IMPORTANT TO NOTE that this is 1 park with 2 different "rental agencies"! bluewaterkey.net & bluewaterkey.com. We have used both (stayed here 4 times) but bluewaterkey.net (Rita Clark is the name of this agencies owner and husband and wife team Dennis & Pat are the hosts) is the better of the 2! This RV resort (I just can't call it a campground) is the most beautiful place we have stayed in 7 yrs of RVing. The sites are so private thanks to the great landscaping, you hardly notice the other RV's. And nothing beats sitting under the Ttiki hut as the sun sets or fishing off your own private dock which is just off from the Tiki hut! All the sites here are beautiful but the hosts for bluewaterkey.net are the best cg hosts I have ever dealt with. Their knowledge of the area and what to see and do is priceless. They told us things that we did not know about and we have been here several times! They told us to call anytime if we had a question and they gave us a bin full of info on places to go and things to do and see when we checked in. Information like this is priceless because I don't want to waste my vacation time trying to "figure out an area" I want to go and enjoy it! We will absolutely come back again and book through bluewater.net they have earned our business.
We only "overnighted" in this park. Unfortunately we were not impressed. The road in the campground desperately needed the trees trimmed back. The man at the front desk who checked us in was anything but friendly. When we got to our site it was the hardest one in the row to back into. All the sites around us where empty but I figured they were reserved but when we left in the morning they were still empty. I would have thought we could have been assigned any easier to get in/out of spot but apparently they do not know their sites or they simply don't give consideration to that. It could be a nice park if customer service were improved.
Very nice park. Even though it was 4th of July, the park was not rowdy. This park seemed to have a lot of seasonal sites but they were all very nicely maintained. The only complaint I can make is that the seasonal sites were nicer than the transient sites.
Nice clean park. Not fancy, but a great place to explore MDI and Acadia NP from. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. They don't take reservations so call ahead to make sure they have empty sites. This works well if you are not sure how long you want to stay, because once you are on a site you can continue to stay until you are ready to move on. We will definitely stay here again.
