We are here for work, and found out the hard way that camping in winter is a lot of work. During winter, the campground does not offer their water hookup. But they will let you use the water hose from their laundry room to fill your fresh water tank if you like. We did it, and within one day, the fresh water tank was frozen. So most of the RVers camping here during the winter carry their 5-gallon or one-gallon water jugs and fill them up at their laundry room sink or bathrooms. The staff is helpful and friendly. The WiFi connection is fast. You are right next to the Mystic Lake Casino so the WiFi is provided from there. I love the gas station and RV/Car wash being right in the campground, it is very convenient. The only thing missing is the propane service, which you can get from a gas station a few miles from here, or if you are staying for a long period of time, rent larger tank from local vendors. All and all, it is a pleasant experience for us, besides the bitter cold.
We stayed for one month, so the nightly rate is much lower. This is a nice park overall. Clean bathroom, fairly leveled sites and enough room to get in and out with big rig. Our main complaints are the customer service and wi-fi connection. The couple who checked us in was really nice, but when we needed help another day it was a different couple and they weren't really that helpful. It made us feel unwelcome for lack of better description, which I think it is extremely important to have a pleasant staff to service people on vacation, not to mention full timers like us. Wi-fi is truly a hit and miss, we full time and work from our rig, it is essential for us to have reliable wi-fi. They told us we could get it anywhere in the park, not true. They were able to move us to a different location where we could get signal at least. But, their system was not designed to handle high volume use. So have your wi-fi card ready if you need it or you will have to go downtown Moab and sit at one of the wi-fi hotspots. We probably will spend more money next time staying at Portal RV instead. I think the facility in Portal RV is a bit nicer and friendlier staff. PS: We are also big on recycling, with the whole Moab having recycling program available, Spanish Trail did not even have recycling bins is another negative point we decided to give them.
Our nightly rate is $10 due to our long term stay. We are staying here for about 3 months. The campground owners are very friendly. We ordered an ice maker to be delivered at the camp address and they even brought it to our RV to drop off. The public bathroom/shower facility is nice and clean. Lots of camp sites to choose from. Though the pull-through sites are only reserved for overnight-short term guests. Really nice! Will definitely come back again!
Overall a clean campground. I found this campground through this website. It is easy to pull our rig through the park and get in and out easily. A little pricey for the location and what they offer though.
We stayed here overnight to rest, and was setting up our mail forwarding service with Escapees RV Club. The amp host was really friendly and helpful. Wifi is available with a fee. They use TengoZone WiFi service. We did not use it since we have our Verizon Wireless Broad Band card with us. We are newbies so pull-though sites are what we prefer pulling the 35-footer. There are only two public bathroom/shower available. Both are fairly clean.
We were here for two weeks for a client projects. The camp host, Don, was super friendly and got us a huge discount with the owner of the campground. He said that since it is winter and no one is there, we should get a good price. There is Wifi. You will need to get access info from the camp host. We love how clean the restroom and showers are. It appears that they clean them everyday even when there is only a couple of campers around. We will be back again for sure when it is warmer.
