Very friendly staff, close, gravel, all pull throughs. Sewer connections are not really aligned so you can stay hooked up to trailer and use, unless you have a very long connection. Close to being level sites, good stop over off of I-80, as it's 1 mile away, so was nice and quiet. We will stop again, but rate a little high for not being able to hook up sewer.

Excellent weekly stay or overnight. Only 6 miles from Interstate 80. Not busy during week, but weekends about 90% full. Very shaded, nice grassy level sites, some in a pine forest. Has excellent exceptionally clean showers, friendly park workers. Historic Round Barn, lake, trails for hiking, nicest state park Illinois has. Cell service better in the loop by the showers. Too many trees over by lake. Saw park staff clean bathrooms, many times. Only water with a hose thread was at the entrance to the campground by the RV dump. Water is available in park, but no hose attachments. We will stop and stay a while again next time.

Nice State Park Campground. Back in sites at an angle, easy to back in. Water not marked on maps, but plentiful throughout the campground. Memorial Day was VERY full and busy, but no one after or before holiday, almost empty. Good power, nice shady area. Some older areas were gravel, some had concrete pads. We will camp here again.

Nice level, shaded sites. Friendly owners, quiet park. Plenty of room for the traveler not staying the season. Seasonals are located on outside of park. Very family friendly. AT&T/Sprint/Verizon cell service ok. Lots of off the air channels. Would be good if you had a dish to set up. Can get campfire smoky on weekends. Price reflects cash with Passport America. Great weekly rate. Tons of birds, near Illinois fish hatchery, conservation areas for birding.

Very nice campground. Unfortunately, no dump. We filled our tanks from campground water tap. Sites were very level, gravel, campground looks new, not worn out. Friendly greeting from Campground host, very nice lake for canoe/kayak. Heard wild Turkeys most of the evening. Electric hook up worked fine. If you have Nebraska Park sticker, cost would only be $15. $4 entry otherwise additional. Shade trees are pretty young, will be a while before they shade your camping. We will mark this as a favorite stop when driving on US 34. You can get within 75 ft of shore on lake, but not right on lake.

We camped in Spring Canyon Campground, the other campground in park was next to RR & Highway, it was very quiet. It's an older place, but everything clean, dirt/gravel sites, handicap is concrete pad. Water we found near Handicap sites. Electric on 110v worked, but 30am circuit did not. No one else in campground when we were there. Near boat ramp and docks you could fish on. I would stop here again, because it was so quiet and clean. Rte 34 across NE takes you through friendly towns & People, lots of roadside parks for lunch/rest stops. Dump was clean and functional easy access on exit, but not marked except on the way into campground.

Very friendly owner. Good drive entrance way. They even had a garden for travelers to use and leave donation. Walking distance to restaurant. It's too windy to put out the awning or cook on the grill outside. Clean, level gravel pull through. Best WiFi out there, good enough to download a movie and watch. Close to I-70 so easy to find and get to. I used the gas station across the highway when we left to air my tires.

Good place for stop over while on I-70. Watch the turn off as it is right next to the East Bound I-70 exit (If your going west) ramp, you miss it, you'll drive 18 miles to turn around. Cleanest restrooms we've seen on our trip. Good laundry. RV pads are still a little broken up but they are ok. 30 amp breaker tripped when I ran the microwave; had to shut A/C off to do that. Owners were very friendly. This is a small park. If you stay for an extended period, ask about staying down on lower section behind laundry/shower building. Good Sam Discount on price.

Neat, clean, very well shaded campground. Owners are very nice, friendly. We stayed a whole week. WiFi excellent. Close to Interstate I-57; Would be a good stop over for 1 night as they set you up in pull through up front. Owners always available, and I was surprised at the road noise was so quiet. There were a couple of trains at night in the distance, but other wise, highly recommended. Very close to Rend Lake State Park area.

A great place to stay with families. Nice pool, shady areas are given if they are not too crowded. Weekends are busy, during the week it's quiet. We stayed a whole week. Digital TV off the air is excellent. Very nice folks running this campground. My rate was discounted for Passport America and cash for the weekly rate. Will be back and stay. Toured area water conservation areas and Indian ruins (Dixon Mounds). Leave lights off at night, lots of bugs/moths. Nearest Wal-Mart is 25 miles.

One of the best camping stops we have ever made. Excellent place, neat as a pin. I wouldn't be afraid to camp next to the water, looked level, but not when I searched using Google Earth. We did go by the marina campground at Buck Creek, I wouldn't recommend that section, as it was full of "full-timers," and very crowded. We stayed in loop B. The RV dump was very good on the way out of the campground. Excellent view of the lake, very quiet, a few digital stations over the air TV. I would recommend staying a week. We were using US Route 34, so no interstates are nearby.

Excellent nightly stop over. I was charged an additional $4 for entrance to park. Very clean, easy to get to from Interstate 80. Quiet and a few shade trees. We did get 3 to 4 inches of rain during the night, the RV pads were dry in the morning, and kept us from getting muddy. Lots of grass in the park. RV dump was very clean the next day. Water is available at several places along the drive through but not at each spot. This will be a favorite stop over when traveling I-80.

Rate reflects KOA discount. Nice clean facilities. WiFi was too weak to use unless we sat in front of the registration desk. Electric, water, sewer all worked just fine. Narrow gate entrance, but once through the gate there are multiple pull through registration lanes. The "lake" was full of moss, but did have paddle boats for kids. Staff was friendly and helpful. Laundry was very clean.

Nice campground, host are very friendly. One of the cleanest restrooms/showers I've ever been in. 13 1/2 miles off of I-80 you turn and drive another 9 miles. Worth the drive. Use the website directions, not Google. Not all sites looked level, but the one we backed into was, once I backed up to the wheel chocks. Campground Hosts are replenishing the picnic tables, very nice, each has it's own shelter. Might be a little tight when two guest are staying side by side at each shelter. Ours was empty. RV Dump Station was very clean with running water. I did notice there was a "Grey" waste grate within about 30 ft of our site. Also water is available in a few places but you'll need a water bandit.

Our price reflected average two nights, Passport America for first night at 1/2 price. Very friendly staff, we were directed right to our site. We ordered food from their delivery restaurant: was very good and fast on a busy Saturday night. The tent area was very full across from our site, but on Sunday night they all cleared out. This is a very well kept, clean campground. We were close enough to visit Shoshone Falls. I would stay here again.

Good Sam discount on the day rate. We stayed two nights. Gravel road from main highway to Park, entrance to Park is very good, asphalt. Sites are all pull through, gravel. All sites look level. Be sure not to park to close to electric post if you have a slide out on that side. Owners were very friendly. Water pressure and electric (30amp) very good. Bring mosquito repellent. Has a small picnic table by each site.
