This campground is all about the location. It makes a great base camp to do things in the MVW area. However, if you want to "camp" and do things at the campground, this is probably not the place for you as there is little to do. The playground is very old and not young kid friendly, the store was not open when we stayed (late June), laundry is in the arcade. If you need firewood, be prepared, they charge $6 for a bag of 6 small logs. Pool is very small and I imagine during peak times must be very crowded. We will stay here again when we come to the area as all we are looking for is a base camp and spend the majority of our time not at camp.

Overall, this is a very nice campground and would stay here again. It has a lot to do both inside and outside of the park. The sites are good sized and are shaded (forget about satellite). They do have cable, though, with lots of channels. The staff is very nice and very helpful. There are a few things that I want to point out though. 1. The roads have some tight turns to make with a 31 foot TT. The entrance is also tight. There is just not a lot of room to swing wide in order to make the turns. If you have a big set up, you can get in here but be prepared to really watch the turns in this park. This could be helped if they cut down a tree or two and shrunk down the "islands" a little bit. I find this problem a lot in all the campgrounds in New England. They just were not built for big campers. 2. For some reason, they would not issue a gate card unless you put up a $10 cash deposit. So if you come back after 5 PM you have to get out and find the gate card left for the late arrivals and then return it. 3. They do offer Wi-Fi but it is terrible. It is hit or miss and it took me about 10 minutes just to log into my bank to see my balances. If they were smart, they would dump who ever provides their service. 4. The cable TV picture is not very good. Although I am impressed by the number of channels and it's great that they offer cable at all. The picture has a lot of static and lines. I know it's not my camper as I hook up satellite all the time to my camper. I only mention those four things as constructive criticism. All in all, this is a great campground and if you are looking for a nice place, this is it. One more thing, I just want to comment on the dog park. It is a nice park but it's not the best. It has a lot of trees and a lot of tree roots which makes it hard for the dogs to run and it makes it hard to throw a ball for them. There is no grass at all. They do have some agility equipment and toys which is very nice. They also have plenty of waste bags. They also have kennels. They are just fenced cages with cement floor and no roof. No shelter either to protect from rain. Sun is not really an issue as there are a lot of trees.

Not a bad campground. Our site was a very good size, and in a quiet area. However, some sites did look tight. We didn't have the water pressure problem that others have spoken about until the weekened when the place started to fill up. I am sure if it were full the pressure would have been real bad. We did experience the sewer problem on our last day. Went to empty the black tank and the sewer was backed up. Had to stop at dump station on the way out to empty tanks.

Good campground. We were in a site along the back field and it was quiet. They have a lot of great things for the kids to keep them busy, swimming, mini golf, pool and lake for swimming, more than 1 playground. we have been there twice and will be back again next year or maybe even this fall.

We love this place. Small, quiet, clean!! We have camped their twice now, this last trip was for over a week. The owners are very friendly and keep a clean campground. If you want to be right in the heart of Gatlinburg then this is not the place for you, but if you want to enjoy the mountains and have an easy drive into Gatliburg then we highly recommend visiting Smoky Bear.

Good campground for a stop over on way to final destination. Easy after hour check in. The sites are tight. Took us two trips around the campground before we got the angle right to pull into our site without running over the sewer connection. It was really nice to have cable on the stop over so no need to try to hook up satellite for one night. Will be staying here again on stop overs.

This was an OK campground. They need to do some work on their roads, they are gravel and have huge washout spots. We were almost afraid we wouldn't get our rig out of there. Our main complaint though is that they only have 15 amp service for the electric and that was not told to us when we booked. We were told full hook ups which to us meant 30 Amp at least.
