Excellent Campground, nice size sites... Staff seemed to be bored since they nitpicked me for having my bike parked 50 feet out of the RV area... We use our tandem to ride distance and as transportation, the staff member told me we couldn't ride outside of RV area. Also no sewer connection, which is minor.
We love Pirate Land, and plan on returning as soon as possible, only a few issues... One, being the Wireless access is not free, and the amount of Golf Carts during the Memorial Day period was overwhelming... We expected this and dealt with it but I consider that a negative.. I understand people wanting to use them and I don't suggest a ban or anything . I didn't notice underage people driving, but it is hard to tell on some of the teenagers. All facilities were great and we plan to reserve 4th of July next year..
We really enjoyed our stay at this campground, as the sites weren't huge but they were fine for what we needed. The pool was a little cold still, but the playground and sandbox was great for my kids( 3 1/2 and 22 months) also the road was paved so my kids could ride their bikes with no issues.
The campground is OK for a overnight, but this campground isn't really kid friendly, as the playground doesn't have a slide. Also there isn't much tree cover, and you are close to the road. The pool wasn't open when we were there, but it looked like they were preparing it for use. The sites were very close together as well.
Excellent experience would visit again for sure, Only thing preventing a 10 is no sewer hookups, excellent sites, a little tight to get into, but once you are in it is great, all facilities are clean and in good working order, Bike paths are excellent!
Excellent campground, only thing was some of the sites were tight to get into. Road is narrow, but once I was in the site, everything else was great. Shower and restrooms were almost brand new, and was spotless. Would love to have sewer hookup but don't really expect it in GA State Parks..just wish GA SP system would get a system to allow specific site reservation as we were with a rally group, and was spread out.
Staff was very nice, and very friendly, sites were small though, and road narrow. WiFI worked well, and seemed to be full speed DSL, not lite..was on a Linksys G router, which is a positive thing. Everything was clean though.
Everything was great! Only thing I would of liked would of been a sewer hookup, but not to be expected in a State Park. The 2nd camping section is the new section. The sites are larger in the new section
