You should make sure you have extra cribbing, a long electric cord & long water hose. Nice shade in most spots. Some spots look too short for anything other than a pop up or tent. Lodge food was spectacular. History of the place was interesting. Will try to come back when pool is open.

This place is only 15 minutes away from our house but is so nice we plan on making it a yearly thing. The programs offered for the kids by the naturalist are entertaining and informative. Pool is adequate size with handicap lift. Many shaded spots for hot KY summer days. Enough space for friends to camp next to each other and have privacy. Nice common area between spots where games of toss, tag and corn hole were played. Two very large common area fire rings with stone walled seats if you want to have a large get together. Highly recommend!

This little known secret is in the Red River Gorge area of Kentucky near Slade. They do not take reservations, so 1st come 1st served here. Great place to have the comfort of your camper bed, but be away from it all. Recommend the double sites for anything large than 20' camper. Hosts extremely helpful. No store, but host has ice and firewood for sale.

This place calls road side sites, pull through sites for big rigs. Beware, there is no place to turn around here! If you have anything bigger than a pop up or small, less than 20 foot trailer, you'll need to be an expert at backing in because of posts buried into the ground marking the sites. Would not recommend kids on bikes as there is only one straight road, and all sites are located on the right side of it. Did seem quiet though. Will not stay here again.

Spots were nice but gravel. Streamside is very nice in main section of campground, some sites require a lengthy back in approach. We had a 27' travel trailer and there were plenty of sites able to accommodate it. Bathrooms/shower house had ample hot water. Some cleaning required due to spiders having a field day with the odd hot October. Dump station needs major work. Need to pull up to it in the oncoming traffic lane entering campground to use it, the drain to dump was partially broken and massive sewage leaks occur frequently. Must use gloves. Will be back despite all as the area is gorgeous. Also Natural Bridge is must see via skylift. Must visit Red River Gorge.

A great park to stay in. Loop B has nicer sites space wise; loop C has some sewer hook ups; loop A is tight but has the pull through sites in it. Take the east entrance to park to avoid having to circle the entire lake with steep hills & heavy curves. Lake itself has about 50 pull off areas to make your way down to the lake to either fish or swim. Marina has a few pontoon boats for rent reasonably priced. The community pool has been closed for a long time; what a shame because with some investment could be really nice. They have a bunch of activities for the kids; they take their line dancing & corn hole VERY seriously here. Park seems to settle down pretty quickly after 10. Will be back mid summer.

Nice park for spring or early fall camping. Summer heat is too much for no waterplay. Pool is at the lodge & available for free from 4:30-6pm (which is usually when storms pop up). The beach that is advertised has been closed for a while, & there is no swimming in the lake. Paddle boats/canoes are available for rent but are $20 per person per hr rental. Too much in my opinion. Campsites are spacious & fairly level. There are some full hook up sites, but those seem to be closer together. For shorter stays, I'll take the space over convenience of sewer.

What another great state park Kentucky has! Nice big lake! The sites are fairly level, shade is limited in some loops so check website for pictures for what works for you. Staff extremely friendly, nice golf course, plenty of activities for kids, if you take the cave tour you MUST use knee pads. It will hurt! Only complaint is the fire rings are right next to the picnic table pad & it's hard to get a group around the fire at night. We will be back!

Small park with huge sites! Plenty of programs for kids/family. Could be rough for some larger vehicles, turns were tight & it was a very steep grade getting up into the campground. Some lots were level, others were wickedly sloped (either side-side or front-back). Will definitely return!

This campground is very large & could be so much better! The sites are very nice although shade is hard to find in some loops. The bath houses are outdated & were not cleaned while we were there. Only one shower stall in women's worked (by site 145) & it was scalding water only. There are @ 3 water fill up points per loop which makes it easy to fill your tanks. The grounds were well kept, playgrounds left much to be desired. Movies were played at dusk in the amphitheater & were somewhat family oriented (Old Dogs- new release). The beach looked awful, it could've been due to recent rains but doubtful due to other maintenance issues. Sad thing is that there was a lot of things to do in the area & the campground could make a killing if they'd add water to sites & charge more. This would help pay for the updates needed. Will probably not come back.

This is a relatively new RV park. The grounds were very clean. Had planned activities for the kids and a very nice, salt water pool (pack the eye drops though). Has a nice bike route, sand volleyball, decent playground, a good sized clubhouse. All the sites are extremely level with huge concrete patios. It's very quiet even though located on the main road. Only negative is the limited items in the camp store, (but a local grocery is within 5 miles). Although this is a family friendly park, for families with more than 2 kids (12 & over), there's a small fee per night charged extra.

We literally picked the worst site there was as far as grade. Having never been here before, we picked one for location. The next day we walked the whole campground and found there was only 7-8 sites that you'll need extra cribbing for. This campground was great! Pool is in loops A-B, playground in loopes C-D. It's quiet after 9pm. Restrooms/showers are cleaned daily @10am. The staff was wonderful. Store had a bit of everything, including moderately priced souveniers. Will definitely be back!!
