This is a clean park with average size, grass with shade and sun sites but very narrow roads. The park is quiet at night. There is a long paved nature walk to the beach. Great for those who enjoy a walk in nature. We take a wagon to pull our towels, chairs and picnic. The beach is clean, warm and sandy. It's a great park. If the sites were easier to navigate with a larger trailer we would go back to Brighton in a second.
Nice sized and secluded sites. The park was clean and quiet with many bike/hike trails throughout. The facilities were clean as well. Not recommended for those who want to swim as the beach water didn't appear to be clean. This park is also within 20 miles of a prison so that was a little uncomfortable. The only other thing which may have been just the season was the mosquitoes were thick.
We have camped here about 7 times because it's half way for our friends. All but one time the site was very wet (water between bare toes) and this time was a swamp. Dandelion weeds are overtaking throughout the sites and park. The pizza and ice cream are great and the pool is nice but too small for the size of the park. If you don't use the bathroom in your camper expect a very long walk to the facilities. There is only one playground at the front of the park which is a long way from the back of the park. 4th of July fireworks are wonderful and the park is usually quiet at night. This is a resort campground and not for the "real" campers that enjoy the outdoors. No trees or wildlife will be found here.
This is our favorite campground. The North area is grassy and less trees. South is sandy and shady. The sites are roomy and staff is friendly. The beach is clean but the lake is over fished so not a lot of catches. They have movies for the kids in the pole barn and of course ice cream. The park can be loud in the late evening but not always. This is a great park for those who love to camp without being entertained. Those who would rather entertain themselves in nature.
We stay here a lot. The lots are average size and there are a lot of options. They have three or four super sites for the big rigs that are very nice. There are always lots of planned activities and the pools are well kept. Most of the entertainment is at the front of the park so walking or biking is dangerous and hectic. Halloween weekends are the best here. The fellow campers has changed over the last couple years and I would recommend locking your cars and other things if you leave them.
This is our 3rd year at this campground. It is the best on the South side of the Mackinac Bridge. The sites on the water give a view of the bridge but are windy from the lake. The sites on the water are also narrow but recently deepened. The pool is below average but the beach to swim in the lake is perfect. The playgrounds are the kids meeting place and they really have a good time there. The cabins are well done but need better ventilation. Overall the campground is affordable and close to all the area attractions.
There is so much to do at this park you won't have to leave. It's a large park that has entertainment throughout and not just at the front of the park like other resort campgrounds. This allows for easy walking and riding bikes throughout the park with less traffic. Everything is a little more expensive but that probably pays for all the entertainment. They have announcements in the evening to return all bikes, skateboards, etc. to your site so the evenings are nice and quiet. Sites were big and escorts take you to them. We loved this park but stayed on Independence weekend and were only disappointed by the lack of scheduled activities. No fireworks.
