Our rate reflects either the AAA discount or senior discount. Very nice RV park! Good full length RV pull-throughs with extra patio area with picnic tables. If you stayed 3 nights you got 2 nights free but we could not because it was already fully booked on the Friday and your free nights can't be weekends. Weekends are $45 or if there is entertainment (Hank Williams Jr was playing on the Friday night that was booked) it was going to be $65 for that night! Even if you didn't have tickets for the show. Lots of people coming and go though so be prepared to get woke up by diesel motorhomes and pickups. Train near by and you will here it if it bothers you. Shuttle bus comes to get you to go to casino ...put up your flag on your light box at your site. Bingo every night but Mon and Tues. Two sessions on Saturday. Every main game is $1000. Husband came away with $250 so it was worth it!
Very small park. Very convenient. Gravel pull-throughs. Find your spot, read the lot number on the electric outlet box, take a pen, go to kiosk where there are envelopes, fill out the envelope and put in $12 for each night you are staying. Place envelope in the box. There is a crew that does come around to check on the grounds. There is a nice cement sidewalk around the outside to go for walk or bike ride. We saw about 18-20 deer on the property at dusk and early morning. A beautiful site. Trees are quite small but it is well kept. There was someone that must have stayed the winter in a very plain looking trailer with a wrap around the water hose. He wasn't there much. It is also near the cemetery.
Very friendly staff and most helpful. We parked here for a week in site 1. Only complaint would be the type of gravel used on our lot. Huge sharp rocks like what is used for highway base. I have trouble walking on even ground so this was quite difficult for me. There were other sites available, but this is the one she gave us even when mentioning the large rocks and my situation. The couple next door had a dog that barked every time someone went by. I would have blocked his view at the door way or shut it. It is a good campground for a stop over and it was good and quiet here. Each lot has a nice picnic table but no cement under it. Some distance from the beaches but it worked for us. Wouldn't recommend for kids as they would be bored! Free WiFi worked very well as did the free cable.
We stayed here for the month of January 2014. We were greeted by very friendly staff. Also were escorted to our site which was the second one on the right as you come in the main road. This was a good thing to get escorted as the lots are filled with very low branches of live oak trees. The lots at the front get decent internet but not as you get further into the park. Cable type boxes are required to get TV. It was very cold this year and the pool was empty. Laundry 1.25 per load. Noticed someone putting dog bed and blankets into the machines..no designated machine for it. I have allergies. Also heard workers leave very early mornings from adjacent park. Very noisy. Air boats also noisy leaving early in the mornings for duck hunting. Had many sleepless nights. Not much happening in the park itself. New hall and out buildings are very clean. Find your own fun things to do. Shopping is Walmart and HEB for everything or you had to go all the way to Corpus. Ferry over to Port Aransas is nice..watch for the dolphins. Can't park on beach without permits. Not enough there to make me stay again.
