We camped here from September 2008-January 2009. The staff was very helpful, and public areas were always spotless. Great location just outside of town, but setting of the campground was peaceful. Management had their favorite long-term renters, and they were allowed to "break the rules" (have more vehicles than allowed, could make more noise, could leave their pets outside all day, etc.). Because we stayed in the colder months, we were informed that we were required to provide heating tape, etc. for our pipes. We were also charged for our electric use. This was fine with us, but all other campgrounds in the area notified us of these things when we first visited, not after we'd been there for months. Wireless internet was very unreliable. Upon check-in, we were told that some improvements that were needed at and next to our site would be done within a couple of days, but it was more like a couple of months. If we were passing through again for a few days, we'd probably stay here again.
We camped here from January to February 2009. As other reviewers have stated, this is more run down than your typical KOA. We were placed near some long-term renters and their garbage would often blow into our site. We spent the first hour after we checked in cleaning up our site. Never used the pool or restrooms, but there was often a bad smell in the laundry. The great staff, beautiful scenery, peace and quiet of the park, and good price made up for the negatives of this campground. Would certainly stay here again.
