Great campground. We went the week before Memorial Day and they were not cleaned up yet. However taking into consideration the RV site is under the Redwoods, we didn't care our site wasn't cleanup. Lots of room between each RV. Our site had only trees behind us for as far as we could see so we loved our site. The only negative on our site was that highway 101 was just above us so we had road noises all night long. That we could live with to have our site. The women's showers were clean but in one shower the handle looked like it was ready to fall off. When I turned on the shower the water sprayed a lot of places other than where it should. I couldn't get the water warm. I tried another shower and the handle was also bad but the water did get warm. Not a great amount of pressure but OK. This is the only reason I didn't give them a full 10 rating.
This is a dirt RV park with dirt roads going to it. At first I thought our GPS was wrong taking us down the lumpy dirt road. But near the end of the road this RV Park turned up. No tables for each site. Just a gravel, dirt parking lot. My opinion on this location is not great due to the heavy winds and dust blowing everywhere. I will NOT come back again.
This RV site was a surprise as to how nice it was. You have to stop at the market in a small shopping center to register. You don't see the RV Park from there. The RV Park is found taking a road that goes around the small shopping center and down a hill. Each site has a covered picnic table. Sites were gravel but are fairly level (still have to do a little correction). The showers were laid out nicely, but they were fairly dirty. Park is very close to the Carlsbad Caverns.
This park is very well groomed, considering it is mostly dirt. Sites are smoothed out by a man using a tractor with a rake behind it. I was amazed seeing him out first thing in the morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The sites were large enough to have enough space between them. The pool water was a perfect temperature, and the showers were fine. I would come back again.
Large paved site. When we first arrived around noon it was pretty empty, but by the evening, it was full. The bathrooms and showers were good. We wanted to go to Kartchner Caverns so this is a perfect place to go. We would come again.
I called about two months ahead of time to make a reservation. The office lady asked me if I needed wireless internet connection. I said yes and she said she would put me in a site that would be able to get it. When we finally arrived, she remembered our phone conversation and had saved a space right by the office. Good connection. The next day we went to visit "Rawhide," and it was about 90 degrees outside, and we had to leave our two small dogs in our RV. I was concerned leaving them in case the electricity got turned off for any reason. I asked the office manager to keep an eye on our RV and check a few times to make sure the air conditioner was still on. When we got back all was well. She came over and told me she checked our RV a number of times. I couldn't ask for any better service than that. Location is good; lots of room for RV and car in tow. I would come back here again if I am in the area.
I agree with the last reviewer. The pool is closed but they still charged us $7 per person to enter the park plus our RV site fee. There is nothing else to see here other than the pool. We are already paying for the parking. The RV sites are nice with the covered tables. Compared to the RV sites we could see on the side of the road on our way up here, this place is great. Even with no pool, we would come again.
