellent. Private restrooms with showers were very clean. Ice on site as were laundry facilities. Beautiful setting in the mountains and Waynesville is a must to visit. Stayed 2 nights in Winnebago View. Other campers very friendly. Highly recommend. Thanks to the wonderful staff.
