Upon arriving at our site, I was surprised as to how big it was. I have been in some campgrounds that would make 5 sites out of one here. Nice long paved pull thru with concrete patio. Fire rings and even a charcoal grill. Store fairly well stocked. But if not, there is a grocery store within a five min drive from campground. Close (within 20-30 min drive) to North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach. No CATV, but could pickup about a dozen stations using RV antenna. Free games in rec hall and good fishing in very large lake. Would recommend and will return.
Stayed here 8 nights and 7 days in mid July on family vacation. Escorted us to our site and made sure we were all OK. Very helpful and friendly staff in office and riding around the park. Knew a great deal about local legends and lore and freely shared to all on our site. Very nice personal touch when "Bill" came back to show our daughter and her friend how to "hunt" ghost. They do have both pull thru and back-in sites that are gravel and grass and fairly level. Depending on where you are, facilities are a short work. Store had limited stock but did stay open to 8 or 9. The sites are a bit close, but no worse than others. Close to Gettysburg and battlefields. Good activities on weekends for kids. Would recommend and will return. Only about an hours drive from Hershey.
Used as a one night stop over. Very impressed with office and staff. Office/Store stays open to 8 or 9. Very clean facilities. Nice sites with picnic tables. Several gas stations and restaurants nearby. Easy access off of I-95. Would recommend for short stay or long. Would stay at again.
Was here for a week with family. This is great RV resort in an "unspoiled" area of Florida. Nice concrete sites with picnic tables. Most sites are pull-through. While the sites mat be a bit narrow, we had ample room for our double slideout 5er. Bathhouse was kept clean and twice daily garbage pick up keeps the grounds clean also. Landscaping is great. Sites have just enough slope to keep water from standing. Staff very friendly. Close to Carrabelle, East Point, St. George, and Apalachacola. Highly recommend and would return.
Stayed here for 7 days in July on vacation with family. Site was fairly level but recent rains had made it a little muddy since all sites are gravel/dirt/grass. Had a good shade tree, but due to the closeness of the motorhome next to us, fire ring was useless unless we moved the ring (which they said we could). Recent rains had roads and sites a bit muddy. Good location for trips into Charleston and nearby sights. Shopping area nearby is nice. Important note though: if you need WiFi while staying there, get on a site close to office/store, we were on the edge and signal was poor or non-exsistant. Would recommend for family or non-family campers and will return.
Nice little stopover campground off of I-95. Sites were level and owners very friendly. Bath houses, while dated, were clean, and kept checked up on throughout the day. We were there with a group using the meeting facilities and got a discount. Wi-Fi was not good, but they just had a bad storm a few days earlier so I think it had it messed it up. Cell coverage was very good for VZW & ATT. Close to major shopping areas and restaurants. Only gave it a seven because the roads, while paved, needed a bit of work and some older permanent trailers were a bit rundown and a bit of an eyesore. I would recommend for one-night stop over or even a two night stop over.
This is our first trip back here since 2006. They have added lots of new activities for kids. They have also added new sites. We were places in a new site near the pool/water slide/water wars area and they were very spacious with large concrete pads and nice plush soft grass. We live within a two hour drive of this campground so we are going to start coming here a great deal more. I highly recommend this campground for persons with or without kids.
Great campground!!! Sites had concrete pads and grass that were fairly level. Not many activities at campground other than pool. But this is a destination campground since you are within 10 miles of Busch Gardens/Water Country and Colonial Williamsburg. Will come back here and highly recommend to anyone.
This is a great campground. This was our first visit here and we were not disappointed. The campground was very well taken care of, and all of the staff we very friendly. The pool was very nice, and the basketball and volleyball areas were in good shape. The playground was in good shape as was the equipment. The roads were in good shape, and the new grocery store and other shopping areas that are located nearby are very helpful (you don't even have to get back out on Highway 17). The owners will give you a nice FAQ sheet that has great "local" tips on it. Didn't give it a 10 due to our site being a bit narrow and the fact that the camp store closes at 6:00pm. Will go back there, highly recommend. Great place to stay with kids or without, and close enough to Charleston, so that you can be downtown in about 20 mins.
Return visit here, found things a little bit better. Roads still not paved, but some had fresh gravel on the. New playground area for kids is great. Wireless internet available in main building only, not at sites. Still only have about 2 dozen sewer sites. They had no planned activities for the kids except on the weekend, so during the week, they got bored. Beware of the full timers, or snowbirds, some of them think they own the park and are very rude. Very quiet at night. Would recommend.
If large campgrounds are your thing, then this is the place for you. It is very large and even has it's own post office. It was a nice campground, but I was a little disappointed in the overall appearance. There were cigarette butts, drink cans, small pieces of trash, and fireworks scraps not just on the beach but also in campsites. The sites were good size, but the sand was everywhere. Pool area was too small for a campground that size (literally standing room only). Bath houses were clean and checked on a regular basis. Entire staff was nice, but even they said they could only do so much. Golf Carts were everywhere. It had rude campers, and frequently drunk, with persons cutting thru your site at all hours of the day and night, and we were not even close to a bath house. Finally put picnic table up to block the way. Will not go back, but mainly because of the size and rude campers. Much too large for us. We like the 200-300 site size campgrounds. Would recommend, but only as last resort.
Awesome Park!!! All sites grassy and very clean. While the site we were in was a little off level, I have stayed at much worse and found this not to be a problem here. Bathhouses were very clean and entire campground was very clean and free of trash lying on the ground. Beach access is very nice. Most sites are pull through and they escort you to your site. I would definitely recommend to anyone.
What a hidden jewel!!! We arrived there after dark, and they escorted us to our campsite. Then it just kept getting better. Nice plush grass with a huge concrete pad that was the entire length of the pull through (which most sites are). Very clean and neat campground. Great staff, and clean facilities. The store is well stocked and fishing and mining for gemstones was great for adults and kids!!! We will be back!!
Great Campground!!! Stayed here Labor Day weekend '06. Restrooms were clean and campground was clean. Activities at pool fun for kids (we have 3-ages 8 to 14) and adults. Only problem was campers across the street had a Rottwiler type dog and I was not comfortable with that. While he was kept on a leash, he barked at anyone walking by or riding by on bikes. We will be back though, this is the only campground for us in Myrtle Beach area. Highly recommend!!!!.
