We were looking for a place not to far off US 31. Am glad we stopped here. We were escorted to site. Checked in after hooking up. Friendly staff. We were so happy with this place we stopped on our way back home. 2 dog parks plus a petting "zoo" are a nice touch. Place is the best run KOA we have ever stayed at.
What a pleasure this park is. We were in the Ceders campground on the back loop; it has less traffic. A lot of improvements being done. A walk to the lighthouse is a must.. We have stayed in many state parks but will judge the rest against this one. A Must See!
We were here with a group. Our pull through site had standing water, and I spotted a few in the area with the same drainage problems. Site was more mud than gravel. A nice park and still early in the season. Hook-ups were close and worked fine. Excellent wi-fi.
This being the closest park to us, we have tried to enjoy this place. But always leave disappointed. Only 1 site with a lake view F-13. No privacy between sites. All fire rings are located in a line in the back of sites. The internet was terrible. Sites are tight. Expect more for the high rates.
Check-in very smooth. Friendly campground host. Sites VERY tight! Mostly level pads. $5.00 key deposit for shower/restrooms, refundable upon check-out. Clean but peeling paint. Ok for shower, plenty of pressure and hot water. Additional fee for Wi-Fi. $1day/$5week. Signal for Wi-Fi did not reach site, but short walk to Gazebo for excellent signal. Campground was at capacity during our stay. With that getting into some spots could prove to be difficult with awnings. The views of the river are second to none. Watching the river traffic was a great way to relax from our trip into Downtown Madison. Just a short drive away. We would stay here again.
Stayed a week here. Nice park, fills up on the week-ends. Some shady spots to be had. Direct sun and tight sites along front entrance. Perfect location to beach and shops. Friendly staff and great mix of locals. Would have rated higher but Wi-Fi was spotty at best.
Small campground with mountain views from premium sites, reflected in price. Nice overlook area, wild turkeys and various other wildlife. Shower House and Laundry very clean. Washers were dated but worked fine. Nice trails. A great place to just relax. Chimney Rock a must see while in area. Close to town. Would stay again when in area.
Park is close to highway, so good off and on. Clean facilities no problem with Wi-Fi, and full cable TV. Has a nice pool area and game room; newer washers and dryers. Park was a little tight with pull-throughs: Almost saw slides touching. Good for an overnight with nice staff.
Wow, what a pleasure this park is, from the great staff to the landscaped level sites. Escort to site. Clean facilities. Fast Wi-Fi connection. Clear Cable TV channels. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. Less than a mile to Anna Maria Island. Close to everything you could want. Well worth the money, you get what you pay for. Will be back.
As a member of a large camping group, we share experiences and then plan trips to those destinations that the membership would enjoy. We were looking forward to our visit to F.H. R.V. Park. Upon arrival the office was closed on Sundays, We were not informed of this when we made reservation or told with e-mail confirmation. Just a sign on the door stating which sites were available for those with a reservation. Out of the handful of sites, most had deep ruts leading off the blacktop to sand sites. Major leveling required. All hook-ups close and convenient, but sites are very close together. If slides are out not much room for anything else. CG hostess was very helpful and friendly, Wi-Fi did operate fast and load quickly. Cable stations are fuzzy at best on a new TV. Our stay was overnight, and when we awoke were greeted with the smell of raw sewage. We were so disappointed with this park, we had planned on staying again on our trip back home. But will find another place.
