Very friendly and helpful staff. Sites are mostly filled with long term tenants. They keep 3 open for travelers if full. Just off of 820 SB so good for traveling through. No showers or washrooms for your use. Laundromat available for your use. Sites are level.
Nice neat park but moving around with your rig is a chore due to narrow loose gravel roads, sharp bends and steep grades. Dusty due to gravel. Friendly staff and a quiet park. Good for an overnight stay for us and we would use it again.
This is probably the best RV park in the area it is located. Streets are getting run down as pavement broken up and dusty. The main staff woman is very pleasant and helpful. The others could use personnel training on how to deal with the public. Not that they were ignorant, but more disinterested in what your wants or concerns were. The men's showers are lacking any clothes/towel hooks in very small shower areas. Very inconvenient as you have to hang you clothes and towels over the edge of the shower stalls into the adjacent stall or toilet. Not very nice. Facilities such as sewer, water and electric were good. Sites sufficiently large but trees can interfere with awning use. I would stay here again, but if things were fixed up a bit I would rate the park higher.
The showers were dirty, as if people with dirty shoes were in the dressing area of each shower. Don't know how often they are cleaned, but could be improved. Water pressure was so high it hurt. They need to address this issue. Lots were nice and large. Wi-Fi was good but not secure. Cable TV was the pits. We went to our antenna instead. No one in the office ever. You had to walk to the hotel registration desk to check in. Very convenient if you want to gamble, and the price is right.
This park is near the Flying J. It is old and in need of major over haul. Washrooms and laundry were disgusting. We stayed here because we were tired otherwise we would have left. Park is actually pretty with all the trees but there has to be a puppy mill there as dogs yipped all night. I would have rated it as a 1 except the owners were friendly.
We read other reviews on this park and their website and decided to stay here rather than the park we have stayed at before. A mistake as the other park is a better value. Sites very narrow. Your tip outs are over your neighbors site. To pull away you have to make sure your neighbor moves his truck. Pool small but nice and not heated as stated in their web page. Help hard to find when you need things like propane. I would not stay here again.
All sites are gravel with cement strips for your tires to rest upon. The first site they assigned us was not level, and we moved to the one next to it. The set up was backward as the picnic table and BBQ area was on the back side of the trailer with just enough room to get out your front door on the door side. Very inconvenient for BBQ, etc. Staff very helpful with escorting to sites and booking entertainment. We stayed here as the park we wanted was full. We were aware of the KOA having stayed here before. They are the most expensive in the area. It was a choice made due to circumstances. Our site was across from the dumpster and work shed. The first day a worker was using a gas motor wood splitter for hours and only shut down when it was getting dark. Very noisy. The next morning in the pouring rain a dumpster dumper showed up shortly after 7 AM and with beeper going backed into the empty site next to us to line up on the dumpster. He then proceeded to dump it with a lot of banging and engine roaring. Coupling this with acorns dropping on the roof slides all day and night needing me to clean the slides to put them in, it was not a pleasant stay. Would not stay here again unless I again had no choice. About $15.00 over priced.
This was a very friendly park; a nice park which we were very impressed with. We would consider a longer stay here at a different time of year. The pull through sites were long but narrow. The roadway through the park also narrow. Watch the rocks that they use to outline the roadway and entrance and exits to sites. They cut down your turning radius and could damage a sidewall. Whoever put them in was not an RV person as no room for error was left. This park would be a 10 except for these minor issues. We did not use the showers but did check them out. They were clean but privacy was not great. A pool would make the park an 11.
Park was not busy. I asked for a level pull through site and got a narrow uneven pull through under a dead tree and acorn tree shedding nuts. I was too tired to move so I made do. The pool was very chlorinated and stung the nose when you entered the pool area. We had looked forward to a swim but declined due to pool chlorine level. In the morning I had to climb over my bicycle on the rear ladder to remove a dead branch from the roof. As far as I am concerned at this time of year this park is not worth the money. The girl in the office, although it would appear is not fully knowledgeable about the sites, was very friendly. I am sure if I would have just pulled into another site and told her it, would have been fine. Showers were very nice, large and clean.
They advertise sewer sites but only had 2. This is a large park with a big area for seasonal trailers. They have a number of sites for overnight or short stays but are water and electric. They also have a honey wagon you can arrange for but I am not sure if you have to pay for it. They are upgrading the electric system but we had continual breaker failure on the 30 amp and could not use our electric water heater setting or the A/C. For the price this was not a reasonable park to stay at. The washrooms were hit and miss for cleanliness and for the most part were not tidy. Sites were grass and mostly level. Staff seemed preoccupied and we were not shown to our site. I would not stay here again.
The rate reflects an extended stay rate. Nightly rate is in the $40.00 range. The owners of this park make a great effort to make this park a really great park. They are continually making improvements to the facilities available for guests to use. This year they were completing a shuffle board game. They are also working on new shower facilities for the upper group of sites. I would give this park a 10 anytime if they would just put in some time on the sites themselves. Our site was a catch basin for the rail run off. I had to rescue our clogs which were floating down the road after a good rain. Anytime it rained our site was inundated. A little work and the flooding could be controlled. For the Thunder Bay area you are limited to RV places and this is the best one in the area. Owners very friendly and will do what they can to make your stay a good one.
This was a quiet park and restful after driving for a few days. Office was closed by 4 PM. Wi-Fi was very poor and even with an antenna we could not get on. Were only 200 feet from the office so it is bad. Washrooms were so so. I put clean as they were untidy but not really dirty dirty. We were right across from the north showers but they appeared co-ed and not the nicest so we walked to the south showers near the seasonal groups. They were men/women divided and nicer. For an overnight stay it was fine and I would even consider a couple of days stay.
Really not worth what they charge. I had water and electric, no sewer. Pool nice but small. Sites gravel and grass. Uneven sites. The one they assigned was to narrow and trees to close for slide outs. I used the site next to it but still had to run the right wheels up on boards. Slope was so bad front to back I had to drop the trailer off of the truck as the angle front to back was to much. It was a pull through site but not a convenient one as truck needed to be disconnected to level trailer. I would not stay here again. Other RV places in area more reasonable.
Nice park for an overnight stay. Bar very convenient if you like a wind down drink after driving. Sites grass and gravel. Our assigned site was very uneven so I just pulled into the one next to it and told them I had moved. They had no problem with that. If you pull in and are ready for fuel, fill up as you get $2.00 off the nightly rate. I paid for water and electric, no sewer. Very convenient to Hwy 2. I would stay here again.
Good for an overnight stay. Sites are very sandy and some are narrow. We had to move to another site as the one we were given was too narrow for the slid-outs. Washrooms clean with lots of hot water in large showers. Wi-Fi was good but it is not secure as we found out when my granddaughter approached the male owner to ask for a code. She came back and said he was very miserable and told her there was not one. Wife friendly. Kids enjoyed the pool.
This is a young family park for the most part. Many young families and children. For the number of kids the park was fairly quiet. The Wi-Fi leaves a lot to be desired. The sites for the most part are very narrow. We had a back in site and with my 31 footer it was just long enough to park the truck in front. Width was narrow and by the time the slide outs were extended we were at the edge of the site on the right and over the patio area on the left. Our price quoted here was with the 10% Good Sam's Club discount. A very costly park but very convenient to the town. The pool is an indoor pool with heavy chemicals used. I would not stay here again as my Frankenmuth visit has been done. Other parks in the area at half the price. Staff helpful at the entrance but no one assist in your parking.
This is a good stop for overnight. Washroom and shower area is old and a little run down. Shower stalls very small. Lots of hot water though. Managers were friendly and helpful. Our site was very steep and I am sure my 5th wheel would have hit my pickup box so I am backing out of pull through site. I would stop here again for an overnight.
This park is about 15 miles off of I-71. It is on a winding dangerous one lane country road with many sharp twists and turns. A truly nerve racking drive after several hours on the highway. When we arrived at 6 PM there was no one around. Some sites were closed down for the winter. We had to search for one with water. Store/reception run down. The nicest thing about this campground was the signs directing to the park. Once there it was down hill fast. I would never stay here again.
Passport America rate given. Normal $28. We stayed 2 night for $28.00 total. Site was a pull through and very uneven. This park is set up for seasonals more than travelers. Was close to outlet malls. I would stay here again. Nothing was open yet due to the time of year.
Rate was a 7 night rate, pro-rated per night. I found this park expensive for what you got. Showers are very small for large framed man. Sites were level and nice. Has gravel sites with paved roads. We stayed for a week so we could see Nashville and the Grand Ole Opry. RV Park is located close to G-O-Opry, but 10 miles from town centre. Good shuttle service available. Book tours etc., from the park are the same as discounted costs on the web etc. Nice helpful staff. Good for Nashville visit. Some of the best entertainment at Nashville Nightlife dinner show next door to park.
KOA: Keep On Adding. I had heard this expression about KOA campgrounds and it was true about this one. A mediocre park, a little run down for a KOA. Sites were semi-level gravel. Staff was friendly. Checked in and was told it was an additional $2.00 a night for cable TV and $5.00 a night or $10.00 a week for WiFi. When you add it together, it was a very pricey place for what we got. Washroom/showers were old and in need of some good maintenance by someone who actually knows what they are doing. Okay for an overnight stay.
Older park that is now under new management. Many permanent residents who live in trailers of various conditions. Streets narrow. People very friendly and many things to do in area. Not a lot of activities in the park. We stayed for a long period so rate relative to that. Kind of a unique park so enjoyed.
We used Passport America so our rate was lower. This is a park used by people for long term stays. Sites are grass but level. Dead grass all over the place and tracked into your RV in the mornings when wet with dew. We were not impressed by this park. We left after 3 days. Park has just been sold so changes in the future.
We stayed here for one night. As KOA campgrounds go this is one of the poorer ones. It is okay for a night stay. Sites not to level. People who work here very helpful. I will stay here again as it is convenient. They also let you store your unit for $3.00 a night.
Reviewed this park in the past and gave poor marks because of washrooms and other issues. Much improved. Washroom fixed up and very clean. Wi-Fi has been improved and reception okay most of the time. For the price this is a good park for extended stays. Many activities. Anyone staying here and bored has something wrong with them
This park is a little expensive. Sites are quite nice and some are very nice. Ours was nice. Cement wheel runs with gravel. They have a shuttle service for shows and are very accommodating. Not very good direction signs to get you to the park. Without a GPS I don't think we would have found it. I would probably stay at another park next time just because of the costs.
Park gave the impression that it was in financial difficulties. Men's toilet had dried waste on the toilet seat. Only two men's toilets for the park. Two men's showers one of which was not working. The one that was had a shower head that was stuck on three lines of spray. A terrible shower. I will not stay here again. Wi-Fi down but not told about that fact until paid and staying for the night.
This park, although pretty, is run down. Roadways are narrow. Map of grounds is terrible. We were sent to a, what they called pull through site, at the back of the park. We had a 31 foot 5th wheel. Roads were wet due to rain. We skidded down hills and around hair pin turns. There is no way they should be sending any big rigs to the back of the park due to the park conditions. $36 dollars for an electric site that was mediocre at best. I would never stay here again. Showers were a mile from the site and not that great. The park looked like it was being neglected. I will not stay at a Provincial park again. Stayed at a private site next night. Better in all ways. Full hook up, $29.00.
Would be a great park except for the manager and the cleaning of the showers. Ground in dirt in floor. Mould Mould Mould. If the manager managed instead of working in the kitchen the place would be better.
Sites tight. Washrooms are clean because they have a sign that states "please wash floor when done". We who rent a site do the cleaning. At the price they charge they should clean the washrooms. For a day or two the place is OK
Staff seemed indifferent. Need a shake up. Sites OK. Small laundry room and a long walk from most sites. Perks are few. Buffet was one of the worst I have had at a casino. Would never pay for it again. Sites good. OK for an over night. WiFi $3.00 a day.
We usually take KOA when traveling in areas we do not know. This park was recommended to us. We found the sites very narrow. Washrooms were the worst we have ever encountered in a KOA. They were old and in need of repairs. KOA camps usually have great washroom and showers. That is always a selling point to us for parks. KOA staffs are also usually the most helpful and accommodating. Here they seem to want to slough off the work. I think that the attitude really shows what is wrong with this park. There is no worker pride, and they let things slide, and it shows. Wake up management. Hire good maintenance workers who do some preventive maintenance. If I come back to San Antonio I will probably try another RV Park
For an over night stay this place is fine. It is very close to the interstate. Washrooms are clean but old with lots of hot water. The manager/owner is friendly. WiFi free and good. Site for pull through are paved but narrow and uneven. Take the time to level your rig as we did not and suffered for it. You will need about 3 inches or more of rise to level the site. For the price and convenience I would stay here again.
We stayed here long term. For the price it was reasonable. Close to shopping and other things. Area not the best with he strip clubs but we never experienced anything negative. Staff aim to please. Washrooms and showers were so so. This year they spent a ton of money on a miniature golf course that could have been better spent on modernizing washrooms or other facilities. We plan on staying here again. Monthly rate reasonable.
Stayed 5 weeks. This park is close to the Trans-Canada highway. It is also used by the locals as a weekend getaway. Some are there for the summer. Weekend activities usually relate to a charity fund raiser, Some activities for kids. We enjoyed our stay and have the grandkids there almost every day. They have fun with other kids. Camp fires can be a problem with the amount of smoke. Park is well looked after and very clean. Sites are fairly good sized, We had to ask for some dust control as the dust was very bad. We will stay here again.
This park is a basic park for short stays. There are no sewer hookup. You have to move your rig to the dump station. Shower bathrooms were moderately clean but not a pleasure to use. Shower and change room floors were kind of yucky. Rate paid included a Good Sams discount. I would stay again for a night but no longer. Sites are very heavily used by tenter's. Loud music playing. Many many camp fires causing smoke problems.
Nice park. Sites short in length but wide enough. Staff helpful. Close to Hershey attractions. Gravel roads so can be dusty. Good store with ample supplies both in easy to run out off food types and trailer stuff you find you need once in a while. Pool not open when we were there but looks like a nice set up. I would stay here again without hesitation. Recommended.
This was a very nice park. I would have rated it a 10 except for the gravel roads (dust), and timed (no adjustment) showers. It was very nice, with nice scenery and facilities. If this was closer to my home town I would set up here all summer. The showers were good sized but used those fine spray water saver heads, and were pre set for temperature. As it was cool when I was here and shower room cold, waiting forever to get luke warm water to shower with was a pain. Owners should set temp higher for early spring and late fall. In my opinion the shower system employed would not save any money as you ran it for 5 minutes to get warm water anyway instead of instant heat. I would definitely stay here again and recommend same.
I was very disappointed when I pulled into my site and found the road was gravel and not paved with gold. $75 dollars for a site, and we had to stay 2 days. There was a motel down the road advertising a room for $69.00. They stated they were full because of the azalea festival. Well even at $40.00 I would find this to much money. Gravel roads, gravel site, unheeded pool. Snobby staff. I will never stay here again. Gouge is the name of the game. Not only did I have to pay $1.39 for gas but got gouged on the camp site also.
Sites sand or gravel. Mostly sand. Quite dirty due to sand everywhere. Quiet area right off I-95. Short drive to Savannah. Has tour bus company that will come to the park and pick you up. Very convenient. Would be a 10 except for sites. Staff friendly and efficient. Stayed here 4 days and toured area. Would stay here again.
We had a reservation at another RV park in the Donna, McAllen, Mission area of Texas for the month of December. We arrived early and decided to stay at this park. We liked it so much we canceled our reservation and booked in here for 5 months. Park is well run and a great park for the price. It has two pools and all kinds of activities. Washrooms very clean. It is a mixture of park models and RV's. People are very friendly. Kids allowed for a week for a grandkid fix. It is a 55 plus park though. Close to Mexico and shopping.
Friendly people but a very basic park. Washrooms were dirty, old and mildew loaded. Very dusty. When I left I had to wash my truck and trailer. The site was also full of fire ants and sand burs. For an overnight stay it was sufficient. I would not stay here long term.
We are staying here for two months, September and October. The sites are great as they have paved sites with cement patios. The rate for the off season is very reasonable. This site is geared to permanent seasonal park models with an area for RV sites that cater to weekender traffic and overnight stays. The park attracts a lot of teenage users who party hearty and keep the more sedate awake to all hours. Security is infrequent and ineffective. Dogs bark all day and teens drive around with rap blasting at ear shattering sound levels and young idiots yelling all hours of the night. During the week days the park at this time of year is quiet and peaceful. Weekends are terrible. I will pay extra for a quieter park. Washrooms are cleaned infrequently and the shower change areas are full of dirt most times. I had to request they be cleaned a number of times after the same dirt was present for more than two days. I will not stay here again next year.
This campground is affiliated with Santa's Village across the road. It is all dirt and pine needles. There is no sewer hookups as they have been outlawed by the town. You pay top dollar for a poor site then have to pay an additional $5.00 to dump your tanks. The showers and restrooms were filthy. The worst we have ever used. The roadways are very narrow and you have to be very careful that you don't clip trees when using them. There are a number of permanent units there that are in various stages of decay. All together a very poor place to stay. There are other campgrounds in the area including a KOA. I wished I had stayed there. I will never stay at this campground again.
I stayed here for a week and extended for another. This site would be a 10 if not for the traffic noise that goes on all night from the Trans Canada Highway 11-17 that is visible from the campground. My site was large but not level. It was almost all sand and caused dirt problems. I ended up buying an outside rug piece to help. There were grass sites but no shade. Most of the real nice sites are permanent rentals. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Nice pool and showers. Has an excellent mini put on site and a free catch and release trout pond for your enjoyment. Playground for kids. This park is used by locals for weekend get a ways and as a vacation spot. I would stay here again.
We stopped here overnight. There is a new Kenora bypass, 17A that skirts Kenora now. This campground is 2 km from the east junction of Hwy 17 and Hwy 17A on old Hwy 17 heading towards Kenora. Campsite level. People friendly. WIFI expensive at $5.00 for 4 hours. The overnight stays are across from the main campground causing you to cross the highway to use any facilities. Traffic noise high as you are adjacent to the highway and it appears a lot of tractor trailer units use the old highway as it is shorter through Kenora on their way to Winnipeg than using the new bypass. The campground looks well kept. Some great long term sites on the main campground. Our site was level, large and neat. It was however infested with ants. A little expensive but probably would use again if by this way. Gas and diesel available right next door.
This site is 12 km east of Regina Saskatchewan off of Hwy 1. It is about 3 miles from the highway. It is okay for an overnight stay or a few days if attending the area for some reason. Proprietor helpful and friendly. Sites level. We were here after a rain so the dirt road was a mire and made the trailer filthy. Good value though for the price.
This was an adequate campground for a night or two stay. We used it for two nights as a base to go to Lake Louise and Banff. The washrooms were not very clean. WiFi available for $1.00 and was as secure site. The park was quite nice. We had male Mountain Goat groups come right into the park. Had some great photo opportunities of ram with great horn sets. Scenery was quite spectacular also with the mountains all over. Town of Golden quaint and worth a walk around. I would stay here again passing through
This is a super clean and neat park. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Washrooms are co-ed so that detracts from the sites overall rating. Male and female share toilets and showers. This would have been a 10 except for that. Nice place.
The worst park I have ever stayed at. It is absolutely filthy. They rake the old fire ashes into the dirt that makes up each campsite area. My trailer was absolutely filthy after a week here. Bathrooms do not have any soap or paper for hygiene here. As previous entry says trains every 11 minutes. WiFi very poor and the only way to get a signal is to go to the store and restaurant. Do not stay here. Go to another site and not Sandy shores as same thing.
Sites are okay. Staff so so friendly and not depending who you dealt with. Showers are adequate. Cost $1.00 for shower and 5 minutes. lots of hot water. We stayed here twice as it is close to airport which we needed. We checked out other campgrounds in area and all worse than this one. WiFi provided by private person and is $6.95 a day or $15 a week or $22 a month. Best in Calgary area but not saying much.
Overnight spot only. Quite expensive for what you get. Showers clean. Pool very dirty. Young teenage staff who were more interested in playing on the bicycles than doing work. I old them about the pool and that there was a young couple in the pool with 2 children who were to young to be potty trained and were in the water without pool diapers. They brushed me off. I don't think I would stay here again. Site not well kept. WiFi hit and miss.
This is a good staging area site where the sites are adequate. Not a lot of campground amenities but convenient to Deadwood, Mount Rushmore and Hill City for the train ride. Showers nice and adequate, Laundry costs high. Over priced for what you get but I would stay here again if I come to Deadwood. Sites narrow. Staff helpful.
Nice sites for overnight or a few days. I would stay here again. Appears some locals stay for extended periods. Sites level. Sites well defined. No grass just small aggregate (small stone). Can be a little dusty.
I booked in here for a total of 6 weeks. I found the costs were high for what I paid close to a thousand dollars and for what I got. They include the pool access and even one 9 hole game of golf for each day paid. When you stay by the week then you lose those perks and have to pay to swim or golf. This park will rate higher by those who stay a night or two. For long time camping I found the showers were of poor quality. Shower curtains cheap and to short to cover the opening from edge to edge. You had to make sure your clothes were out of the way or they got wet. They also were slimy. I found paying the $1.00 senior swim charge for the morning adult swim period was worth it as the showers were better. Being close to Lake Superior, a very cold lake made the stay a cold one. I went through 60 lbs of propane in 4 weeks because of the furnace running all night. You will find the town a tourist town and everything is expensive. Some nice stores to walk through and some friendly bars to have a drink. Some good restaurants. However I won't stay here again. Best time to visit would be mid July or August once the lake warms up a bit. Today is the first day of summer and it is 55 degrees outside this morning.
This campground is not well run. The people used to check you in don't seem to have any knowledge about camping. They assigned me a site that did not match my trailer. I had to go back and ask for another site I had checked out. They do not direct you or assist you in finding or backing into your site. I was traveling alone so had to back the trailer into a narrow site by myself. Could have used a hand. Sites are level. Sewer, water, electric and cable are all positioned so that after you back your trailer into the spot, you need extra long water lines, sewer lines, electrical cord and TV cable to use the facilities. The only reason I would stay here again is for the same reason I stayed here this time. For a night of gambling.
Very pretty camp with lots of shade trees. The big draw back is it's distance from main highways. Park needs some restoration. They did have WiFi but the modem broke and they did not repair or replace it. I was directed to a site which was a nice choice but narrow on a winding road. The manager did not follow me or show me the site or help with my backing up. I was traveling alone so had to get in and out of the truck to check distances and obstructions. They need a lesson in park management. I just stayed over night and left the next day instead of staying longer. Park was empty except for two of us. Getting out of the site next day was fun due to the close confines and 360 degree tight turn to exit the area.
This is a basic campground. The shower facilities are basic and old but clean. Staff friendly and escort to site. They assist in parking. Most sites pull through. Mine was gravel with a cement patio pad. Site was very level and I was set up within 20 minutes. There is limited shopping so make sure you have what you need before you arrive. Nothing on site and very little in town. They have a very good WiFi secure site. Laundry and ice on honor system. Put money in slot. I will stay here again overnight. Would not stay long term.
The staff here are mostly full time RV people. Helpful and friendly. They escort to site and assist parking. Store has good variety of supplies including alcohol and trailer needs. The sites are very narrow and small. Crammed in so that you and your neighbor fight over parking space for the vehicle. Very busy park and I believe over priced. I will stay here again because of the convenience and the washrooms. Supervision of pets and making owners scoop dog waste is lax. Pool on weekend, was full of kids as it should be, but also full of weekender campers drinking out of bottles and very inebriated. Observed camp workers look in and do nothing. They need to tighten up on some issues.
This is a beautiful park with helpful staff. It is an excellent park for family camping. Very quiet when I was there. Swimming pool was not available and was missed with 90 degree weather. Horse park a nice morning or afternoon visit for family and kids. This would be a 10 park if they had sewer hook up. They give senior discount.
