I have been to many State Parks in Florida and by far this is the nicest and beautiful State Park. Yes it is rustic and the roads are not paved and narrow. It's what camping is all about. The nature trails are so nice and wide and view is breath taking. The sites are shaded and the rolling hills, make this place #1 on my list of best campgrounds.

This campground is on a huge wildlife management area. There are three different parts to the campground. Two parts are primitive camp sites only. One of those is on the creek and the other is on a lake. The RV part is in an area between the primitive parts. There are shady RV spots, but not many. Most are very sunny. When the train came through it was kind of neat and it only happened one time while we were there. The store is well stocked with food and other supplies and the people who run it are very nice. The bathrooms were as clean as campground bathrooms can be expected to be. They were relatively close to all the RV sites, but pretty far from the primitive sites. They have a laundry facilities. Wood was directly delivered to your campsite when you bought it. It was a friendly place in a nice setting. It wasn't one of those huge KOA sites that has everything, but depending on what you like, this place may be just for you. It is in the middle of no where, so be prepared to travel if you have to run to the grocery store or want to eat out somewhere. This is a very nice CG to stay at.

If you ever find yourself in Orlando and want to camp, you must stay at this park. This facility is a City Park. It is so beautiful and awesome. It is very woodsy and lots of trees with lots of shade at your camp site. There are only a few sites with full hook up. We stayed in site 5 and was very happy with it. The camp sites are close to the Lake. It is so peaceful there. They have a swimming pool but it was only open on the weekend. We rented a boat and went fishing on the Lake. Bike riding is at it's best here, with the path being paved and hilly. They have a freebie golf course that is cool. There is also a Farm here with horses, cows, pigs, and billygoats, it's really neat. You are only a few minutes from the stores and restaurants, but in the camp ground you feel like you are in your own world. I would of given this park a 10, but you can't have camp fires there, so I gave it a 9. I would most definitely come back to this park.

This State Park is very nice. The campground is very wooded. The camp sites are a combo of sand and dirt. It rained while we were there, and some sites got flooded. I felt sorry for the tent campers, they got washed out. They have very nice hicking trails. We saw gators and snakes. They have a large swimming pool there with the center of the pool being about 5 feet deep. Nice, peaceful and quiet park. We will go there again.

This State Park is amazing. It is so beautiful there with lots of shade and big trees. The spring water was cold (73 degrees) the water was so clear you could see the bottom. Lots of wildlife. We had four deer walk though our camp site each night. The camp ground road is sand/diry as well as the camp sites. The sand was so fine it felt like you were walking on carpet. The only reason I did not give this Park a 10 is because the bathrooms were bad. There were so many bugs in the bathroom I was scared to go in. Other then that this Park is amazingly beautiful, and I will go back again.

For a Florida State Park, this one was very bad. There was hardly anyone staying in the camp ground, and that was with one loop closed for repairs. Now I know why. There is nothing to do there. At the playground area they offered horse shoe game, but the grass was so high around the stakes you could not see them. They say they have swimming there (one of my main reasons for going there), but they do not. There is a fresh water lake there, but there is no access to it. When we were there the swimming area was closed due to high bacteria in the water. There were a lot of bugs and flys at the camp site, we were not happy there and will never go back.

This camp ground is not very big, which made getting around easy. It was very nice, peaceful and quite. The sites are separated by foliage. The rangers and employees were very nice and helpful. There is a river to kayak on, which is very nice. We saw a lot of wildlife. Not too far down the road on US41 at Bonita Springs is a dog beach, where your dog can run free on the beach with the other dogs. The Historic site in interesting. We stayed in site 15. Only down fall was these things falling out of the trees, which made a mess. We saw a lot of fish in the river, but did not catch anything. If you're looking for a small, very quite camp ground I would stay here. The local seafood is very, very good and the beaches are not too far away, but there was a lot of traffic. We would stay here again.

We went to this place with friends for the weekend, plus it's only 20 minutes from my house. There is absolutely no electric/water/bathrooms/shower there. The sites were somewhat small with no shade. For what was there, it was over priced. Did have fire rings on the ground and lots of bike riding. Park is peaceful and relaxing but nothing to do there.

We went camping here for Thanksgiving. The site was very spacious and very woodsy and shaded. A very beautiful camping area, with lots to do. Hiking, bike riding, canoeing and swimming pool (only 3 feet deep). We camped with a group of friends and there was a volleyball court that was a blast to play. There are two camping areas, right by each other. The one we stayed in, the bathroom/shower building needs to be bulldozed and whole building rebuilt. I used the bathroom/shower in the other camping area. That bathroom/shower building was nice. I can't wait to camp again at this place. I was very impressed.

There are two camping areas here. One up front by highway and the other down by the river. It is a long drive to the camp sites down by the river. The sites are of normal size and very shady. Wild life all around. They have fire rings on the ground. There is a river there for boating, but not for swimming. Nice, long paved bike trails. Bathroom and shower rooms were old and need to be re-modeled, half the things were not in working order. However, it's a very peaceful, relaxing place to stay and I would go there again.

I have been here a few times. Rangers are friendly. The sites are very shady, but a little close to each other. Fire rings on the ground, you can buy fire wood at ranger station. Hiking trails and some bike riding. No swimming area or water/river to canoe on. However the Park is very peaceful and relaxing. They were even armadillos walking in our site, and that was cool. I would stay here again.

We were promised a certain site, but when we checked in, the site was already given away. But staff was very pleasant and assisted us in finding a site suitable. No fire rings, you have to bring your own fire pit. Cable TV was not all the great, had to change sites due to no cable TV at the site. Lots were spacious and somewhat shaded. Back area good for travel trailer and tents. Close by to Old Town Park. Park is a little high in price, but would stay there again.
