If you stay here, do NOT stay in sites B-30, 31, 32, 33, 34...these are right next to each other and absolutely NO privacy. It's like your in a cul-de-sac, and you are right next to each other. The other sites have their own private areas though. This offered a nice lake to fish at, and they had a very small "beach" area and place to swim. I rated this lower because we were in site B-32 and at 12:45 in the morning I had to go to the people next to us who had 3 tents spread all over the place and ask them to please move from right behind our RV. There was no monitoring of how many tents/people were in our cul-de-sac. The people next to us ended up with 15 people in one site. Also, there is only 1 bath house that we could find and we had to drive to it--it was a LONG way away. Not sure what the campers used next to us for a bathroom! We would definitely NOT go back here.
This was a great place to stay--although a little pricey. They had a pool, a large playground and even delivers pizza, that are made in the country store, to your site. We stayed on a paved site (I believe this was deluxe and maybe why so pricey.). Other sites were flat gravel...however these were somewhat close together. When we were there, they had a band, but said they normally have movies. Three lakes to fish in and a nature trail to follow.
We really enjoyed this little campground. About 15 minutes from Athens, GA (GO BULLDOGS!)--and easy to get to UGA. VERY shaded areas, nature trails, with little scenes set up throughout the nature trails. There are 2 ponds if you want to go fishing. The attendant was very nice. The reason we gave this a 7--very tight roads to get into the campground, only 2 showers/restrooms, for the entire campground, no grills or firepits. We tried WiFi, but were not successful. Some of the sites have cable hook-up--ours didn't, and not sure how you get that. However, despite that, we will definitely go back when traveling to UGA.
This was a great place! Very wooded and shady--felt like we actually got away. If you traveled with another rig, you can actually back in so backs are together and have one large area to hang out at. Swimming pool is nice--$1 a person when camping. Putt Putt available for $3 a person, but you can keep items all day. We did not get a chance to go on the lake, but it's about 15-20 min. from Westville (1800s town), Warm Springs and FDR's Little White House. We will DEFINITELY go back!
We had a great time at this park. Very clean and very neat. I would encourage you to spend the extra $10 for the ocean view--it's a beautiful place to sit and look over the ocean. Plus that makes it feel like you have more room because you can sit behind your camper/RV on the grass. If you chose not to have waterfront, then it's $45 a night. There are concrete patios and picnic tables. The pool was clean as well. The only reason I rated this an 8 was because we were charged $4 per kid per day. We weren't even there 48 hours, yet had to pay $16. A little pricey when you spend your whole time on the beach. Wal-Mart is 1.3 miles away. Staff was friendly, beach was clean. They have tiki umbrellas and lounge chairs for relaxing on on the beach. The water never gets above waist level for quite a ways out. Really a nice place.
This campground is not what I would describe as a resort park. There was nothing for the kids to do (the pool was closed as it was too cold). It was a good place to park to visit places in Atlanta. We gave this a seven because the sites were so small. The gentleman across from us had to back in his fifth wheel, and at some points came to close for comfort to our RV. Not to mention side by side sites. Step out of your camper and take 4 large steps and you were touching the side of the other camper. The showers were clean, but there were only 2 showers for the whole campground. When we go back to Atlanta, we will definitely look for a different place to stay. This was clean, but too plain for our tastes especially at $40 a night.
My husband stayed at this campground for the Talladega race. When I called to make reservations, she asked where I heard about them, and I mentioned this website. She was surprised I had booked here based upon reviews of the site. However, my husband didn't care: it was for a race! My husband said that it was a nice place. The owners were very nice. His only complaints were: there were no grills at the site, and yes, it was a pond where the camping was at. He also said they were sand lots, so if it rains, watch out. It was perfect for him to have a place to stay in his own home and spend the weekend at the race. He will definitely stay here for the next Talladega race!
This was a very enjoyable place to stay! It had a park/swimming pool, however in December it was too cold to do anything. The managers were very nice--left us a note with our choice of sites, because we checked in late. The restrooms/showers were very clean. The only reason this wasn't a ten for us, is the lots were gravel and they didn't offer cable. We had a bit of trouble leveling our RV. We will definitely go back here in the summer and spend time. WARNING! This park is adjacent to a HUGE RV dealer/store, and we ended up trading in our old one and leaving in a brand new Class C! Be careful when shopping! LOL!
This is in a very small town, and we just chose this based upon family living in this town. SUPER NICE PEOPLE that run this! When we got there, the water lines on the paved parts were not working (frozen, I believe), so we were in muddy gravel. That was a bummer, but they were fixing it. Where we were had no cable, but they let us buy a 100 foot long cable and stretch it across the camp since we weren't able to get on a paved slot with cable. RIGHT ON THE RIVER--a beautiful view. We wished it wasn't so cold, so we could have enjoyed being outside more. We would have rated this higher, but no shower/restrooms or things for the kiddos to do.
This is a wonderful place to stay for military. We loved it. The sites were all paved and very roomy. Each site had it's own picnic table on the pavement. There were several playgrounds around the area and just about 30 feet away is the Gulf of Mexico. There are stairs that lead right down to it. The bathrooms were very clean and very well maintained. We would definitely go back to this. If you are military or retired military, this is a great place to visit. Not far from Destin activities.
First, let me say that there is NO cable tv, although they advertise with it. The cable tv they advertise is for the mobile home side, not the RV side. All of the sites are grassy, but level. There are no picnic tables by your site--we had to drag one over from the middle of the park to sit at. The sites were very close together. We chose a site that had no one next to it, just so we could have some room. The staff was very friendly--he drove by about 3-4 times a day just to check on us and see if there was anything we needed. Bathhouses were clean but older. No activities for the kids. If we were traveling to Warm Springs again, we would probably try to stay somewhere else. Although they were one mile from FDR's Little White House and that was awesome. We would like one a bit more kid friendly and with cable. They are building a whole new RV site in Warm Springs--not sure when it's ready.
