We stayed here two nights at the end of the season in October. We picked the campground due to it's proximity to Mount Washington and the surrounding area. Having already spending over a week in several beautiful campgrounds and being in one of the prettiest places in New Hampshire we were very disappointed with Twin Mountain, which is just an open field with campsites right on top of each other with no vegetation to give even a hint of privacy. The staff was friendly and the sites are pretty level, there is some road noise, but it was just a place to park and we will not come back.
If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing night this is the place to come to. We stayed 2 nights in October at this really lovely, wooded campground right on the East Branch of the Penobscot River. Being at the end of the season there were very few people here but even in season the sites looked private enough to make this a nice place. Jeff the owner is very friendly and happy to accommodate and suggest places to see. We had "visits" from racoons, wild turkeys, and owls and because there aren't street lights everywhere like some campgrounds the stars are worth the trip alone. We would happily stay here again.
Not sure how to write this review. This place is the only game in town so if you're visiting Aspen it's pretty much where you stay. The folks running the place are very friendly and over all if you just need a place to sleep it's fine. We were here several nights. The grounds are right on the road and so there is road noise but it's white noise for the most part. The sites are very close together and by in large look to be either seasonal or year round homes. While generally quiet we did have a yippy dog next door but he only bothered us one night while his owner was out. It works, but it's not what we'd call pleasant.
What a wonderful place!! We stopped here on the way out and on the way back, I almost don't want to review it so to try and keep it a secret! Huge park and the grounds are way away from any noise from roads, trains, etc. Lots of space between sites and lots of open land around the general area. The bathrooms and showers were clean and the laundry was spacious and clean too. Even saw a hot air balloon down valley in the morning! With fees and park passes it's little on the pricey side but heck, it's lovely.
This is a lovely campground. Lots of big trees help make each site "your own" and there is a lovely lake/pond to add to the charm. The owners were very friendly and so were the folks camping. The only negatives - the highway is pretty close but we think of it as white noise and it wasn't a problem for us. The black water dump pipe was a bit too high out of the ground so we had to help things along. We will absolutely come here next time we're in the area.
