This is an older park but it was secure, the park no longer honors Good Sam nor do they take credit cards. But, the attendant was nice, showed us to our site, even offered to show us around town. Although close to the highway the noise wasn't too bad. The sites are level, 50 AMP service and for the price it's hard to beat. We would stay here again. These are nice people.
It's an OK place, spots are CLOSE together, but the place is reasonable, mostly permanent campers here but we found everyone to be friendly. For an overnight say, it's acceptable. I had to laugh to myself when I read the sign that has word 'resort' in the name. Hardly. Close to I-40 but not too noisy. I would avoid the east end of town. My son is in the area here and he says that the west side of town is better.
This park is located in a sports complex, there are walking paths, several restaurants to choose from nearby. Sites are a bit snug...we were here alone but had there been other campers it would have been close quarters. Two of the five sites were out of order, no shade but hard to beat for an overnight stay. Water and 30 amp electric only. Show up with empty tanks! We would stay here again.
For the price, this is an excellent place to stay. There are low limbs approaching the campground, and there is no sewer but these are the only negative points. The park ranger was very nice. The sites are paved and have 50 AMP electricity. We'll stay here again when we pass though; we stayed here two days because I work from the RV and needed to sit still for a bit, and we found it very quiet.
Nice, older park. We arrived late and the information about where to go was on the door. VERY friendly and helpful. The manager was very quick to help when there was a problem. That problem was we spent the first night on row P: too close to FL 40 and all the traffic. Once we moved, it was nice under the huge live oak tree. We would highly recommend this place: but stay away from Highway 40!
This park was OK, the people were nice, this is an older park and we stayed during the off season. There were places to eat and attractions nearby; don't go out of your way to stay here but you can do much worse. It could use some updating. We probably will stay here again if we are in Dauphin Island.
Friendly staff; pretty quiet except for the crickets that chirped all night! We enjoyed walking the trails, up to the beach and seeing the park. The fresh water lake right next to the Gulf of Mexico is interesting.
We reserved our spot in Reserve America and had no interaction with anyone at the park. The staff did pass by occasionally but never did anything other than wave at us. The park was full, the trails for hiking were nicely maintained and everyone was friendly. We enjoyed the visit and plan to return.
