Mixed bag at this KOA. First, it's 5 long miles outside of Durango perched on top of a hill in the middle of scrub brush and gravel. If you are seeking pleasing aesthetics this is not the place for you. KOA is running a 'buy one get one night' special in August so I asked at the front desk if I could get that. The teenage boy working check-in was clueless And asked the manager. The manger seemed put out and told him that they were 'too busy' to participate in that. I can only conclude that this KOA has a captive market and is therefore not compelled to offer a high quality product to their customers. The swimming pool was nice. Sites near the front have a lot of road noise but its quiet in the back. Go to this campground if you need an overnight in Durango while in transit but my recommendation is that you do not make this a destination.

This was a run of the mill KOA. The property is not the least bit attractive but it served it's purpose as a one night stop over on our way from Great Sand Dunes to Durango. The water smelled strongly of sulfur so you wouldn't want to fill your water tank with it. The sites are all gravel and appear to be relatively level. Space is abundant so big rigs can maneuver easily. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean. They advertise great mountain views but there's so much clutter between the campground and those mountains that the scenic view is a bit laughable. The staff was friendly and helpful. This property is about 20 mins from Great Sand Dunes.

This is a very nice campground. It is 12 miles from the entrance to Zion National Park so the logistics to Zion and Bryce are good. It is advertised as a 'luxury campground' and I will admit that it's one of the nicest we've ever stayed at. The sites are mostly concrete and level. The landscaping is nice. The pool, store, showers, and other amenities are very good. The people working here are friendly and helpful. We had booked a premium lot prior to arrival. When we got to the site (a back in along the river) it was all gravel with little shade and the hookups were so far forward that we practically had to park on the street. We went to the office and asked to be moved and they a willingly complied. The only wrinkle was the site we chose was $12 less per night and they refused to refund the difference to my credit card. Instead they gave us a credit for the store. Not a huge issue as we had a few items we needed and were able to spend the credit. Nevertheless, be careful of the no refund policy. My kids and I swam in the pool and that entire area was very nice.

High quality campground. Much of the property is occupied by 'permanent' cabins but the available sites are paved, level, and in a well groomed campground. The location is several miles North of the town of Breckenridge but there's a free shuttle bus at the end of the campground that you can catch and a fantastic bike path into town as well (note, the walk from your site to the bus stop could be 15 minutes. Overall, very nice facilities. We will return many times in the future as this is the best location for Breckenridge, Frisco, and Summit County.

I have mixed reviews about this campground. First, the positives: The staff is abundant, helpful, and customer oriented. The people staying in the campground are also quite friendly and seem respectful to those around them. The location is right on the Big Thomson River which is nice to walk along during an evening stroll, but there are not river side camping sites. There is a lot of family activities ranging from fishing in the pond to a small playground and a swimming pool. Now, the negatives: The sights are jammed in together. Every location was tight. The only spaces that looked like you had breathing room were the three that sit at the back of the campground near the trees. The sites are not level and all dirt/grass/gravel. If you are interested in some personal space, this is not the campground to go to. During the time we were there, we witnessed three significant errors made with reservations or customers placed in the wrong campsites (including coming back and finding someone in ours). The staff made it right every time, but it certainly didn't inspire much confidence in the accuracy of their reservations system.
