Registered for a week. Was given a site near an apparent long-term RVer who worked for Terminex Pest Control. The pest control truck was parked approximately10 feet from our bedroom slide. At 6:00 A.M. each morning, the pest control truck would start and idle there for 10-15 minutes before leaving. By this time, further sleep would be impossible. I went to the park manager and asked if perhaps the pest truck could be parked at one of the overflow parking sites (which are very near our RV also), or possibly just turn the truck around so the exhaust wasn't aimed at our bedroom window. The manager said that she would contact the driver and have the problem corrected immediately. Expecting a restful night's sleep, we were instead awakened at 3:30 A.M. by the Terminex truck's engine again roaring under our bed! So much for ANY rest! I again went to the manager and advised her of the new development. She told me that the easiest thing to do was for ME to move! Because of her lack of concern for me as a customer, and her unwillingness to enforce the park's 'quiet time' regulation, I decided instead to leave the park. Although this was our 3rd visit to the park in two years (each time staying 1 to 2 weeks), THIS WILL BE OUR LAST.
We were NOT impressed with the campground at all. The restrooms were constantly plugged up and overflowing onto the floors. The showers were dirty and full of dead bugs. The restrooms were not stocked with paper and the floors were cluttered. The electrical service at the sites was barely adequate. When additional R.V.'s plugged in, the power level dropped substantially. Appliances didn't work well. Owners/managers were only present on the weekends, so guest and maintenance problems were only handled then (IF AT ALL). Also, apparently there is no pet rules because pets ran free and crapped at everyone's site. No 'quiet time' either, cause there were LOUD parties nearly every night lasting 'til 2-3 A.M. The disturbances and problems were so numerous that we cut our stay short and moved on.
Stayed there during the "off season" which was very reasonable. Unfortunately, the constant wind and rain made it difficult to enjoy the area. The restrooms and showers in the main building were usually clean and well stocked. However, the restrooms and showers next to the pool were poorly maintained and in need of repair. Although quite close to an international airport, the park was usually quiet. Would stay there again during the "regular season" provided the weather is better.
Val Vista Village is one of three smaller parks combined into one (about 1500 sites total) with two thirds being park models. The facilities such as restrooms, showers, laundry, and rec rooms get very crowded during the peak months because of the large size. The park schedules many concerts and singers during the winter months, however tickets are gone in first few days. The little deli next to the center courtyard is reasonable and offers delicious meals. The miniature golf course is fun, as well as the batting cages and tennis courts. A car wash is available for cleaning your tows & toads. You can wash your own RV or hire it done (the water leaves spots tho). Plenty to do in the area as far as hiking, biking, flea markets, etc. Each site has it's own fruit tree and the hummingbirds are plentiful. The residents are friendly, the staff is helpful.
The park calls itself a 'luxury' resort. Because it is 20 years old, some of the amenities are showing signs of their age. The water was off on 3 separate days due to breaks in the lines, and one of the two hot-tub's was being jackhammered into piece's during our month-long stay. The sites are mostly level, however they are elevated approx. a foot above the street level. This makes it harder to hook-up or un-hook a tow behind or 5th wheel. We were assigned a site along the outside perimeter wall and had to listen to VERY loud motorcycles and racing vehicles at all hours of the night from a busy street. Each site has a fruit producing orange or grapefruit tree during winter months. Most of the 1100 sites are filled by park models with R.V.'s mixed among them. The staff & residents are very friendly and courteous. The park offers a wide range of activities, crafts, and entertainment. We would stay there again.
We toured Sunrise twice before requesting a site there for our 5th wheel. We planned on staying there while we searched for a park model to buy at the park. We were given a list of the available sites by the office staff; we looked at the sites and chose the one we liked from the list. We were told that we had to write a personal check for $150 to secure the site. Because we didn't plan to move into the park for a week, we made a 3rd trip to the park to pay the requested deposit. Three day's BEFORE our arrival date, the Sunrise office staff called our cell phone and said that they had given our site to another party. They requested that we choose another site! We were disappointed (and angry) at their lack of consideration, so we decided to find a different park. When we asked for our deposit back, the park manager refused. Saying the only condition that they refund money was for severe illnesses! After I warned the manager that I intended to sue them for the refund and expenses, she relented and agreed to send a check for the $150 deposit. We did not stay at the Sunrise R.V. Resort and WILL NOT stay there anytime in the future!
One of the nicer parks that we found in Yuma. Nearly new facilities, sites are level. The water contains a lot of harsh minerals (caliche); drinking water should be purchased from a local purification dispenser (one located at the park) or from the grocery store. Washing the R.V. is permitted, though it's difficult because of heavy streaking. Large fans in the nearby lemon and orange groves make a lot of noise(when the temperature drop's below 40 degree's. Stayed for two month's, enjoyed the park very much. Would stay again.
Stayed here for a week. VERY noisy during the weekends. Loud stereo's and drunken parties; golf cart & ATV's racing on gravel roads until early hours. Restrooms & showers in poor repair and dirty; unstocked. Cable T.V. doesn't work. Recreation room un-usable (being used as a storage room). Swimming pool not accessible except to hotel guests. Park caters to park models more than R.V.'s and is in a generally run-down condition. Would NOT stay at the park again.
Nice park! Easy access and wide streets. Ample parking at the site. Sewer, water, and electrical services are new and easy to access. The bathroom's are clean and the showers are roomy and well stocked. Could use another restroom facility as it's a long walk from most area's of the park. The staff were very accommodating in allowing the use of the rec. room for a family get-together. The WI-FI was fast and powerful; the cost was competitive. Was charged $5 to wash the R.V. Would definitely stay here again.
We researched the park and called ahead to verify the amenities before arriving. We were given a wonderful review by the desk staff. We paid for a month in advance, but upon arriving found that the park WAS NOT AS DESCRIBED. We found that the sites were infested with fire-ants; animal droppings were everywhere. The restrooms were run-down, dirty, and the toilets were often flooded. The WI-FI was intermittent and cell-phone service was non-existent. We attempted to get a refund but it was denied based on the "No Refund" policy. The grounds-keeper began harassing me and ultimately threatened to assault me because I refused to allow him to wash our R.V. at a cost of $80! I called the police dept and filed a report and we left the next day! UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WOULD WE STAY THERE AGAIN!
We were VERY DISAPPOINTED in the park. We called ahead to ask questions regarding the accommodations and was given a GLOWING description of the amenities. After checking in, we found that the condition's WERE NOT AS DESCRIBED by the desk clerk. The sites were very cramped, the power was insufficient and at times almost non-existent. The bathroom's and shower's were run-down, dirty, and flooded. The dirt roads left a thick layer of dust on everything each time a vehicle went by. The desk clerk told us where their dump station was located, but we found that it sealed shut; an employee informed us that it hasn't been used in years! Someone even stole our firewood during the night! We stayed in our 5th wheel and WOULD NOT STAY THERE AGAIN!
There are 5 sites with sewer hook-up. These were full, so we took a site without sewer. The power amounted to a common household electrical outlet which was barely sufficient to run our basic light's. The site's were very cramped because they were primarily used for tent's. There were 3 shower's total which was NOT sufficient to accommodate the number of camper's. The floor's were messy and flooded with water and sand. The sites were not very level which made hooking up difficult. There was a dump station at the park which was nice. The park is more of a campground leaning toward tenter's than R.V.'s. The fact that it sits on the shore of a lake is very peaceful and relaxing. We stayed in a 5th wheel and would probably NOT camp there again.
We stayed at this park for several month's about 2 years ago. We were impressed with it and made it a point to return. This time, however, we were assigned a different site which was next to a customer who still worked during the day. He owned a very loud diesel truck and would start the engine at 5:30 A.M. and let it run for 15-20 minutes before leaving. The truck was parked 6 feet from our bedroom slide. After several days of this, the start time's changed to an earlier hour, and on one particular morning the truck left and returned again THREE time's between 4:30 A.M. and 7:00 A.M. With this and the fact that a nearby bar plays LOUD music until 2:00 A.M. each Fri. and Sat. night, we went to the manager to request a site change. Expecting a helpful response, we were quite surprised that she was NOT interested in assigning us a different site, nor was she accommodating AT ALL! Based on her lack of interest, we located a different R.V. park in Salem and chose to leave. WE WILL NOT STAY AT THIS PARK AGAIN.
We planned on staying at this park for a month. We paid in advance. After two week's a family emergency arose requiring us to speed to Salt Lake City. We asked the woman manager if we could get a refund and she refused. We persisted by asking how we could contact the OWNER; the mgr. stalled but finally gave us a phone number. We called the owner and she agreed to send us a check for a PORTION of the money. We received a check in about two week's. Would NOT stay there again based on the management's attitude.
Was working out of the R.V. on the internet at the time. Owner ran a DSL line out of his home to our R.V. in order to provide us with service. Bathrooms & shower's were clean, however water was hauled in by truck for the shower's and was in short supply. Rec. room consisted of a pool table and pinball machine in a converted barn. Railroad tracks were VERY close and a freight train came by several times a day. The freeway is also quite close; couldn't often leave the R.V. door open because of the noise. Was often very windy there and a hailstorm one evening broke out ALL of our roof vent's. Park is geared more for the motorcycle rallies in August and closes shortly after that. Would stay there again, but not for a month like before.
Wireless internet WAS NOT adequate as promised by park owner. EVERYTHING has a fee, including washing your own R.V. Race car's are being built and tested at a neighboring property, so roaring engine's, squealing tire's and dust cloud's are an everyday occurence. There is an abundance of game, especially deer in the area. Lot's of bird-watching and fishing at the nearby pond. Park cater's mainly to weekend locals as a getaway, and is not really set-up for bigger rig's.
NICE park! Pretty setting with nice landscaping. Pool and hot-tub very refreshing. Very nice theater with popular movies. Adequate laundry facilities and rec. room. Very quiet at night, but lot's of mowing during the day. Staff is pleasant and helpful and friendly. A little tough to back a large rig into the site. The sites are concrete and are fairly close to each other. Street's ARE a little narrow and are all one-way. Restroom's and shower's are usually quite clean and well stocked. Would stay here whenever we're in the area.
Park is situated next to busy highway and a busy railroad track with trains every two hours. The facilities are run-down/partially remodeled former restaurant building made into office, restroom's and shower's. The restroom's are rarely cleaned and toilet's are generally overflowing. Shower's dirty and stained with rust and mildew. Rec. room poorly outfitted and rarely open. Many old, cluttered and run-down R.V.'s homesteading the site's. Stayed there for a month due to job requirement, but was glad to leave and would NOT return.
Campground was found to be in a poorly maintained condition. The restroom's were VERY run-down, dirty and not stocked. The shower's were sorely in need of repair, the men's shower didn't even have hot water. Several dilapidated trailer's homesteaded the pull-through section. The trailer's were occupied by a host of unsavory individual's who spent their time working on their RV's until 3 o'clock A.M. each night. After the third night, I complained to the manager. The night's were quiet after that. We paid for a week but left about two day's early. Wonderful location near whale watching and giant redwood's. Would return to the area for more hiking and bike-riding, but would NOT stay at Kamp Klamath again.
