This was our first "RV Park." I was expecting a trailer park feel but it wasn't that bad. The staff was extremely helpful and the continued maintenance was obvious. It was worth the extra money for location and service.
The staff was very friendly, the sites are pretty spacious and fairly level. The campground was quiet despite being large and near the roadway. We only stayed one night on our way back to TX from Glacier NP, wish we could've stayed longer.
The staff were available and friendly. This is a nice spot on McDonald Lake, we were able to walk down to the lake from our campsite. The rangers do a nightly program in the amphitheater. We stayed in a site near the entrance to loop C (no generator loop). The sites in this area were mostly level but not so much toward the back of the loop.
This campground may not be the most scenic campground in the park, but compare to almost anywhere else, it's great. The location is ideal for exploring the eastern regions. We stayed 3 nights with no issues. The staff were present and friendly. A threaded potable water spout is available at the entrance, with plenty of water spouts in the campground. This was a very quiet campground.
Campsites very well maintained, located on Joe Pool lake. There is something for everyone. You'd need days to hike all the trails in the surrounding hills. Only downside is the city noise and how busy the park is almost year round.
Beautiful sunrise and sunset! Clean but older facilities. No problems with connections in below freezing temperatures. Enjoy what the area has to offer and know that both the Big Bend Ranch State Park and Big Bend National Park are a long drive south. We base camped at Ft Davis during our Big Bend region trip but agree that we will take the trailer south when we return. McDonald observatory is very close.
