Our truck broke down just outside of Lordsburg. We didn't even know this place existed. We have always just driven through. We found a mechanic in town who referred us to the KOA. The park itself is nothing spectacular to look at and the area around it is questionable, but the man at the front desk was very kind and extremely helpful. They have a pool and laundry room. The parks looks like a dirt lot with hook-ups. There are a few trees dotted throughout. They have a big clubhouse and play area for kids. Not a destination KOA, but sufficient for an overnight or two.

The sites are privately owned, so they are very well taken care of. The boardwalk to the beach is just fantastic. Park is super clean and dog friendly. Our site overlooked one of the ponds. The turtles will come up to you and say hi. There are beautiful cranes that hang out on the pond's edges. We considered buying one of the lots, it is so beautiful. The only thing I didn't like much was that there is only 1 trash area by the office, so if you have dogs, it makes for a trash run several times a day. Otherwise, this is a beautiful place to stay when vacationing in Port Aransas.

Our truck broke down again and we sat on the side of the freeway for 2 hours. Eventually, we found a KOA nearby and asked if they could help. The husband of the work camper couple came out, hooked up our trailer, and towed us to a beautiful site overlooking the wildlife reserve and pool area. We ended up staying 2 nights while figuring out what to do with our truck. We felt welcomed right away. Yes, there are a lot of permanent residents there, but the park was clean and inviting. There are several wild birds, including peacocks, walking around and they will even stop to pose for a picture. I am so grateful for all the help and hospitality we received from this KOA. We will stay here again when traveling through this part of TX.

We stayed here twice while travelling through Texas. There are quite a few permanent residents, but the sites are clean and spacious. If you don't cook on "drive days", I recommend the local Chinese food restaurant. They deliver right to your RV. The construction in the area made it hard to get to the park. Front office staff was super friendly and very accommodating. It was great for an overnight stop.

There are lots of trees and a small pond. Roads are narrow, but easy to drive on. Pool was always full of people. I too have never seen so many Class C motor home rentals. I almost felt out of place with my travel trailer. Our site had trash in it when we arrived and the sewer hook up had a small hole in the pipe so it wasn't fun to drain our tanks. Restrooms were filthy and the floors were always wet. Overall, the park is beautiful and the ladies in the office were friendly. Great location to access Yosemite. Closest town is 7 miles away and locals are very friendly. We will not stay here again when we return to this area.

We stayed here twice as our half way stopping point from Arizona to Carmel. The first time we got a pull through in the A section. We could see the lake in the distance and wondered what the lower section is like so we booked a water front site in the lower F section on our return trip. How beautiful. There is grass and trees everywhere and the lake is just breathtaking. Sitting out on our lawn chairs in front of the lake, people and friendly ducks came by for a visit. All the fire pits were lit up at night by other RVers. We would love to stay here again when passing through this part of California. I gave this a 9 because the restrooms looked something like ones you would find in a public park with no doors, no hand soap and strange looking mirrors. Also, the airport is quite busy with all the small aircraft flying right over us. Overall, this park is absolutely beautiful and highly recommended.

What can I say, this is one of the most beautiful resorts I've ever stayed at. It was hard to find good pictures of this resort so I wasn't sure what to expect. If you go onto their website, the pictures they have on there are not even close to what this place looks like. We had a large ocean front site. We backed our trailer in, put out our chairs right behind it and there was the Pacific. What a beautiful backyard! There's something about the sound of the ocean waves 24/7. There is a walking trail that starts on one end of the resort and goes all the way to town. We walked several times to the grocery store using this path and having the Pacific right next to us was really a treat! The resort is spotless. Staff are extremely helpful. They told us about a bus that stops across the street that takes you into San Francisco so no driving is needed. They allow you to wash your RV and vehicle right at your site. Very dog friendly. It was nice to walk our dogs on their little dogie area then take them on the water front trail for a little stroll. I love this place and hope to return very soon.

We had the end spot with the river right behind us. The frogs chirping at night was really comforting. The park is beautiful with plenty of shade and grass. Grounds are well kept up and there are flowers everywhere. It is pitch dark at night as the park doesn't allow your porch light to stay on so we used flashlights to walk our dogs. Very dog friendly. They make it a stern point that you have to leash and pick up after your dogs. However, their dogs are running free and doing their business all over the place. I found one of them in my site every morning next to a little wet spot. We were here 8 nights and the bathrooms were only cleaned once. The road going to the park is beautiful and narrow in many spots, yes, even the bridge, but its easy and the owners stagger the check in and out times so RVers won't have any problems. If you have a problem with your site, please don't blame it on the resort. The lady in the front office is very defensive and doesn't seem to believe that things do break and its not always the guest's fault. Our issues got resolved promptly, but I didn't return to the office for anything else. Overall, the small issues we had didn't ruin our stay in any way and the park is perfectly located for Carmel and Monterrey adventures.

We stayed in a full hook up site. There are partial hook up sites with a view of the water, but they are all dirt with no trees. We were here during Memorial Day weekend, and it was packed! I was impressed how they kept the restrooms and property cleaned with all those people there. Security was always around. Very pet friendly and watercraft friendly. There are two ramps to launch your boat from. We have an inflatable raft, which is very heavy, so we utilized the boat ramps. Each time went very smooth and the people seemed tolerant of our small boat. Great dog run! It's all grass with a couple benches for mom and dad to sit on while business is being taken care of. They clean the restrooms daily, but don't close them since there is only one. Water pressure is bad especially when all the showers are being used at the same time, but the water is hot and refreshing after a long day on the lake! Pool is nice, but we didn't use it. I gave this resort a 9 because of all the dirt. They have paved roads but dirt lots and there was always so much of it in our coach. We will definitely stay here again!

What a fantastic park! Perfectly located with nice public park. We had a view of the marina. Great restaurants! Both are dog friendly. Close to San Diego yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Very quiet. Resort was full for Thanksgiving weekend. Make reservations early to get best spot with a view. A bit strict on where the dogs can "go" but it was nice not seeing their "business" lying around. Resort kept the all dirt dog areas clean. Make sure to get a key. You can use it to access the public park. Very beautiful! We will for sure stay here again!

This was an absolutely beautiful park! Our site was water front. Lots of trees and grass. There are swings and little bridges in the "park" area. Squirrels everywhere. Deer came up right behind our camp site at night. Wish we would have known about this little gem of a park, we would have stayed longer during our vacation. Restrooms are very clean. They even have an adult only restroom and pool area. I highly recommend this park! We will stay here again if passing through this part of Texas.

We had a good site. Close to board walk to the beach. Don't forget your golf cart! The park is huge and I wished I had one! You can drive it on the board walk over to the beach. About a half mile up the island there is a beach access road where you can drive your truck on the beach. Park was packed on the weekend with kids and families. Restrooms were somewhat clean. Laundry room was nice . We would stay here again.

This is a beautiful park! We were waterfront and that was nice to wake up to in the morning! Great restaurant with fishing trips that leave from their dock. No swimming or beach as this park is on the bay. Isla Blanca is right next door and has good beaches. There is a trolley that picks up from the park and takes you all the way up the island. There are many beach areas to choose from. The restrooms, office, and TV/game room are inside an old water tower. Restrooms were super clean! Pool is beautiful! Rate reflects our entire family with pets. We would stay here again!

What a fantastic park! Very beautiful with lots of trees. Nice pool and well stocked store. We noticed the Fed Ex business behind the park, but there was no noise from it. The only reason I didn't give this park a 10 is the location. It was hard to find and not in a good part of town. We missed our exit and ended up taking back roads through neighborhoods. It was a little scary at night. Close to the Riverwalk. They have a trolley that picks up from the park to downtown so you don't have to drive. We did not stay here on our return trip.

This park is OK for an overnight. We stayed here twice while passing through. Both times we requested a pull through which are backed up to a tractor trailer storage facility. Staff was very nice and helpful! There is a Chinese place that delivers right to your RV which comes in handy after a long day of driving! No grass anywhere, not even in the dog run. They have a section for campers without pets too. Restrooms very clean! We would stay here again.

This park was okay. Absolutely no shade anywhere. The sites were too close together, but you could put your awning out part way. Very windy everyday. Not that pet friendly. They have a dog beach, but its mainly rocks and its way at the end of the park. No dogs are allowed on the main beach or in any of the buildings/pool area. No grass anywhere. Its all gravel and dirt. Be sure to bring or rent a watercraft. We did not do either one, but instead took a drive to the dam, which was nice. Our site was on the second row so we could see a little of the river. We did not have any interest in purchasing a membership. Restrooms were somewhat clean. We will not stay here again.

Excellent campground! We had a spot right in front of the water. Lots of shade trees. Very friendly staff! We forgot towels so the staff gave us some to use during our stay. 2 fire pits. The water flowing was a nice sound to wake up to. I would have given this park a 10, but there was a bit of highway noise above and lots of road construction.
