This place is a little hard to find but the view of the River once you get there is worth it. You can sit on park benches and watch barges moving up and down the Mississippi all day. The newer section of the park has concrete pads and WiFi. The older sites are shady and border woods with trails. The laundry was free for guests when we last stayed here. You will have to drop your toad to go shopping but there are two grocery stores and a Wal-Mart nearby. Also, they are very dog friendly.
We stay here when we have to. There is so much road construction around this park it is a hassle to get to. It is a field with 30 amp power, no pads and when it rains it is a mess. There are nice hiking/biking trails around the Wolf River and a small pond. There is a corn maze across from the RV Park each October which is fun. If you plan to stay more than a night or two look at Tom Sawyer Park in West Memphis. It is much nicer.
We received a coupon for breakfast at the casino worth $14, so we figure the site really cost just $13 so that is a bargain. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. The staff was friendly and the view of the Mississippi River from the casino was very cool. The park is just .3 miles off the interstate which is also convenient.
The sites are level and dry. The area is well kept and there is a playground for children behind the registration office. A shuttle will take you to the casino for dinner, which is a nice break for the cook! There are five restaurants to choose from in all price ranges.
We were surprised with this little park on the way to South Padre Island. It is clean, friendly and affordable. There are several nearby restaurants. We will definitely stay here in the future, maybe for a month or two.
