Rural, basic RV park. Dirt/gravel interior roads. Friendly manager. We actually went clear into Carlsbad looking for a nicer park. Most looked pretty rough and the KOA was several miles in the wrong direction for us (we were stopping at the Caverns on the way to San Antonio). We don't care about amenities, just that it's flat and the utilities are good. Spent two nights. Closest park to the Carlsbad Caverns. About a 15-20 mile drive into Carlsbad. We drove there for dinner and a movie the second night.
Basic RV park. Pool was closed but it was windy so it didn't matter. Out of town about 6-8 miles (east). Flat area, gravel interior roads. Near Super 8, diner, and Exxon Truck stop. We are fully self-contained so don't care about showers and restrooms. Just looking for a safe place to spend the night with hook-ups. Cable was a nice bonus.
