Great campground! Camp hosts were extremely helpful, friendly, and professional. The sites allow for some privacy and are spacious. Whole campground was kept clean and the hosts attend to maintenance and upkeep regularly. This campground is very convenient to shopping in Asheville, but seems like it's deep in a forest. Bathrooms very clean, showers clean also. Big fire rings, big picnic tables, reasonable prices and location. The only down side is that this campground closes on Oct 31. I would camp here in the winter if it was open.

The camp hosts were very friendly and professional. They were very hospitable, and helped me back in to my site since I arrived after dark. The views are beautiful from the campground in one direction. The other views leave something to be desired. I would not say this campground is located in a country setting at all. Across a small field is a very busy road and there is no privacy at all at the sites nor the whole campground. No shade trees or shrubs separate the sites. Some sites had a picnic table, and some didn't. A couple of the sites were very junky looking because the occupants were not very neat and had stuff laying everywhere -even a porta potty out in the front of the site. The bathrooms were not filthy, but since there were open areas at the bottom of each wall, leaves and critters had easy access. They also were not heated, but probably would have been bearable if the bathhouse wasn't "open air". Again, the camp hosts were wonderful, but the campground is not what I was led to believe from the previous reviews and the campground website.

The park swimming pool is closed due to budget cuts. The hiking trails are nice and the staff is very friendly and professional. The sites are big, and spacious and some give you privacy. The bathrooms are very clean and well maintained. The showers were very clean as well.

This was my second visit to Unicoi State Park and this visit was much better than the last one. The park staff at the lodge were very friendly, courteous and helpful. The rangers and campground hosts made rounds several times a day and were friendly. Nearby Helen has a couple of good restaurants, one being The Troll, but the shops leave a bit to be desired. The showers and bathrooms were very clean and most of the sites were pretty level. We camped in the first campground loop with the older comfort stations, but they were clean. Lots of hiking and biking are nearby. I didn't eat in the lodge restaurant, but others in my party did and they said it was good.

Lots to do at High Falls State Park, Paddle boat, Jon boats, and canoe rental. Playground, trails, swimming pool, fishing, and nice scenery. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The Ranger was very visible and will enforce parking and quiet times. New section has bigger sites, but you give up shade and privacy. Restrooms were very clean as well as showers. The park has two campground sections, one by the river, and one by the lake. The sites by the river are bigger, but they're on the other side of the road from the main part of the park. Take the time to read the history of the park and see the old powerhouse.

Park was clean, sites relatively level, bathrooms and showers extremely clean. Nice trails for biking and hiking start within park. Convenient location. Some sites shady - some sites allow for privacy, some do not. Park personnel helpful, friendly, and professional. Great park!

There are sites with electric/water, however they are not usually available during peak season as the campground hosts occupy them. In the off season, a couple of the loops are closed off. Most of the sites are big and roomy and allow some privacy. The sites in the White Oak and Laurel loops are the most private. The Poplar Loop is tent (walk-in) only. The campground hosts were very helpful and friendly as well as the resident ranger. The bathrooms were very clean, but unheated. The showers were clean, but the one I went to did not have a curtain up for privacy. Lots to do in the area. Biking, hiking, waterfalls, sightseeing and the Ranger station across the road has a gift shop with an exhibit area of the forest and wildlife which is very informative. Shopping in Brevard is only 3 miles away. Excellent campground!!

The staff and volunteers here were very friendly and helpful. The park has some great hiking trails and swimming area. The park store was sufficiently stocked, but did not open until 12 noon each day, however, it did stay open until 8 pm. Most of the sites in both of the campgrounds need a bit of work with the exception of the first few on the main campground entrance road. The sites are small with no privacy and are really close together. There was significant areas in most of the sites that had deep washout from heavy water flow due to the ground not being level.

Grayson Highlands has beautiful scenery, friendly and helpful staff, and a very clean campground. The showers and bathrooms were extremely clean and always stocked with soap and paper. If you are into hiking, this is a great destination. The AT runs right through the park, as do many other connecting trails. The wild ponies are a treat too! Sites vary from small to large, some shady, some not. Some are a little more private than others. This is one of the few places I've been that is on my list of "come back for another visit".

I stayed here for three nights Thursday-Sunday. The park was fairly quiet and only moderately filled the first night and the second day; however, Friday night the campground filled up with lots of kids and loud adults. The children seemed to be, for the most part, unsupervised as they were running through campsites and yelling. I don't know if it's like this every weekend in the summer, but it was quite annoying. The park itself is located in a convenient location very near Helen, GA for shopping and dining. There are several miles of trails to hike all with trailheads within the park. The lake is stocked with fish and there are also paddle boats for rent and a swimming beach. There are two different campground sections, one of which includes a separate tent section. The sites are close together with not a lot of privacy. The scenery from the campground is of other campsites - no views at all. The roads are in good condition and paved and moderately wide to allow big rigs. The personnel all were friendly and helpful. Bathrooms and grounds were exceptionally clean. The lodge located in the park has a restaurant with good food. All in all, the park is decent, but I probably won't come back to this one anytime soon. I will rate it a bit higher than it appears in my write-up, simply because I understand there are some who prefer this type of atmosphere- i.e. families with children, etc.

I'm not sure what the rate actually is per night, because I had a certificate for a free night. Redtop has lots of trails, a nice lodge, good restaurant, and friendly personnel. I arrived late and was just staying for one night and did not want to unhitch, and wanted a pull through site. They were very accomodating with my requests. Although I didn't use it, I believe the sites have CaTV. Very beautiful scenery and a nice drive to the campground.

Cloudland Canyon Campground has two campgrounds; east rim and west rim. The east rim was closed during my visit, but the west rim is the most private and roomiest of the two. The overlook into the canyon is near the east rim campground and is not within walking distance of the west rim campground. It is worth the drive to see it. When checking in, the personnel were very helpful, professional, and friendly. They did not require me to report back to them which site I was to occupy, just told me to put the signage on the site post, which eliminated having to make another trip back to the check in. There are about 10-12 miles of trails here and the west rim trail is very scenic. The trip to the waterfalls is very difficult- not going, but coming back up out of the canyon is a thigh burner! The waterfalls to the left at the trail junction are easier to get to. The path to both falls are steps, not trail and there are a lot of 'em! The restrooms were very clean, the showers had plenty of hot water, and the laundry room was very clean as well. I liked the park and would recommend it.

This park is a great place. It has numerous activities for all. I enjoyed all the hiking trails in and around the park. I also found many other trails and attractions on HWY 19/129 to visit. Mountain Crossings Outdoor gear store, Helton Creek Falls, and Desoto Falls are just a short drive away. Lake Winfield Scott is nearby too and you would be able to do many different loop hikes using the park as a starting point. I camped here in the winter and while I was here it snowed so it was truly beautiful. The park personnel were very friendly and helpful. The park store has limited supplies, but it is open from 7 AM to 10 PM. Part of the campground was closed for the winter and some of the sites are situated in such a way that it can be difficult to maneuver into a site. Some seemed OK, others were a tight looking fit. The showers and bathroom facilities were very clean. There is a playground for kids and in the summer there are paddle boats to rent and a swimming beach. I was here for Meredith Emerson Memorial Hike and I think there were a few other people camping here for the same reason this weekend. It seemed to busier than usual.

This is a great park. The ocean front sites are smaller and fewer, but they are definitely a jewel if you can get one. The sites away from the water usually have more shade. The sites across the main campground road are in a woodsier environment and have much more privacy. There are also many tent sites, most of which are oceanfront. I don't believe the ocean front sites can accommodate big rigs. I have read that sites are booked well in advance, but I was able to secure an oceanfront site just 3 weeks in advance. The down side to the site I got was that it is easier to access by traveling in the opposite direction on the road, however, there are less than a handful in the entire campground like this. The oceanfront sites have excellent views of the ocean and the sunrises were awesome. They are literally steps from the beach and just a few yards away from the water at high tide. Leave your windows open and hear the waves 24/7. Park security is good and the gate code changes each day so you must ask the park staff for the code if you plan on returning after the gate is locked each night at 10 PM. Television channels are limited and sometimes the signal is weaker than other times. If you bring a dish or antenna, it will depend on what site you occupy whether you will have good access to the satellite due to the tree cover. I did not have any problem with insects during my visit in November. I also did not have any trouble with raccoons. I saw many deer and squirrels. Dogs are allowed in the campground but must be on a leash; however, they are allowed on the beach off leash. All of the people working at the park were very courteous, friendly, and pleasant. The park store is open until 9 PM every night and is well stocked. If you forget something, chances are they have it on the shelf. The Lighthouse is a short walk down the beach, but make sure you don't get caught during high tide. It will be a long walk back via the highway. There are also many hiking trails, most which begin at the Day Use area near the Lighthouse. One trail leaves from the campground and travels through the palmetto/pine/hardwood forest. It is not a loop trail, so you must make a U turn. Down the road (not walking distance) is a wildlife viewing area and a boardwalk that goes out over a marsh. This park is one of South Carolina’s gems and I highly recommend it.

This park has the potential to be a great place. They are expanding the campground and adding 50 amp hookups. The lake is nice, the rangers are nice, and the gate keeper was helpful and friendly.

This campground is family friendly, very clean, and management is very helpful and friendly. I have camped here many times and there are a lot of locals who camp here on a regular basis. Site 13 is right on the river. There are other sites that are very near the river or creek in Loop #4. The campground is loaded with Rhododendrons. Store sometimes is open, but has no regular hours, however, if you need something, the management is always around and are glad to open up to let you get what you may need. The campground has many hiking trails, and leave right from the campground and provide the option to do some loop hikes. The area is considered to be one of the best hiking destinations in the southwest mtns. The Appalachian Trail is nearby. The showers are kept very clean as well as bathrooms. No hookups, but this campground makes up for that in it's beauty. The creek and river are good for trout fishing.
