The campground is not laid out very well. It is a good area for ATVing. We stayed 3 nights, and it was quiet. There is a16 mile climb from I-40. Just take your time on the curves, and you'll be fine.

My wife wanted to spend her 60th birthday here, as she loved our visit last year. While the park has not changed the service level has greatly. When I arrive I was told my reservation was for only 6 nights, we booked 7 nights. I was told to take it or leave. We took it as we drove over 800 miles to get there. We then had two meals at the nugget cafe, the service was terrible. We have been here the previous year and the service was a 100% better.

We started our UP vacation at this campground. We loved the location, and the park itself. The park was real clean, and well taken care of.

We stopped here on our way back from Colorado. It is a very clean park, but the trees need a little trimming.

Great state park. We had a lake side site with full hook ups. This area had just been redone, and it was excellent.

We stay here on our way to Chicago. It is the half way point. We like it because there are full hookups, and easy in and out. It also has a good restaurant.

We picked this camp because of dog rules. It turned out to be a great place. We had the top teired site number 30 and it was great. There where no permanent campers or loggers. If you atv there are trails right outside the campground. Monarch Pass was just up the road. The aspen where turning and the views where outstanding. The owner took over from her brother who died. She lived on the site when she was a kid, and spoke of all the history.
