We stayed at this campground twice. The first time was a pleasant surprise. The second time by design. This campground is located near I40 but we did not hear the traffic. The hosts were extremely helpful with suggestions of local points of interest to visit and detailed directions. We plan to make this particular campground a regular stop when we travel through the area.
Although this park is very pretty, the amenities are nil. It was the only park in the area which could accommodate our motorhome. The only hook-up available was 30 amp electric. In order to fill our water tank and empty our holding tanks, we had to move our RV to the bathhouse. The campground advertises as having security but, no matter how late at night we returned, the gates were always open. We never saw any guard. This campground is much better suited to tents than to motorhomes.
This park is a little out of the way but well worth the trip. I do not remember the rate but they are part of the Good Sam group so we received a discount through that membership. During the off season, the camp store is only open Thursday through Sunday. However, the owners live across the drive from the store and will open the store if they see a potential customer drive up. The campground is very well maintained with leveled sites available for large motorhomes. This was our favorite campground in Pennsylvania.
This is a lovely park. The owners were very helpful and considerate. Our only difficulty was that, due to the dense trees, we were unable to use our satellite for television. Because the inaugural Steelers' game was played during our visit, the owners set up the big screen in the pavilion for us. That, in my opinion, is great customer service.
